- The project is a run-of-the-river 330 MW Hydro Electric Project and is located in Tehri/Pauri Garhwal District of Uttarakhand on the river Alaknanda, Shrinagar. This six minute film captures the challenges of building a hydropower plant and how GVK successfully overcame these and commissioned it.
Great salute to GVK taking so many challenges and finally executing it. My village is nearby to the project and I had seen those challenges before my eyes faced by the GVK. Also a big thanks for restoring the Maa Dhari Devi Temple. Thanks Rreddy Sir. Loved your commitment.

To avoid silt flowing to the tarbines and damaging the tarbines.
There is a lot of silt, which is affecting the reservoir capacity. Alaknanda river flow is steep and all the silt accumulate at Srinagar which is plane area considering the hill area in Chamoli district.

In this video they said, "The GVK company has quite literally moved mountains to bring light into the lives of the people", but what is the necessity to move mountains??? Have the common people asked to construct these types of dangerous n devastating dams?? We will come to know when the mother nature washed out this dam in one fine day n causes death thousands of people then slowly we realize.

It's is overview beauty and I accept that. but GVK company only see own profit, they did not complete there work, ex- they did not develop the local area, not even a single tree has been planted, water problem, here all roads like a worse road. you don't say that "is it a road?"
they give a 60cm dai pipeline to the Srinagar Garhwal water corporation, because of political issues, But they did not give water where they construct the dam.
those people who come to see the dam from outside also get upset with this road.
Roads condition is worse than bad, no proper safety wall near the canal, big crakes are coming in the canal walls, which can I see. but we have no idea what will happen inside the canal.
A day will come when someone falls in canals, then they will come to their sense.
When this project is under construction I was a teenager, but now I am an adult. I know what is right and what is wrong.
