Anti-Ship swords/Heavy Blades are probably my favorite close combat weapon in all of Gundam. Sure, there are many silly and cool weapons, but the AS-Sword/Heavy Blade is right up my jam, the kinetic tip combined with the beam blade just speaks to me.
Well, it relies on the armor instead of the frame for accenting the black and gray, and looks slightly note colorful as a result. I won't blame you even discounting your bias for green
Honestly I think the Rud-ro.A was always cooler than the shi-va from the Get Go. The Shi-va was always too try-hard to be cool but the Rud-ro.A, knew simplicity was key cuz...it's a knight. It doesn't take much for a Knight to be and look cool.
The fact that the P-Bandai color versions are arriving to me on September is crazy. The fact they are releasing on July next month. By the way if you are wondering why I bought them, it’s because I’m too lazy painting the Rudra
I can't wait until the Gelgoog Menace is released in the US. I'm looking forward to it, a lot. It is able to use the old wizard packs as well. That's a neat little feature
The compatibility is canon as well, which is nice. I get the excitement behind the Goog though, as I think it's the best kit the SEED Freedom roster has to offer so far

Ladies and gentlemen we finally get a recommended in the seed freedom model kit line! Maybe I'm somewhat biased because this has my favorite color which is green but I am seriously glad that we gotta recommend it out of at least one of these seed freedom kids after getting 4 suit yourselves. Glad to see that at least this one made it out okay aside from needing to buy more of this and then painting all of them so you can make the entire squad..... I pray for people's wallets lol. Nice review there!
Yep. The backpack is like the only problem of this kit, while the rest is basically sufficient. While it is recommendable enough to build out the full squad for those who want to splash out, I personally didn't do that. The intro was a photo edit made by a friend. Sorry to burst your bubble there
@@mj2005gundam On the one hand I was a little sad put on The Other hand no having someone edit in a good chunk of the Team there is a way more cost-effective way than having to buy all of them Then proceeding to edit all of their Colors and Finally make the entire squad. If these things were like in the same price range as like your typical army builders would be then this would be less of a strain on your wallet but since these are super important and big to the seed freedom movie yeah it's best to just buy one lol.
@@mj2005gundam pretty sure nobody stores their swords on the back with the guard facing outwards. Meaning they've reversed/flipped the position in their HG kits, because why would you want to reach the sword guard before the actual handle?

Though safest bet back then was to follow the instructions as the movie was still in theatres. Wonder what went on there... Funny, I've recorded the video with the sword stored with the handle forwards until I went back to check the manual thinking I did it wrong in editing. Guess now we know better 3 months later

Depends. Since the structure of this kit is identical to the Shi-ve.A, the head (if the neck can reach), legs, and backpack can be fitted onto universal standard kits. Though it's a case by case basis really

I use Mr Hobby Super Clear ones. As for degrading the plastic, just make sure you get an even coat with as few attempts as possible, as I found stripping and redoing solvents repeatedly will degrade the plastic
I dont know what should I do between buy 4 of this kits and paint them for full squad or just buy 1 and wait to see if Bandai will release the other 3 with different weapon. I just buy the red one and wow at how far hg has become.
Im always wondering tho, is the beam mantel didn't damaging the mobile suit at all. I mean in a anime or irl perspective. But seriously. This is a great kit
Keep in mind that the Black Knight Squad units are equipped with FT Armor, which nullifies beams. Even if the mantle can be used for cutting, it won't hurt them (if the plot stayed consistent at all)
Yes, the Rudra shares the same frame and backpack of the Shiva, so you can swap parts between the two. The hard points on the backpack are also your standard 3mm peg hole, so you can outfit it with other weapons if you wish

Amazing suit, and I am shocked at how durable it is, especially with how infamously weak the plastic-on-plastic SAS System is. I'm also equally astounded that me, a guy with no talent for videomaking or painting Gunpla, was able to get references to one of the best comedies in history into this great review. Although, I wonder, what paint quantities did you use for the other 3 Rudras? I want to get this squad of goobers on my shelf so they can give my Leo and Death Army a break from jobbing for photoshoots

It's the little things with all of these SEED Freedom kits that make them worse than everyone's making them out to be. I'm glad it's just the backpack that's the problem. Somehow the skirts are more solid here than on the Shiva despite using the same frame. I won't question why, as I'm glad to finally have an entirely solid kit for once

At least Shinn used a physical approach to taking them out as opposed to the rest being downed with beam weaponry. Also, the ultimate trick to beating a mind-reader is think dirty thoughts.
IDK, since all of them are nothing characters in the movie (even the instructions didn't bother to give Griffin Arbalest a character description). I won't mind a package deal though, as the kit is satisfactory

I was the opposite, knowing my melee bias. But just knowing how much better the Rudra kit is than the Shiva makes me like it more than the latter

Just get enough copies and paint them if you want the full squad that badly. I can confirm that they don't have different weapons each in the movie

Yes, the Rudra shares the same frame and backpack of the Shiva, so you can swap parts between the two. The hard points on the backpack are also your standard 3mm peg hole, so you can outfit it with other weapons if you wish
