Nah, I'm done for anyone speaking for me or mines... I'm a 5th generation Kansan on my maternal grandparents side, they came in the Exoduster movement. My maternal grandmother's side are natives from Oklahoma. My paternal grandparents side were slaves in Texas, cowboys, and blacks from northern Mexico. My paternal grandmother is mixed race. Now instead of giving everyone a history, I just say I'm black...but that is not a monolith, and many of us don't share the same history. We just share color, which has little depth or substance. I'll speak for my own people, I don't need a "black" delegation speaking for me. I think those sisters are talking about global blackness, not just American blackness. Yes, definitely, black Americans can define black Americanness, but not what it means to be black globally. There are plenty of blacks outside of America.
But most "black" people outside of America didn't star identifying as "black" until fairly recently, about 2010.

I'm a 5th generation Kansan on my maternal grandparents side, they came in the Exoduster movement. My maternal grandmother's side are natives from Oklahoma. My paternal grandparents side were slaves in Texas, cowboys, and blacks from northern Mexico. My paternal grandmother is mixed race.
Now instead of giving everyone a history, I just say I'm black...but that is not a monolith, and many of us don't share the same history. We just share color, which has little depth or substance.
I'll speak for my own people, I don't need a "black" delegation speaking for me. All everyone wants to talk about is being oppressed...I'll pass, I love everything about me, my people, and what we overcame.

This conversation is disappointing because this channel usually tries to unite the diaspora. I'm Black from Canada (we are often forgotten). Some of us have the ancestry of enslaved Black Americans... are we, not Black? Docile Black people? All over the diaspora, we've never been a race of people who sat down and shut up. Read about every slave rebellion, every uprising today... like c'mon. Also, if you really research, our cultures are intertwined, and we have borrowed, shared, and created with each other since we were split up. I acknowledge Black American culture is its distinct culture, but you don't get to decide what "Blackness" is. Also, it's being AMERICAN that gives you the privilege, not your Blackness.
