I like how all the game is designed to be annoying in a entertaining way like don’t take me wrong the game is gold and the soundtrack is acurate and awesome 👏 it’s just that the shiny colors and the sounds make it hard to the eye but in a funny way and it gets so hard that you’ll know what the farm struggle feels like. Anyway my favorite is bundertakers theme .
I always replay Bundertaker, it’s so good! Also that ending to Corpse-a-copia is a masterpiece, the way it speeds up and then cuts off really reflects emotions when beating that boss

This slaps, it's impossible to be sad listening to all these themes and it's helping me through tough times. Love the game, but I love the music even more and if it weren't for it I probably wouldn't have cared about the game. Every time the game is on, I can't help but pay more attention to the music than what's happening, it's too good.

Definitely a contender for one of the best OSTs of all time. Can't think of any songs I don't like and it certainly stands out from other soundtracks. I don't know if this was intentional, but Winter Festival almost sounds like a final celebration. If this was intended, then I applaud it because it certainly helped catch me by surprise with the realization the game wasn't over.

Thanks :) yeah, from a "technical standpoint" I essentially wanted the music to give room to the sound effects the further you dive into dangerous zones to guide the player a bit more. As well as give a "oh, I'm a far away from home now" vibe!
I've been playing video games fairly obsessively for 25+ years now. I have a massive collection of games. My steam account alone has 797 titles on it as of this writing. The only reason I mention any of this is because when I think about it as hard as I can, there are only really 2 games that I kept coming back to solely because the soundtrack was so good. Mr. Turner, you made both of those soundtracks. I mean this from the bottom of my heart when I say that you truly have a talent for figuring out what a game SHOULD sound like. Bravo.

I was debating whether or not to get Atomicrops, but after seeing Joonas as the guy behind the OST I was immediately sold. Definitely one of the most memorable soundtracks I've ever heard!
i was looking for this killer soundtrack for a long time, i allredy lost hope of someone dumping it from the files and suddenly it appears on my recomendeds, uploaded by the creator itself, what a gift holly crap, i nhoppe more people find how darn good this music is, i love the country vibe it gives so much, also for the love of god slow down the fucking spider, is imposible to beat it on high years
This soundtrack is surreal. The unique, dynamic, and even chaotic vocals/instruments you bring give off an energy that I've never felt before... And none of it feels out of place with the game itself. As a music enthusiast with some past experiences in percussion, you are half the reason I'm addicted to Atomicrops, and I'm excited to see where else you may take your talents!

Atomicrops sure is one of those games that would sound weird in paper but is good when implemented, the idea of the game is pretty good and i would buy it if i had money to buy it, but that out of the way, the game is pretty good but DAMN, the music pretty good and it fits the game so well. Thank You :) glad to hear you like it! Ah, indeed, originally we had a fifth season that got cut out and I had already written, recorded, mixed and mastered the music for it so rather than cutting it all out I thought to keep it as a "small easter egg" of sorts (:
I absolutely adore what you did with the music for this game. Did you have any particular inspiration for the music's motifs? I'm particularly invested in the vocalization and chanting for Monstropod! Like, this music is incredibly unique and I can't stop coming back here to listen to it again and again

With the music I had a few design ideas that I followed: -It had to be all acoustic* and played with the mentality that it's music by mutant vegetables so I deliberately played some lines a bit "close enough" to give a slightly "shaky" feel here and there. As well as I would sometimes tune the instruments slightly off and try to compensate by playing the notes a bit differently (with stringed instruments I would try to bend the note into tune etc). *although with the 'Atomicats console' music I used analog synthesizers to give it a "console-like" sound as it's a electronic device in the game! -I wrote a written & spoken language for the game which the inhabitants of the game use, all the singing is in this language. It's a very simplified "who & what" kind of a syllable system. -I wanted to use kinda "more traditional" chords and voicings but I used a bunch of passage/"chromatic" changes and notes to give a "oh we are going where?!" feel every now and then :D heh, although I have to say that I am not that deep into more traditional music theory as I've learnt everything myself with ""my own system"" which I guess is more based on relations between interval lengths but that's all primitive and very "in my head" hahahah.... .... .... .... -At the time of writing the Atomicrops music I was really inspired by Bob Dylan, The Beatles as well as the Hearthstone (game) music and The Neverhood/Skullmonkeys (games) music a bit :) mainly Bob Dylan (Highway 61 Revisited Album) though oddly enough! I kinda wanted to lean towards that certain "laidback yet rowdy" feel of that album if that makes any sense!
Oh and to reply to the Monstropod chanting, if I recall right (I don't have my language sheet with me right now) it's the mutants singing about "we're the dangerous enemies" and then "give give give" (as the boss's slugs want to eat your crops) :D heh
That's absolutely outstanding, and the immense attention to detail is really what distinguishes your music from other soundtracks for me. ALSO I guess that means that the "nonsense" lyrics for the Winter Festival song are actually in this dank Joonas Language, huh?

