Talent Freaks Season 2: Episode 4 - Molly B. Right

Molly B. Right was born in Greensboro, NC, and now lives in Charleston, SC. Her subject matter has ranged from vignettes of her childhood to minimalist figurative works. The leap from narrative paintings to her signature bottle cap portraits was inspired by a chance encounter with a large rust-stained piece of sheet metal. Right began using bottle caps to render her forms, eventually leading to entire pieces created from bottle caps. Her large- scale iconic portraits depict timeless figures such as Maya Angelou, Chuck Close, and Marilyn Monroe. Right’s work is often commissioned and can be seen at venues such as Ripley’s Believe It or Not in London and the SC State Museum.
