  • Last week the team was hanging out talking about ways that we can do a better job at connecting more with our fans and giving an inside look and perspective of our day to day reality. A lot of my followers on RUclips are new here.
    So let's get into it. Behind the scenes, uncut, and unfiltered with the boys. Everything from the behind the scenes, the people who make our programs run seamlessly, and the reality of the stress... pressure, and fulfillment of running a Formula Drift Pro team.
    Who should we chop it up with next?

    I love this segment. You should make more of these and call it drinking with drivers.
    You can make it a podcast too

    The perfect person for the job as a FD judge that was a driver and I'm personally a fan of is Chelsea Denofa. I've been watching a ton of drifting media and I see him as the perfect fit. Just an opinion, love the videos keep up the great content.

    Great video, I think a lot of the Drift series needs a committee that helps FD around rules etc and have it made up of team owners, spotters, lead mechanics, drivers etc so they get a perspective from the coal face of the series who have a invested interest in making it work

I just dont want to impose on my wife more and have the financial stuff go away for my 6 kids till i can get sorted. I would like to take a class about making myself more at home with it.

    As a fan what i find irritating with the new rules this year is most of the calls arnt making sense. A run where the crowd is on their feet cheering like crazy for a drivers agression, proximity, and angle and then the judges give it to the other guy, then 99% of the crowd is like “uhhh what the fuck? How? Why?” And then we are all pissed off and confused

  • @ScottyBSim

    Judging for sure is definitely the biggest issue. It's loosing touch with the essence of drifting. What gets fans and drivers alike the most excited? What makes you scream like a little girl when you get back to the pits and get out of the car and talk to your buddy? Close tandems right? Door touching unreal, unbelievable close battles... judging needs to encourage this, I reckon a judging order of proximity, then angle, then line would encourage close battles but keep things looking good and keep them close. But overall in judging they need to adopt a bit of a innocent until proven guilty mentality... who in what circumstance is innocent until proven guilty then you can set better expectations on the lead driver and the chase is more confident to get close and the judge will be forced to make the same decision in the same situation every time, because the other guy was innocent until they obviously made a mistake. Creating situations where someone, particularly the lead, is not allowed to do something, they definitely did that, the chase may or may not have done something... innocent until proven guilty, lead was definitely guilty of ... so bam guilty... consistent every time (not every I know but...) take some of the impartiality out. Make it hard and fast. You do this and contact happens that we cannot discern guilt for that, you have been told in advance your getting pinged for that! Focus that on the lead and the chase will get better!

    Drifting is getting too hard for Joe public to understand! They need average Joe from the crowd to give their opinion on calls. You shouldn't need to be a die hard fan following all the rounds to understand calls.

    Chase drivers filling outer zones is a band aid to guys like Hughes who sacrifice angle for proximity. Not maintaining angle is point loss. Hearing this is such a judging cop out

    So running two tires off is going backwards? As you improove your skills you want more precision and less tires off right, so how its going backwards? So, four tires off in the future ll be ok ... I stop following FD because judging, too much ads and that comentator trying to minimize his friends mistakes all the time.

  • @corex72

    The reality of drifting for these two is that they don’t have the personality for it anymore. You have to be a RUclipsr now you have to have followers you have to be exciting and they just aren’t.

    • @144.natehamilton
      @144.natehamilton 7 дней назад

      I would say... I don't agree. Let's not forget about DRIVING. RUclips is amazing and the following and funding that is returned by the RUclips world can be greatly beneficial. But for that to overshadow GREAT DRIVERS that put all their focus into becoming drivers... That would be a shame. Let's respect the RUclips world and also respect core drivers.
      Another side note i'm slightly living thru... Being a driver first and a RUclipsr second is real real difficult. Being a RUclipsr first and Driver second is real real difficult. It's all gnarly and anyone playing the game is winning in their own way.