Thank You :) Ah yes, that was originally more of a sketch of an idea if there was a Bundit king/leader/or so and you got to meet/fight them or so if I recall right. The song was already in a state of "might aswell finish it and add it onto the soundtrack" so that's what I did :D it was some time ago though so I don't remember the exact details as it was such a passing thing! As for the translation, I do have a translation somewhere (sadly not with me now) but referencing "the dictionary" it's along the lines of: "Run away(/flee) my friend ha haa, shoot shoot and explosion, give us treasure, weapon gonna get you* a-haa, bad shooty shooty danger, give us treasure friend thank you, scram get out, we gonna give you danger" continued with pompous joy :D and then in the end "oh friend oh friend" hahah *direct translation: weapon give (as an action) in general the "language" is very 'applicable', here's a link where you can stop to look at the very few words I ducktaped together: ruclips.net/video/MZvcTSgnIIY/видео.html Glad to see the interest in this :) thanks again!

Arctic Chill is my favorite. Starts with a sound similar to a siren, according with the nuclear thematic of that biome.

Like, this music is incredibly unique and I can't stop coming back here to listen to it again and again

With the music I had a few design ideas that I followed:
-It had to be all acoustic* and played with the mentality that it's music by mutant vegetables so I deliberately played some lines a bit "close enough" to give a slightly "shaky" feel here and there.
As well as I would sometimes tune the instruments slightly off and try to compensate by playing the notes a bit differently (with stringed instruments I would try to bend the note into tune etc).
*although with the 'Atomicats console' music I used analog synthesizers to give it a "console-like" sound as it's a electronic device in the game!
-I wrote a written & spoken language for the game which the inhabitants of the game use, all the singing is in this language. It's a very simplified "who & what" kind of a syllable system.
-I wanted to use kinda "more traditional" chords and voicings but I used a bunch of passage/"chromatic" changes and notes to give a "oh we are going where?!" feel every now and then :D heh, although I have to say that I am not that deep into more traditional music theory as I've learnt everything myself with ""my own system"" which I guess is more based on relations between interval lengths but that's all primitive and very "in my head" hahahah.... .... .... ....
-At the time of writing the Atomicrops music I was really inspired by Bob Dylan, The Beatles as well as the Hearthstone (game) music and The Neverhood/Skullmonkeys (games) music a bit :) mainly Bob Dylan (Highway 61 Revisited Album) though oddly enough! I kinda wanted to lean towards that certain "laidback yet rowdy" feel of that album if that makes any sense!
Oh and to reply to the Monstropod chanting, if I recall right (I don't have my language sheet with me right now) it's the mutants singing about "we're the dangerous enemies" and then "give give give" (as the boss's slugs want to eat your crops) :D heh
That's absolutely outstanding, and the immense attention to detail is really what distinguishes your music from other soundtracks for me.
ALSO I guess that means that the "nonsense" lyrics for the Winter Festival song are actually in this dank Joonas Language, huh?

Yeah :D all the singing is in the same language and is translatable, the winter song is roughly:
"I buy, you buy, give give treasure hah hah haa" and then "Enemy!! Flee Flee Enemy!! We won't give (our treasure away)" :D hahah

the Bundit theme, at 12:25, cant think of anywhere that would have played. is it just bonus or would it have once played somewhere? and if there is one, do ye recall a translation for it?

Ah yes, that was originally more of a sketch of an idea if there was a Bundit king/leader/or so and you got to meet/fight them or so if I recall right. The song was already in a state of "might aswell finish it and add it onto the soundtrack" so that's what I did :D it was some time ago though so I don't remember the exact details as it was such a passing thing!
As for the translation, I do have a translation somewhere (sadly not with me now) but referencing "the dictionary" it's along the lines of:
"Run away(/flee) my friend ha haa, shoot shoot and explosion, give us treasure, weapon gonna get you* a-haa, bad shooty shooty danger, give us treasure friend thank you, scram get out, we gonna give you danger" continued with pompous joy :D and then in the end "oh friend oh friend" hahah
*direct translation: weapon give (as an action)

did try to make a bundit leader, using the original/first bundit drawin, so feels cool to hear that there WAS once gonna be a bundit leader.

That track was made for an update after the main game was released and wayyy after the compilation of this 'Original Soundtrack' album :o although I might upload it here too some day :)

what is the tranquil moon music called
Tranquil Moon was made for a DLC which was after the release of this soundtrack (which was released in parallel to the game releasing). I've been pondering about releasing Tranquil Moon as its' own song here at some point :) most probably after the Summer :o
