Hi! I will also be a first year kinder teacher. You mentioned using dry erase markers on your laminated sheets. If you won’t be rewriting things too often…use a sharpie! When you want to remove it color over the sharpie with an expo marker and then it will come off!

I just finished student teaching and my mentor teacher put the student numbers on their pencils and if they still had their same pencil after a week they got a prize… it helped with responsibility and saved on pencils!! It worked awesome in second grade!!
That is a great idea! I may have to use that this year!
You can write the names on the crayons with a sharpie also. At the end of the year write over it with a dry erase marker and it will wipe right off, or another option is hand sanitizer will remove the sharpie for reuse.

Please rethink about posting the 'nice' poster on the wall and post the actual anchor chart you made with the students. It means so much more to them that they made. Something to think about.

Congratulations on your new job! Teaching in the district that you student taught in is such a blessing. You already know the culture and the climate of the building and there will be familiar faces. It’s definitely going to be a roller coaster ride but everyday that you can do hard things.

Love the posters for small groups! Definitely going to put my own spin on my small group rotations now.! Also got that first six weeks book from my new school-been teaching almost 10 years now-but so happy to hear even I can still learn new things so starting to read it tomorrow!
