    SHOW INTRODUCTION:
    If you’ve ever wanted to wake up from your dream state, then do we have The Way of Liberation show for you.
    Today I’ll be talking with the spiritual teacher Adyanshanti, author of two of the most beautiful and important books I’ve ever read, Falling into Grace: Insights on the End of Suffering , and The Way of Liberation: A Practical Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment .
    And that’s just what I want to talk with him about today, about a practical guide to spiritual awakening and enlightenment.
    MORE ON ADYASHANTI: www.dyashanti.org
    Adyashanti, author of The Way of Liberation, Falling into Grace, True Meditation, and The End of Your World, is an American-born spiritual teacher devoted to serving the awakening of all beings. His teachings are an open invitation to stop, inquire, and recognize what is true and liberating at the core of all existence.
    Asked to teach in 1996 by his Zen teacher of 14 years, Adyashanti offers teachings that are free of any tradition or ideology. “The Truth I point to is not confined within any religious point of view, belief system, or doctrine, but is open to all and found within all.”
    “Adyashanti” means primordial peace.
    Key Topics:
    • What Adyashanti was like as a child?
    • What he discovered about the world?
    • What his early spiritual experiences were like?
    • What did Adyashanti discover in a book by Alan Watts?
    • How did he get into Zen Buddhism?
    • What did he build in his backyard for meditation practice?
    • What is the “spiritual fast track”
    • What were his awakening experiences?
    • Why is it so important we wake up now?
    • What’s the importance of moving past our egoic minds?
    • What’s the importance of letting go of judgment of yourself?
    • What’s the importance of the question of being?
    • Why is it so important to know thyself?
    • Why is the question of being everything?
    • What does it mean to be sleep walking in life?
    • Why is it so important to awaken?
    • What are the three core practices for awakening?
    • What’s the importance of meditation?
    • What is meditation that helps with awakening?
    • How does one begin with this type of meditation (and for how long)?
    • What is the process of inquiry?
    • How does one begin the process of inquiry, and what can it be done on?
    • How does one balance inquiry with meditation?
    • What’s the importance of introducing a sentence or phrase into meditation?
    • What’s the importance of understanding what is looking through our eyes?
    • A guided meditation to help us begin the awakening process.

    When I was a child, I believed that the purpose of life was to play a character, because everyone was acting.

      When I was a child I used to "pretend" I was in a play because it felt easier to play the part expected. Gratitude you guys, kind gentle easy good...

    I watch a lot of interviews and podcasts on RUclips, but this one... You are one of the best interviewers I have ever seen. Well prepared, sharp questions perfectly asked to keep the flow going and enough silence to really let your guest shine through. Chapeau! And Adyashanti, as always, amazing. Namaste

    What is awakening

  • @imeldaclay1094
    @imeldaclay1094 7 лет назад +5

    I had an experience that I am everything, for a few minutes maybe more once, but it was after I took lsd, and was falling asleep after. This is not a joke, I really remember myself being everybody, even remember that a phone was ringing and I new that I am ringing.
    Since that did not have that experience and seemed very odd, did not tell about it to anyone. I was sure that it was just a high from the drug.
    Have to say that it was a one time lsd taking for me, I am not using any drugs usually, dont even drink or smoke or anything. It was in a party...
    Anyway, I am asking may it be that the lsd awakened a part of my brain that usially asleep? Could it be it was an awakening experience after all? Can it be that all the enlightenment state of mind is just peopls brain working differently?

    • @Kayelee75
      @Kayelee75 7 лет назад +3

      I had a similar experience and I understand your anxiety for answers. All I know is that such a state is all of what the teachings are talking about (Zen teaching,advaita, buddhism etc)and you can experience it through various tools (meditation,reiki healing etc).If you take this road your experience will be more stabilized and you will get to be familiar with it -and it requiers time and devotion out of a hot desire for truth.Such an experience will NOT APPEAR TO BE as vivid as with drugs but it will be felt tremendously real in your heart and your whole being. With drugs indeed you get your glimpse and it is as vivid as in a tv screen with too much colour,it looks fascinating. If you want it too much you ll do your enquiry and you will find treasures for life and hopefully beyond.Feeling honest with yourself deep inside and filled up with love that lasts is a good indication you are going well towards your goal. Hope this message helps.

      Kaye Lee Thank you for the answer.
      Actually ehat was funny is: backbthan when it happened, about a year ago I thought, wow I am so egoistic that when I take drugs I thibh I am everything! How terrible is that! And I havent told anyone about it. Hahaha
      Since than I had 2 more experiences, but not similar, I just felt absolutly nothing and atvthe same time very calm and relaxed and in the now. It was great, for a few minutes I felt that this us life and rhatvI am experiencibg my life. :)

      @Kayelee75 7 лет назад +1

      +Imelda Clay haha same here: years after this one intense experience I also had a couple of those you are describing! Very nice ,good luck and love on your journey.

    • @KungWu

      The true value of experiences is what has been revealed to you through those experiences. This particular experience seems to have revealed to you that you are everything, but the conditioned mind put doubt there to obscure the revelation. Also, be aware that you are that which is aware of all experiences. Trying to have awakening related experiences is not true awakening and it can become obstacles to spiritual awakening. Giving attention to what is revealed may lead you to the true answer of who or what you truly are. When the true answer is revealed and recognized through direct experiences, that recognition itself is spiritual awakening...
