The BDC [bullet drop compensate] accounts for the added distance from 100 - 200- 300- 400 - then 500 yards for 556. You still have to zero for 100 yards. Dialed mine in at 100 and works fine. 500 yard is all over the place though.
Thanks for the information. At the time of the review I had no way to test it beyond 100 yards. What was your experience at distances between 100 and 500 yards? Thanks for stopping by.
The only place i could do over 300 yards was windy on the day I went. At 300 was getting a 2 1/2 inch spread, past that was all over the place. Ballistics on my round showed a 4 - 4 1/2 foot drop at 500 however. Check out GunnersDen.com for the round you're shooting. Most are on it.
Great video. You provide so much more information about this scope versus the others who omit details or have no idea what the scope is used for. You do confirm it for a .223 caliber rifle. Thank you for reading the manual, and providing the specs and how to use it.
best review on youtube. I've see a ton of reviews of this scope here and everyone just unboxes and doesnt actually shoot the damn thing, pointless videos. however this video is the best one, thanks.
Put one on my .177 Diana CO2 pistol and it is now extremely accurate. Had a red dot on it and felt it had more potential - wow was I'm glad I gave this scope a try- thank you.
That's the best review I've seen yet on this product! Very thorough, no nonsense, very well-explained. I appreciate you, ARW! EDIT: I haven't heard that nail joke before, either! Ha ha! =)
When you mentioned this was a sponsored video the Jeffersons theme song came to mind as you are moving on up there. It is good to see you get some recognition and get a little something for doing this on top of all the relationships with that have been built over this. Bubba and Olle would be proud!
I ordered this scope last night and you helped me out alot on the railing I was doubting it would fit on my multi pump daisy powerline 35 this helped me out alot.
My CVLife 2.5-10x40e scope came today. I had to watch your video twice to see where the batteries went. Mine mounted on a Black Ops 22 Pellet rifle, looks good and works great. I'll sight it in tomorrow.
Good review. I use this on my AR -15. I would only use the laser for extremely close range. I have the same type of laser boresighter too. I got a Simmons 3x9 for my Marlin 60 that has the proper mount for that rifle.
Thanks so much I've had this scope for a couple of months now and its hunting small game like a charm so far never falled off my gun and fits perfectly👍
Thank you for that review I got so aggravated with the same scope because I couldn't even bore site it. I couldn't bring it down enough to use it. Now since you figured it out I see what might have been going on with me also, that drop compensator duhhh. Thanks I'm going to bring it back out now and see.
A knew wrinkle in a product can certainly catch us off guard. This is the first time I have used a scope with a bullet drop compensator so I certainly had no idea what the heck is was until I found the manual online. If it were set higher than 1 it could certainly mess up trying to zero the scope. Having said that I have had rails that ran a bit crooked and have had to shim a scope before. Please let me know what you find out and if it works out for you. Thanks for stopping by.
They're a great scope but batteries die quick on the scope so take out after use. I shoot with my AR-15 223 hit 300yrds no problem. Great for yote huntin. When you use the scope zoom dont adjust all the way. Keep it about 7-7 1/2
in between adjusting the scope, make sure you take something like a coin, key or spent shell and tap both adjustments... sometimes they can get hung up and gives inaccurate readings... I'd imagine you a thing or two about shooting so good review and good shooting!
I just installed this scope on my 9mm Carbine and haven't been to the range yet to try it out thank you for such a detailed explanation this will help me out siting in. Absolutely love the Roofing joke lolol I'm in the Roofing industry....
Seems a very reasonable scope. 100 yds usually needs a 6" raise with sights unadjusted from 25 I've found. Pretty acceptable results and quite versatile too.
I ordered that very same scope couldn't wait to get it. When it came in the box was bigger than expected. I get in to it and it was not the scope I ordered. So I hope you enjoy your free scope, it must have been the last one.
I would send it back and get the right one. If you got it through Amazon they will be interested in making good on the purchase. Thanks for stopping by.
