I just want to say thank you SO much for posting this series! My cousin just let me have his 1989 Elite that had been sitting in a barn for years, and I am attempting to restore it. I'm not the most experienced in mechanical things but am always excited to learn, and there isn't a ton of clear/thorough content out there on this bike. Appreciate your attention to detail and advice!
Good job! I just finished with my 89 Elite E and sold it. Same thing it had been in storage for years. Agreed you've got to take a few extra steps to make it right.
I saw your Elite E. It looked really nice! Your ads I'm definitely not referring to when I slam the ones that offer bikes that are completely neglected and being sold for top dollar! I appreciate the work you do offering scooters that HAVE been serviced and are ready to enjoy! Not the daily crap I've been seeing mostly lately! Poor people who buy the garbage ones to find out the hard way what not to buy!
Curious if you know what the vacuum line on the intake box does/is for. I have the same scooter and it's got me stumped as it doesn't look like it's for anything 🤣
We Ihave the pink one and the black one with the pink cording.. The black ones plastic piece in the back has some cracks. Where did you say you get the replacement plastic parts?
@@rubytheelite lol I know! I did have a guy contact me last night with pictures, he has everything I need! One question, where did you get the replacement carb? I've looked all over and can't find the correct one.

Hello, I’m the grandmother working on the exact same scooter. My issue is instead of turning over to start, it just makes a clicking sound. I replaced the starter relay with a brand new one but that didn’t make any difference. Am I needing to purchase a new starter then, and if so would you know the model number needed please? Also, the battery I purchased last year is a gel battery, what type or where did you get your battery? Thank you for your help!
Here is a awesome link that will show you the parts breakdown of any Honda scooter. This is great for finding part numbers and then searching Ebay and other resources for the parts. It sounds like it could be a starter. Have you purchased a service manual for the scooter? If not purchase one. This as you know from watching my videos is rule #1. Buy a service manual. It will give you steps to try and figure out your issues. Really though it's really hard to determine issues without seeing them first hand. I hope this helps! Good luck! www.hondapartsnation.com/oemparts/c/honda_scooter/parts
Everytime i clean out my gastank with acid i rinse with baking soda then coat with wd40 or marvel mystery oil.. then fill up gas. It always soon after rusts back up.
Really? Mine looks perfect inside right now. I dried the tank out with my heat gun and immediately after sprayed the WD40. As you know..The acid gets rid of all the big chunks of varnish and rust. I guess if there is a little surface rust its still better than all he guck that was in there initially.
@@rubytheelite yep. Added clear lines and inline filter so i can monitor little better...,If you’re looking for a new Gas cap.I used a A chrome one of a motorized bicycle gastank. Looks nice And vents good
Looks good! Check out the youtube channel called "RetroHax" and his video "Smashed up Road Rash Scooter Fairing Restoration". He does a really cool job of "welding" a scooter fairing back together again by using/melting zip ties into the crack to form a welded joint . I couldn't believe how wel it worked and how strong it was. Sounds like you've got a new one ordered but may be worth trying on the old cracked one just for fun. KT
Hello Falcon! In 1994 the engine completely changed. Your bike is nothing like any of my bikes if it's a 98. The only part that's the same plastic wise is the handlebar plastic. The engine and transmission are different. Nothing I have will help you.

The only place to buy any parts for these old scooters is on eBay. Honda no longer carries these old parts.
