    The is the best review of these jackets that I have ever seen. Straight to the point without undo dramatics. I really like that you mentioned the weight of each jacket. It not only shows value, but also gives us an idea of what we will be carrying around on our body. Great job.

    This was exactly the information I was looking for! Thank you for making this video. I love Klim but they have SO MANY different lineups and it is hard for the weekend warrior to make sense of it. This cements my decision - Baja S4 FTW!

      Glad it was helpful! I am four years into my Baja S4 and it is still going strong. Love that jacket. I wear it all the time and use a Nelson Rigg Rain Jacket as my overshell when it gets wet or cold. Great system.

    Good video. I had chose between the Baja and the Induction and chose the Induction, simpler, lighter, less pockets and extra features to me meant more airflow and cooler jacket for summer commuting and a little touring.

    I have both jackets now and although at first I thought Induction was better I'm now liking the Baja better. It flows more down the collar/upper chest The collar design how you can fasten it back is really good for airflow over the Induction plus I normally wear an XL but could go to the L in the Baja.. it is a really neat fit which helps comfort and coolness. Next step might be to test the water bladder in the jacket... heard it pulls the jacket back and the collar into the neck unless you have the kidney belt on but I'll see for myself. Would be a great addition in the Australian heat.

      Interesting Eh.

    • @goldenchild4835
      @goldenchild4835 2 года назад

      I have both. I find it's the other way around; Baja more hotweather adventure riding and touring - very flexible, marginally less airflow than the Induction. IMO the Induction is more suited for short trips and around town and seems to have a little more airflow than the Baja, but is a little less flexible. Wear a Macna cooling vest underneath either and Bobs-your-uncle. Temps here are topping 40C atm (about 105F), so the jackets are getting plenty of wear! Both jackets are great.

    • @oklahomahank2378

      @@goldenchild4835 Thanks! I have never seen either so I was just going by the video. I don’t think your comment is really “the other way round” from mine. We both see the Baja as adventure and touring. I am a little unclear what role they see for the Induction now. The Baja seems like better gear.

    • @manybikes
      @manybikes  2 года назад

      @@oklahomahank2378 the Induction was their first stab at a mesh jacket. The Baja is the “new and improved” and it is much more comfortable and versatile in my opinion.

    Hey Kyle- the elbows/shoulders on the Induction are 840D "high tenacity" Cordura.. I've asked Klim for some numbers on it but nothings available. All I know is it's got to be over 2 seconds from 70 kph to 0 kph in the new abrasion test for AA rating

      Great question. They run pretty true to size... If you wear a Large T-shirt... I'd do a Large. IF you typically wear an XL T... go with the XL. I am 5' 9" tall and when I am 190 lbs a Large in the Baja S4 is a "perfect fit." When I am nearing 220... it is a bit snug but still fits better than the XL. Hope this helps! - Kyle

      @manybikes , thank you for the information! A little extra question, please, as we look to be pretty similar size-wise and i also wear a large (currently a klim badlands jacket) with, as you said, a "perfect" fit - if you were to remove all built in armour from the Baja s4, and wear a MX armour suit under it, how would you then judge the L / XL sizes to fit? And also at leaner sub-200 vs a gym-ed up 225 condition? Thanks again!

      I have the Induction and looked at the Baja. Induction is lighter and feels cooler to me. The Baja is a bigger, heavier, more "touring" style jacket. You sort of forget about wearing the Induction as it's no-frills and very free-flowing. For me a summer jacket should be simple and cool. I have another 4-season jacket with bells and whistles. Both jackets are still hotter than not wearing a jacket (obvious but needs to be stated).