Thanks so mucH for tHis video!! Really informative and I appreciate all tHe info you gave me, went out and bought one soon after. Keep it up! 👍🏽 subscribed and liked
I figure they sent you the red laser one! I have one that’s a different brand and it has the green laser which you can see in the day time! I really don’t have any use for a red laser! I have several guns with lasers on them and they are all green and you can see them really good in the day time! Great review!😎☠️🇺🇸🏴☠️☠️🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸☠️🏴☠️🏴☠️🏴☠️☠️
That is a good question. I have no idea and I doubt that any one does. I have never seen that brought up in anyone's scope review but then I have not watched them all. Thanks for stopping by.
It could be that the battery is low. Lasers use a lot of power and items that come with batteries often come with dead batteries. Thanks for stopping by.
Mine " was " installed on a 9mm PC Carbine. Housing for the red dot and color option dial broke loose after one day at the range and only 300 rounds down range. Looks like it is sold under different names / manufacturers also.
Need 3/8 or 11mm. Rail on the Marlin with weaver on top then use the scope on top of that. Marlin's microgroove rifling would have been more accurate than the 10/22 then again might just be the scope ✌
At 25 yards the red dot should be on the same location as the cross hairs. At 50 yards you cannot see the red dot at least not in the daytime. Look at a ballistics chart for 22LR and you can see that if you zero it for 25 yards you will be a little high at 35-40 yards and on zero again at 50 yards or near to that. By 100 yards the bullet will have dropped near 5 inches below zero. Of course this depends on the velocity as well. Sub sonic will drop more stingers will drop less.
I think the knob on the left will do that. It has been 3 years since this video and I no longer have the scope here. I think I gave the scope to a relative who needed one. I give the optics to various people now and then after all I cannot use that many optics. Thanks for stopping by.
how ya doing sir, i love this little scope, because, well its little and doesn't weigh much plus the laser is why i really got it and you can't beat the price either,so i got one for my new benjamin trail NP2 22 cal. pellet gun to play around with, but not knowing how to make adjustments on the top knob thats numbered 1-5 and since they don't include directions mine bot broke,so i bought another one.my question is what should i set the top knob to ? I'm just shooting up close at rats,I've got 22's and AR'S but this is for fun.so for a close range say no more than 50 ft.what should i set that knob on ? 1 ? and then take the top off and adjust accordingly ? thanks, nice video hope you enjoy yours.i like it a lot.
The knob numbered from 1 to 5 is for bullet drop compensation. The drop is calibrated for a .223 so it does not correspond to other calibers very well. Set it on 1 for anything under 100 yards as the 1 is for 100 yards with the 223 which has a very flat trajectory at 100 yards. Then the next setting 2 is for 200 yards with the 223. If you are shooting a pellet gun then it will maybe be useful at various distances but you will have to determine that with trial and error. Thanks for stopping by.
I think if somebody was to purchase one of these I think it should come w/new batteries that work not so the first thing I have to do is go purchase some. Was kind of irritating but the weather isn’t all that great rite now to go out shoot sight it in. Thank you for your input. I thought I got a shitty laser scope.
Thanks. I tend to think that I leave some things unexplained after it is all over. I am starting to think it would be better to write it all down. Thanks for stopping by.
Hello Harold, Looks like a nice scope for a twenty two. Here in Alaska you can't use any electronic aids when hunting (or that used to be the case it has been several years since I reviewed it) on your firearm. It would be fun at the range though or for plinking. Saw Miss Daisy making her presence (heard her click clicking too! Lol!). Still snowing off and on every couple of days. Broke down and ordered a DRO and power feed for the column mill drill finally. (Can't work outside so I justified it....). I was wondering since mine is essentially the same as yours if you can center the mill head with the DRO after moving it up and down? I am planning to mount my X like you did in the front to save my Y travel. Went back and reviewed your installation and The Lazy Machinist's. I have several 22's and one Winchester Model 131 bolt action that could use a scope (I have had a peep sight on it for years). Your last name wouldn't be Jones would it? Seems I am trying to keep up with you! Take care. Doug
