Ed O Neill is such a legend. Not only starred in two iconic sitcoms Married with Children and Modeen Family but let us not forget about the immortal 90s masterpiece Little Giants either.
I'm from Youngstown where Ed is from. Him and my dad played football together at ursaline. My dad passed away when I was 12, and I would love to meet Ed O'Neill one day just to hear some high school football stories.
I knew him when I attended YSU in the 70s when he ran Kilkawley Student Center. That show was so funny I used to have to record it because I'd be laughing so hard I would miss most of the program.
Rivaling (maybe surpassing) the Chris Farley story; is when Pat McCormick (writer for Johnny Carson) had his baby baptized. The story goes, the ritual had been rehearsed and at a given point, Pat is supposed to bring the baby to the altar. During the actual ceremony, he goes to fetch the baby and returns with it on a silver platter surrounded by vegetables. Don't know for positive if it's true...but it's a great story!
I love that Ed isn't a hollywood guy, he doesn't hang with the stars, he just is a normal person, who doesn't know many of the stars, who isn't up on current events or people or singers or other such. He just works and goes home. Sooo many stores of Ed running into stars and not knowing who any of them are at all. No clue who Brittney Spears was, no clue who Taylor Swift was when he met her, etc. Not a clue.
Walked into the men's locker room of the Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Academy in Torrance, CA one morning. It was a weekday and it was for the morning beginners class. There is no one in the locker room except Ed O'Neil and Rorion Gracie. I say "Good Morning" to the two gentleman and sit down. Ed O'Neil reaches out his hand and says "Hi, I'm Ed" and then Rorion reaches out his hand and says "Hello, I'm Rorion." I responded with "Hi, I'm Dave." Yup, just three ordinary dudes in a Jiu-Jitsu locker room! Lol (Rorion and Ed train together come to find out and Ed is a GJJ Black Belt).

My favorite Ed O Neill story now makes sense! Ed was at an airport, and a pretty young woman came up to him and said how much she was a fan and could she get a picture with him? Ed, despite being tried and grumpy ,said sure. She sat on the arm of his chair and got the picture, and someone took a picture with Ed's phone. So Ed was showing his daughter the picture of the young woman who was so excited to meet and him kinda grumbling about it, his daughter looked and said dad that's Britney Spears!
I love that al Bundy love him I would have never ever would have started watching modern day family I looked at Sofia for a min but as soon as I seen ed I was like yep let's go I've watched every episode just like SOA
Why do most hollywood actors over 40 look as if their faces were melting, you honestly ask to yourself, how did this person managed to show his face on public media
I loved ed O’Neill but after I saw the video of what a jerk he was to a fan simply asking for an autograph cancelled him for me. Wasn’t like the fan bothered him at dinner or interrupted him during something important. He was such a d..k head in that video, it ruined someone I used to love.
