Divorce is difficult. If one is not very sure about their partner, then one should never get married. Some people are able to stay married for over 50 or 60 years. I believe they are the lucky ones. Why? Once you get your love life, and family life, under control, then one is free to concentrate on so many other important pleasures in life, such as work, research, or anything else that is productive. (I really HATE Country Music because I can't stand all those sad singers singing so sadly about broken hearts, or even Shooting the Sheriff, for example. Choose the right partner, and be happy, is my motto.)

The way I see this interview Pete is he's gone out there, took pleasure first which he admitted, out on the piss, neglected pretty much his other half and grew apart. Got lucky and got a decent job at the end and moved on. Asian women are very sensitive to these sort of things especially when your married, and she must have had enough and it turned out like that. See it time and time again where marriage ain't respected as a Westerner going out having pleasure and probably had enough and set bad example for us westerners. There is always two sides of the story in my books to things like this mate. Great interview however mate and fair play to the bloke for saying what he had to say. 🙌

Great interview! which demands a Part Two. Bar Life is for the Birds, but if one's sales job depends upon entertaining clients, then this often becomes a huge burden on any marriage. Any physical violence, whatsoever, and then one needs to be out the door and divorced, ASAP. Chinese know the value of buying and holding land. Maybe marry a Chinese wife, then? NO! Don't do it! Stay single, unless you really know what you are doing. Is it possible for someone who has spent over 50 years in Asia to return and live happily on the Isle of Wight? I find this rather implausible in most cases. Let's see Part Two. And, let's see much more about the challenges of doing business, involving multinationals, and setting up of small businesses with revenue of over USD10 million, in Thailand. Another 20 years in Asia is a very long time, in terms of rapid change that is certain to happen here. 20 more years of Global Warming, for example, will impact this area severely. Maybe we are bound to see more moving of major cities, even. This place does not seem as stable as it one did, several decades ago.

I had an ex GF who’d wait till i was asleep before launching a physical attack on me while i slept next to her! How could she have loved me? After i woke she’d immediately deny it. I needed to be ‘punished’ for not personalising a compliment to a dress or liking a social media photo etc etc… really small stuff. I ran away in the end when she asked for a baby after only being with her for 10 months (a month of which we split and she contacted another man and also went on holiday to a place i told her i desired going to). The tantrums she threw was phenomenal and would embarrass any 3 year old!

His idea of "buy more land each year" in Asia is just not legal, at present. No reciprocity of property rights. He must not have learned a damned thing. The condos are a dumb idea. You will lose everything (as intended by the Xeno Thai government). If he put ANYTHING in the name of a Thai bar girl, then he was incredibly stupid, sorry.