I have never thought of trying to center the mill head with the DRO so I cannot answer that. You will wonder how you ever made it without a DRO once you get one. Funny that they don't allow electronics on the scope. Thanks for stopping by.
My scope should be arriving via UPS today. Will see how she checks out. Just an FYI, here's the link for the user manual: www.cvlife.com/collections/manual/products/manual-2-5-10x40e-riflescope Good review, sir. Thanks.
Yes I think it would be good for that. I have a relative who is using it on his AR15 right now. I do not know how much he shoots it but I have not heard a complaint. Thanks for stopping by.
This is from the Texas parks and wildlife website. Artificial light Artificial light of any form that casts or reflects a beam of light onto or otherwise illuminates a game animal or bird may not be used as an aid to hunt, except battery-powered scoping devices that project a light or dot only inside the scope; pin sight lights on archery equipment; or laser sighting devices used by legally blind hunters, or hunters who have a documented permanent physical disability that prevents them from using traditional firearm sighting devices. Non-protected nongame animals and fur-bearing animals may be hunted at night with the aid of an artificial light on private property. If hunting at night, please make a courtesy telephone call to your local game warden. I do not intend to search out any other states as that could take a while. Thanks for stopping by.
I have not had that problem so I can only suggest different scope rings. I had to come back and mention that if you have a picatinny rail you should be able to move the scope back a great deal. If you are using it on a 22lr rifle and you have the dovetail mount try a one piece airgun scope mount. They can move back a lot and they get a really good grip on the dovetail. Thanks for stopping by.
the laser is not removable but there's no need to remove it really doesn't get in the way at all lines up with zero perfect as well it's a nice scope I was actually surprised how nice it is for the money can't beat it
Those look to me like DirtyBird targets and I know you can get them at Academy Sport and outdoors and maybe even Wal-mart. I also have seen them listed at Midway gun parts and Amazon.
Considering the maximum magnification is 10x I would not think it is suited for very long distance shooting. If you want to shoot 200, 300, 500, 1000 yards you need more magnification. Thanks for stopping by Cristian.
I have Rifle Scope too.Could you test for me? link: www.amazon.com/sp?_encoding=UTF8&asin=&isAmazonFulfilled=1&isCBA=&marketplaceID=ATVPDKIKX0DER&orderID=&seller=AAXABHXU00RJH&tab=&vasStoreID= do you think a Give Away for Rifle Scope will be better? I am finding new products.so any suggestions will be appreciated. thank you very much. really sorry for the inconvenience.
You are quite right on that. I do not remember what context a 10/22 might have in this video. I hope you will pardon me but I just do not want to go back and rewatch it to see. Thanks for stopping by.
Nor the rifle, shooter or ammo were impressive to say the least. I would start by getting a decent bolt action with a good trigger and quality target ammo (Wolf or SK as a minimum or Eley Target. You don't have to buy a lot of ammo but at least the ammo factor is eliminated. The Bolt rifle is to eliminate the trigger factor (needs a decent rifle) and the rest is practice before he goes to laugh rabbits to deaths instead of shooting them.
A lot of my viewers have a 10/22 rifle and use regular off the shelf ammo. So I used what they use. You probably will not like this video any better but in the linked video I do use a couple of better rifles. I do not remember really well but I think I take some sighting rounds on each target to be sure where I am hitting so their are two groups on the targets. If this does not meet your approval maybe you can show me how I should how to do it. ruclips.net/video/cPdp4ZS1nwE/видео.html And here is another with a better rifle. ruclips.net/video/5HRGUcSEWrE/видео.html
I realize that I am the worst shooter at my shooting club but this was not a sharp shooting exhibition, this is just a scope demo. I admit I should have tried harder to shoot better but that was just not my purpose for the video.

