It’s absolutely heavenly being shown around your mothers garden , I would be in heaven if I had that amount of space as I want every plant I see , I think it’s an illness called , I must have it . But I would want you and your mothers brains as because of an illness I have trouble remembering the names of all my plants until I am not trying to remember what it’s called then it comes to me when not really needing to know . But I am enjoying these videos very much Jean x
Thankyou Jean x

Hello Wichita! X
Love your Mum's garden.. You come by your passion for plants + droll sense of humour honestly... : ) Parrotia is a favourite tree of mine, (* nice stamenate, deep red flowers in late winter, as well as fall glory), as well as the aromatic Katsura... Neighbour C. 'Princess Diana is called Rhodochiton... a whimsical annual vine. Many thanks to you and your Mum for sharing her fabulous tips... and a splendid tour of her lovely garden. XX

Your mother is such an inspiration. I wonder if its possible to improve the sound quality when she is speaking. I'm almost same age but quite deaf. My tiny garden keeps me sane.
it's better now I have some microphones - this clip was made in the pre-microphone days x

Thank you so much for your response. I only found your videos last week so have many more to go. Your videos are without doubt the best I've watched. Your humour and joy walking around your garden in all seasons is so uplifting.
Your artistic floral arrangements remind me of a medieval painting.
I only took up gardening in my late seventies after my husband died. Better late than never. I now watch gardening programmes with the zeal of an addict.
South Africa has such an abundance of fauna and flora. The majestic Agapantha a name which is so appropriate. Yet I miss the gentle beauty of the humble Buttercup and so many memories of roaming the Shropshire countryside.
Best wishes from a wet and windy Cape Town
Totally in love with your mother's garden. I may have missed the description, but what shape is it? Rectangle, etc. With all the twists and turns it hard to get a mental image. Beautiful space. Love the fartichokes!
It’s a long triangle xxx about half an acre I think x
Ceradiphyllum? Is that Katsura? It took me several years to figure out what smelled so good. Hard to believe that dieing leaves can small like cotton candy?burnt sugar?pumpkin spice leaf mold? Hard to describe but divine
