peter tosh was a genius. these lyrics are the kind you won't find in many songs these days - bold, political, controversial, and militant....and put to some really cool music...you gotta love it.

Our poets and prophets die young because we don't protect them. The message makes the greed mongers uncomfortable.

I am an African man born in America/ Turtle Island: (Apalachicola). You are so right I claim the whole Planet.
As a Anthropologist I must say this.
All Human gene expression is African. The source of all Humanity starts in Africa. We anatomically moderns are a part of a single line of decent. We all are Homo sapien sapein. Some of us are A HOLES this is TRUE but!, we are one species. There is less than 3% difference in our own gene expression an any other Human on this planet.

I know James Brown is Soul Brother #1 and in my opinion Curtis Mayfield is Soul Brother #2 so we're just gonna have to call brother Pete Soul Brother #1.5

Think if your forefathers were traded as slaves, or if they were colonized, and if that resulted in your selfdenial. Then you can find the answer to your question yourself. Peace!

Montreux Jazz Festival, Peter Tosh, Creme de le Creme of anyone as a reggae musician at that time (yep musicians, true live & direct, raw but repeated and mastered, with a fantastic sound tuning like that rarely exist today), Sly and Robbie on D&B ... I mean what else do you need?
Watch the full concert if you have not, get up, stand up particularly is my fav for this 79 Montreux live.

Baba Peter Tosh is so clinical.
Baba Tosh tells us straight up that we are Africans no matter what.
Accra to Timbuktu & Addis Ababa to Toronto we are Africans Ase.

Since the very first forefathers came from Africa, we are ALL African. No matter your color.
Keep that in mind and remind others and we will get along with all just fine.
    Peace & Blesses
