Squeaky engine mount? Can't afford brand new mounts? Check out Powerflex for a cost effective fix to stiffen your standard engine mounts on your Ford Fiesta ST180.
With the engine mounts a known weak point common to go soft when you need them at their hardest, a little extra bush can come in handy. The Powerflex inserts are very well made as your would expect and surprisingly easy to install yourself with the right tools.
I had a squeak from the drivers side (rhd) engine mount when cold which has now been eliminated. There is an improvement also when shifting 1st to 2nd with the only negative being a little bit of increased vibration, mostly through the steering wheel. I expect this to settle over the coming weeks as it did when I installed the rear motor mount with yellow Powerflex bushes.
More Powerflex video's to come with their own rmm and Purple bushes aimed at s daily that sees the odd track day, and the purple rear beam to chassis bushes.
Huge thanks to Powerflex and Powerflex Australia for working with me on this video and I look forward to the improvement yet to come.

I like the finger pointer. Great Video!

Thanks. I have let powerflex down a bit and have more bushes to install still. Cost of living sky rocketed here in Aus which has put a halt to a lot of things.
      The pointer is pretty rad.

Thank you. So far a little extra vibration is what I have noticed the most. Once settled and once the weather finally cools off, I can see how these fair on track too.

Cheers for the Vid, Fordy. Just done both of these off the back of your upload. Already had the rear lower mount. And yeah I can back up what you said about the extra vibration. Hopefully it'll ease up soon

The vibration has eased on mine and can barely notice that all 3 mounts are now more stiff.

Good stuff. Thanks for always watching and I'm happy the video helped.
I have no complaints so far. The initial extra vibration settled over 2 weeks and all mounts are still in perfect condition.
      No track days done yet

Hello Fordy Ford, first of all, congratulations on your channel, And I also wanted to ask you what you think of the Powerflex inserts for the engine mounts of a BMW X1, do you think they will pass vibrations into the cabin? It is not for sports driving but rather for comfort. thank you so much

Thank you for the kind words. I haven't driven an X1 at all so don't know what they are like to begin with. When making anything more stiff in your car, you should probably expect something to change. I had more vibration for the 1st few weeks and it settled a bit but, we have different cars for different purposes so it doesn't bother me in my car.

your motor mount is broken, when i replaced mine with a new oem one that thing was like almost rock solid.

    • @fordyford
      @fordyford  Год назад

It is very worn out yes but it isn't leaking. Once my original mount dies I will upgrade. I hope to get some extra life out of it though 🤞.
A little concerning though knowing a new one is rock solid.

I bought powerflex engine mount and it made my car extremely uncomfortable because of the strong vibration in the hole car
