That was great. To me, your personal sharings are so much appreciated as it brings it to our everyday relative reality - and helps us on that level while at the same time shows us how we can include tools from the Ultimate reality to help in healing & transformation. No one (maybe Pema Chodron is good with that) that I have heard does that with the teaching as you do. Up close and personal yet transformational. So, when teachers just impart the teachings and do not include everyday examples from their own experience, to me, it is lacking. For it may become part of our belief systems which is not the same as knowing how these principles work when applied in our relative down-to-earth reality. Sooo, deep gratitude for you Jonathan Foust - beyond what words can really express. 🌺🙏💕🌱🌎
Your talk was so thought provoking, I do try to bring gratitude for something in everyday living but this isn't always with full meaning. I loved the practice of recalling gratitude is help with a current issue. I will have to do this again to over come a residue of anger, but this tool will help. I recognise the negative spiral and your words 'Is anything I do make any difference in the world?' Well Jonathan here is one person who has listened to many for your talks. I have put the points your teaching into practice is small ways and witnessed a domino effect on people around me. The words of the poem (reading)' You will lose everything' has set me up for the day, just listened to it 3 times in a row. Gratitudes: I have had the quietness and time to listen to this talk I am about to undertake a task that I really enjoy I will be surrounded by lovely people. I will probably be able to make someone smile today I am free form pain and suffering. Thank you
This is one of my favorite topics about the path. I seem to be a little obsessed lately with not forgetting about being grateful. So grateful for this talk haha. Thank you 🙏🏻
Thank you so much Jono. What you put out in the world matters. I just got to lay in my acupunture appointment with needles in me and listen to you. Very 🙏 grateful. Xo
There is so many things I would like to say about this talk. The main one is Gratitude for it. I was emotionally touched, the whole way through. What you experienced with your mum, I experienced it, too. I asked myself the same question and, it shifted. So powerful ! I am, literally, practicing Gratitude. When I started to look and, choose two values I wanted to live my life around, it took me ages ! There were so many ! It came out as : Courage and, Gratitude. Thank you, Jonathan, you certainly bring so much to us all and, I can't be grateful enough but, I sincerely, am 🙏
Thank you Jonathan for another wonderful talk. I am experiencing the same as you have with my mom. Her dementia is advanced and she has hallucinations. I just listen and follow along. It’s heartbreaking. She has always been so kind and full of gratitude, even in her later stages of her illness she still manages to say thank you when I adjust her pillow, or offers to make me some food when I visit her in the nursing home. Sometimes she drinks her “pretend” coffee and say yummm. What a beautiful and heartbreaking thing to go through. Love and gratitude to you and Tara.
Beautiful talk. So happy when you write a new talk. Every week I look forward to your sharing. Please list the name of the neuro-guy from Stanford whose podcast you enjoyed!
