While your video is generally good, the accepted order of washing is from the top down, ie head/face, arm pits/hands/body, crotch, then feet. This is for exactly the reason you talk about using a certain piece of the towel to clean the feet to stop cross contamination. Clean top down means the last piece of the towel you use on your feet will not cross contaminate. Also, using the water to wash your feet first means you are transferring dirt/bacteria into the cup/water then possibly cross contaminating your head/face as you are washing them after your feet. Good presentation however.
Thank you a really informative video that demonstrates really well the important personal hygiene routine Great help for a young cadet new to this process thank you
I talk for hikers/trekkers/survivalists, too often people pass over this matter and it’s wrong. In my experience in Italian Army in ‘90 years, nobody, no one trainer talk about that things. Good video
This is why i left basic training after first exercise in the field. Sounds daft but just couldnt get to grips with admin in the field in a short amount of time and watching my section crack on while i was shit at it just completely broke my confidence. Discharged as of right couple weeks after still regret it to this day but ohwell.
You take spare clothes with you in your Bergen. Depending how long you’re on exercise for, you’ll be able to get away with wearing the same set of trousers but it is recommended to change shirts, socks and underwear daily
Short answer, You don’t lol but yeah if you’re smart enough to pack it if it’s not on your list from orders and you know you’re going out for more than 1-3 days.. you should bring a full spare set minimum. Extra socks. Minimum day socks and night socks… but extra socks!
Just a comment on the order of washing! 1. Should always wash from top to bottom ( not like in the vid) that is - Head, body, legs, feet. (its good to have a flannel? for head, body and another colour flannel for legs, feet. reason is - head, body is only to waist, legs, feet is below waist to feet, it includes your bum. Now he showed 1 container with hot water being used the feet then being used for the head and face, this is wrong, SHOULD use 1 container with hot water for head , body then tip out, then another lot of hot water in same container for legs & feet. Way to much water being used to rinse hair, lots of accurate info but not really how it should be done. Only thig I can say its Army? the way I say is RM, need I say more!
Excellent instruction. Simple things that can make a major difference to your health and effectiveness. One question. What kind of multi purpose soap do you use? Thanks Nate

Also wouldn’t you only use half your water at a time?

Info was correct but I’ve only known a top down routine.
