    I have comprehension problems
    And my school drags out the explanations of problems SO LONG to where I can no longer grasp the concept and I struggle really bad
    And this actually helps cause its to the point. I can stay with it without feeling stupid for not being able to grasp a 15 minute long problem

    How would you find the temperature if you are given :
    1. cold water
    2. hot water
    And you are said to find the final temperature after mixing the cold water with hot water.
    I am a bit confused how to solve for the final temperature.

    Great video! But for the first example for the T-final - T-initial aren't you supposed to do 37.2 - 22.5? Instead of 22.5 - 37.2? I am just wondering! I hope you get a chance to see this:))

    Hello.
    In the video you calculate specific heat given "q", the change in teperature and mass.
    How, would you calculate the specific heat of a cube of an unknow material ?
    To do that I give you a termometer, a source of heat, a scale.

    A piece of copper having a mass of 1.5 kg is heated to a temperature of 150 degree centigrade and is then dropped into a thermoflask containg 0.85 kg of water at an initial temperature of water? Take Ccm = 0.378kj/kg degree centigrade and no heat is absorbed by the thermoflask.

    when 62.3g of a compound was burned in a bomb calorimeter that contains 0.500 L of water the temperature change of the water in the calorimeter was 48°c. how much heat does the water gained in the calorimeter?.

      Never mind, solved my own problem. I was moving too quickly. 37.2 C is the INITAL and 22.5 is the FINAL. Therefore, it makes sense. Wrote this out for anyone who is like me and confuses themselves easily! Lol!

    Hey my teacher just put "and the heat rises 15.0⁰C" how would I solve it? The question is "What is the specific heat capacity of silver metal if 55g of the metal absorbs 47.3J of heat and temperature rises 15.0⁰C"

    what if you only have one temperature?
    What is the final temperature of a substance that absorbs 2.5 x 103 joules of heat when a sample of 1.0 x 104 g of the substance starts at a temperature of 10.0 0C with a specific heat of 0.00416 J g/C? Do not include units or sig. figs. in your answer.

      Use the same formula but in this case you are solving for T2 remember the change in temperature can be rewritten to T2- T1 in your case your unknown is T2. You would write T2- 10.0 C and solve for T2