My moa at 300 was almost hole in hole but works great. I dont use the drop at all. After 300 it gets kinda all over like he said.
that was a review, not when someone unboxing and telling you what you know already! THANK YOU!!!!
Thanks for stopping by.
Great video. You provide so much more information about this scope versus the others who omit details or have no idea what the scope is used for. You do confirm it for a .223 caliber rifle. Thank you for reading the manual, and providing the specs and how to use it.

Thanks for the kind words. I recommend Cyclops videos made by Joe Rhea. He does scope reviews much better than I do. Thanks for stopping by.

Fantastic review ! Thank you sir. I have 3 of these scopes and I'm pretty happy with them for out to 200 yards. For 50 bucks I can't complain.
Thanks John.
Thanks for the very detailed review. Great review sir.
I am glad you liked it I keep thinking their are things I should have done. Thanks for stopping by.
This is a damn good review
I am glad you liked it. Thanks for stopping by.
I loved my 10-22! I bought it, used, in the early 1970s and taught my kids how to shoot.
That is a fun rifle. Thanks for stopping by.
This is the best review on this scope I am new to using scopes and this help out alot I definitely will subscribe to you thanks alot
Welcome to the channel. Thanks for stopping by.
I just bought this scope and the laser, green, does work and can be seen in bright sun light on the target!
Taz that is wonderful. Most of them cannot be seen in daylight. Thanks for viewing.
Good review. I use this on my AR -15. I would only use the laser for extremely close range. I have the same type of laser boresighter too. I got a Simmons 3x9 for my Marlin 60 that has the proper mount for that rifle.
Most 22 LR like the Marlin have a dovetail in the top for a scope mount. Thanks for stopping by.
Just bought this scope for my 22 . What an excellent vid ! Can’t wait to get it and start throwing lead
I hope it does a good job for you. Thanks for stopping by.
Same mate boss gave me scope
Thanks so much I've had this scope for a couple of months now and its hunting small game like a charm so far never falled off my gun and fits perfectly👍

Thanks for viewing Kenneth.
Great video man, very detailed information, I really appreciate it. Thank you!
Thanks you for viewing.
Best review on this scooe Sir. Thank you dor your time
Thanks for viewing and commenting.
I was thinking about it, you convinced me.
Thanks for viewing.
They're a great scope but batteries die quick on the scope so take out after use. I shoot with my AR-15 223 hit 300yrds no problem. Great for yote huntin. When you use the scope zoom dont adjust all the way. Keep it about 7-7 1/2
All of the economy optics have a short battery life. Thanks for stopping by.
in between adjusting the scope, make sure you take something like a coin, key or spent shell and tap both adjustments... sometimes they can get hung up and gives inaccurate readings... I'd imagine you a thing or two about shooting so good review and good shooting!
I think I have had more comments on this scope than most so I guess people like the idea. Thanks for stopping by.
I just installed this scope on my 9mm Carbine and haven't been to the range yet to try it out thank you for such a detailed explanation this will help me out siting in. Absolutely love the Roofing joke lolol I'm in the Roofing industry....
Thanks for viewing.
Seems a very reasonable scope. 100 yds usually needs a 6" raise with sights unadjusted from 25 I've found.
Pretty acceptable results and quite versatile too.
how did you fair in the blow 0f 17 we got about 10 inches
Hi Monte - about 8+ here and then the wind really had fun with it!! It's gotten old for sure.
Yes it seems to adjust well for the distance. Thanks for stopping by.
its melting good here now . the wind could just stop and id be happy lol take care

how many joules of power does this scope hold with a gun?
That is a good question. I have no idea and I doubt that any one does. I have never seen that brought up in anyone's scope review but then I have not watched them all. Thanks for stopping by.
Laser worked before I put on my gun. Mounted on gun laser barely even works now. Brand new. WTF.
It could be that the battery is low. Lasers use a lot of power and items that come with batteries often come with dead batteries. Thanks for stopping by.
Oddly enough I accidentally found if you place the scope battery 1 way it lights red and the opposite way it lights green.
Sounds odd. Thanks Tonka.
Mine " was " installed on a 9mm PC Carbine. Housing for the red dot and color option dial broke loose after one day at the range and only 300 rounds down range. Looks like it is sold under different names / manufacturers also.

oh by the way, them lasers kill a battery quick!
Yeah but what the heck I don't plan to use the laser anyway. Thanks for stopping by.
Need 3/8 or 11mm. Rail on the Marlin with weaver on top then use the scope on top of that. Marlin's microgroove rifling would have been more accurate than the 10/22 then again might just be the scope ✌
Could be. Thanks for stopping by.
I just ordered 2 of those scopes Harold ! Thanks man .. Thumbs up ..
Please come back and report on your experience with them. Thanks for stopping by.
When your shooting at 25 and 50 where is the red dot at on the crosshairs
At 25 yards the red dot should be on the same location as the cross hairs. At 50 yards you cannot see the red dot at least not in the daytime. Look at a ballistics chart for 22LR and you can see that if you zero it for 25 yards you will be a little high at 35-40 yards and on zero again at 50 yards or near to that. By 100 yards the bullet will have dropped near 5 inches below zero. Of course this depends on the velocity as well. Sub sonic will drop more stingers will drop less.
Good review. I'm wondering if there is a way to turn the reticle illumination on and off without having to take the battery out? Thanks.
I think the knob on the left will do that. It has been 3 years since this video and I no longer have the scope here. I think I gave the scope to a relative who needed one. I give the optics to various people now and then after all I cannot use that many optics. Thanks for stopping by.

