This happened to me with 2013 Optima at gas station. Was able to get worn bushing to work well enough to get to Kia dealership. With man hands if you drop the bushing it’s gone. Had to get a 2nd one. This video saved me. THANK YOU!!!
OMG this just happened to us on my 2013 Kia Optima EX and I saw your video first and we went down and for now just clicked it back in place because out of town because of Hurricane and didn't even have to remove handle just lifted it up far enough for husband to get to it with screwdriver tip and put back in place and it worked unbelievable seriously this is the most valuable video I've ever needed!!! I too am a RUclips Influencer but we can't thank you enough for this one was going to cost a fortune 275 now just for a diagnosis run and plus would have to have towed etc it saved us at the very least 500 dollars!!! We will order the new bushing when back home tomm but thanks to you we can make it home now and saved us so many hundreds tysvm. You saved us also because we would have been stuck here probably several more days on top of this we live in St. Petersburg and as you know we got hit hard there so evacuated to Jax fla where I'm from and only had the hotel till tomm morning and was leaving for home in morning what a Godsend you have been for us!!! All the way around it took us 30 seconds maybe to completely be able to get home God bless you and yours appreciate it very much XOXO 😘 ❤️ . Always show them in writing by another reputable shop or a picture/video of the bad part or what is going on with the vehicle, remember you are paying for the knowledge and service that you do not want to or know how to do, how ever easy things like this people can do them selves. It's not rocket science... And it's not that mechanics don't know, it's just that the rather do the diagnostics them selves to have a peace of mind. What if they fix what you said and it dint work? You will end up telling the mechanic it's his fault, and make him do a diagnostic and fix your vehicle properly for a much cheaper price only to keep you, the customer happy.... Either way great video.
Eh I know it's been 2 years since this video was uploaded and you been known after the video was uploaded what that black piece is for that comes with that bushing kit thats there driver it's meant to "help" you push the purple bushing into the shifter cable hole. I lost mine some where under the shifter so right now I'm using a thick rubber O ring that hopefully will stay on till I get what I hope is a correct bushing because the one I bought from bushingfix it says it fits my shifter cable but it was loose so I didn't want to take a chance and that thing cost me like $30 off amazon. I gotta have a car for work so I can't afford to be playing around LOL.
I did this fix a few months ago in my sorento 2015, I know the bushing might be the "ideal" but the point is just hold it together, I used a small tie wrap and a touch of plastic soldering (on the ouside of the tie wrap) and it works great
