Thanks a lot!! We’re learning on the fly. Very true…Even though we get on each other’s nerves(like any relationship) our genuine friendship keeps the marriage chugging along in the right direction. Thanks for the kind words and encouragement
I’m pretty sure you can remove the pins on the bottom of your bucket or forks. Drive in, roll forward on your bucket and then lower the bucket at the front end loader will detach from the bucket and then to install, just roll forward on the arms, drive up to the hooks, roll back, lift and then pin.
Come on Scott… “CONTENT” we had our RUclipsr hat on …😉😂 But seriously, you’re correct and that’s how I normally swap front end attachments. But it’s a PITA sometimes trying to navigate around the ramps(when I’m in lazy mode) and sometimes I intentionally make it harder for myself just for reps(workout mode)🤪
@@ScottBalkum Bad RUclipsrs… you are absolutely correct sir! Especially when we have cell service driving up to the property on Saturday’s. Thank you Scott for the good counsel. Not only are we rookies on the homestead, we’re also RUclipsr rookies😂. Thanks again man !!!

You’re right, we do! And yes they are $$$ Apple just launched their satellite iMessage for texting only which helps. We can make wi-fi calls on Starlink( other iPhones and WhatsApp only). And we do have a pair of basic walkies, but they are not reliable with the line of sight issues we have up here with the trees and mountains. We’re going to need a multilayered approach to cover as many scenarios as possible due to the remoteness… “ we out’chere”🤣😂

I love that you did rock all around the house. In the recent fires, the homes that didn't burn down had rock/concrete all around them, with very little to no vegetation.

No they were 2 hours away. But the Hughes Fire was a few miles from our city home. The Borel Fire(last year) came really close to the homestead. We were very lucky😰
As far as emergencies, might I suggest getting a satellite phone or I know that with Verizon you can locate a satellite, maybe that acts as a satellite phone.
Thanks for the suggestion😊Luckily Apple just did a deal with Starlink to where now you can text via satellite. Calls will be available soon supposedly. We are able to make calls via wi-fi, so that helps. Thanks again and thanks for watching and commenting.
@@robertosantinni9656 Thanks for asking! Yep the Hughes Fire in Castaic came very close to our place in LA. We were lucky. That makes 2 fires in a 2 year span that came within a few miles of taking us out.
I had to switch phone providers or drive 45 mins to get a signal. As long as the panel frames have continuity to the frame it is a quick short ground wire. You might have to update the batteries, download it at home. I hope you are not in the Ponderosa it's dead cell signal area there. Maybe buy a quality power bar with a breaker, cut the plug and put it on Leg2 till you get the wire to the house panel. Just a lazy subscriber watching you do all the work. Maybe if you contact any local builders they might know where to get cheap rocks, I pay $240 for 18 yards.

Celebrate milestones. You need a satellite phone. However, they are expensive. Also, get walkie-talkies.