There was a lot of issues over the years on dove tails , poor quality, I ended up paying a smith to mount a pic. rail on mine now any scope will work.
That was a good move. Thanks gun.
I think if somebody was to purchase one of these I think it should come w/new batteries that work not so the first thing I have to do is go purchase some. They are about $45 on Amazon. Thanks for stopping by.
Did you try it on your Hi Point? If so, how did you like it. Thanks.

The zoom on my cv life. Is like dialing a turret changes poi
Is it the one reviewed above?
Would you use it on an AR 15?
Yes I think it would be good for that. I have a relative who is using it on his AR15 right now. I do not know how much he shoots it but I have not heard a complaint. Thanks for stopping by.
I have one on a ar15 with a bull baral works ok
nice scope....and think i work with buba and cooter

I have not had that problem so I can only suggest different scope rings. I had to come back and mention that if you have a picatinny rail you should be able to move the scope back a great deal. 2nd target grouping was good...it's your trigger squeeze.
Could be, I have to practice a lot. Thanks for stopping by.
Do they make one without a laser?
I do not know the answer to that. Thanks for stopping by.
that was sacrilegious... you called a Marlin a "10-22" hahaha I'm a die hard Marlin fan!! so to me that was just something I totally picked up on!
I started with the Marliin and switched because the mount would not fit so it was still on my mind. Thanks for stopping by.
Hello sir, Is laser removable?
I do not know the answer to that. I gave the scope to a relative who needed one so I do not have it here to examine it. Thanks for stopping by.
the laser is not removable
the laser is not removable but there's no need to remove it really doesn't get in the way at all lines up with zero perfect as well it's a nice scope I was actually surprised how nice it is for the money can't beat it
Filip Nikodijevic yes, but you need a buzzsaw.
Now THAT's funny!
Can you tell me if it is good looking to buy one for my personal use. you recommend it to me, yes or no
I love the two CVLife scopes I have. Thanks for stopping by.
Where can I get some targets like that?!
Those look to me like DirtyBird targets and I know you can get them at Academy Sport and outdoors and maybe even Wal-mart. I also have seen them listed at Midway gun parts and Amazon.
kinda 'rock'n around the clock' on that first 50yrd target
This video is so old I really do not remember the content so I will have to take your word for it. Thanks Crohkeor.
Is it great for far range to?
Considering the maximum magnification is 10x I would not think it is suited for very long distance shooting. If you want to shoot 200, 300, 500, 1000 yards you need more magnification. Thanks for stopping by Cristian.
@@AmateurRedneckWorkshop Alright then, thanks for the response.
Think they should have been giving them away.
If you have purchased one and are not happy please contact Amazon regarding a return. Thanks for stopping by.

I am finding new products.so any suggestions will be appreciated.
thank you very much.
really sorry for the inconvenience.
If you send me an email to hswaters@yahoo.com we can discus your scope and testing it. Thanks for stopping by.
5 Star video
Thanks George.
Cuanto cuesta está mirá en dinero mexicano
1,163.00 pesos.
Thats a modle 60 thats not a 10 22
You are quite right on that. I do not remember what context a 10/22 might have in this video. I hope you will pardon me but I just do not want to go back and rewatch it to see. Thanks for stopping by.
like you hat but the scope thumbs down for me
Thanks for stopping by.
Nice cap sir...
I have two or three around here.
Alfonso Rodriguez he’s reviewing a “budget” scope, bet you’re fun at the parties.
I have seen kids to a better job zeroing in their scopes
Great to have talented kids. Thanks for stopping by.
Thank you for having a sense of humor.
I have one with a green laser, had to set to 400yards on my 22lr to get it to zero. Works for the price, jest got it for a giggle and was surprised
The laser is surprisingly bright. I never use a laser myself. Thanks for stopping by.
