Should probably put a little disclaimer here on the whole 'last Tasafro game' comment since it got asked a lot. But I heard it came from tweets from people who talked to them at Reitaisai. It's not really a hard fact and I apologize if I presented it in a way before that made it seem more concrete than what it really was.
Thinking about it... Tasafro had a crunchy year between porting AoCF to console and doing Goukyou Ibun, so a rest for a while would be really nice for them.
So Flan doesn't only return to the franchise, getting playable after 19 years of her last appearance in games but she's the True Route of the game? Fascinating. If that's true for Tasafro, Godspeed for them. May they get luck out there and they have luck with future projects.

Okina hires Flandere of all people and working together is one hell of a fresh and interesting scenario/setup. like you'd wonder why and how Okina plotting all of this yet again and managed to figure out while fully knowing Yukari,she'd be dozing the crap out it while all of this is happening in the BG. and The best part ? It's Flandere who get to be the one to resolve an incident and for once it's not thanks to Yukari but Okina and her buffs...as if flandere is op enough.

Having completed on normal, I thought a lot of tactics to this game was rather be spammy and damage rush, but you made the fights look very clean! (Kutaka is a bit crazy though lol)

This could very well be just me but That Toutetsu 3rd Phase straight up feels like it pays homage to the very First Touhou game,where the bosses fight are exactly the same.
Showing up in a photo game is irrelevant, because these chars don't have any purppose there other than throwing 3-5 random spells on the protagonist, they don't speak anything, they don't have any depth or relation to the story (99% of the time). Also, basically all characters show up in those games, so it's not a memorable appearance.
So basically, beneath the Hell of Blazing Fires (where Subterranean Animism ends), there's the Hell of Blood Pools - a place where all the malice and destroyed spirits of the former hell settled into. That blood turned into the fluid - which is petroleum. Yuuma Toutetsu, the spoon girl, is a leader of one of the clans from the Animal Realm (in Wily Beast An Wicked Creature); she's discovered that petroleum and is basically starting to extract it to use it in a plot to take over the animal spirit realm. Her digging around there caused it to start bubbling to the surface of Genoskyo though, resulting in the incident. Her ability is to consume anything, though apparently it influences her personality. While she is already described as 'exhausting' to the other clan leaders due to her underhanded tactics to begin with, it's also mentioned that she's tried eating the Petroleum, which is essentially just pure malice from hell - so naturally she seems to have gone a bit extra violent. Several other characters do arrive to try to resolve the incident, but for one reason or another fail or agree not to fight, and eventually Okina gets Flandre out of the basement as a secret weapon to put an end to it.

@@JaimersSTG Yeah but I think you could improve your shmup skills in general by interacting with other superplayersas the competition is pretty much a friendly game between the Japanese, the Chinese, and global rather rhan something as big as esport. Plus you can choose whatever catagory you want to compete in (TD LNB or IN Lunatic Scoring for example) Also you don't need either insane achievements in Touhou like LNN a certain games or insane shenanigan -like Yatsuzume's DDC Sakuya B LNN for TWC- . Back in TWC 2021 there were players like Loreannrose or Cao Minh who had neither a LNN nor impressive feats (like surviving the rice spam section in UM stage 5 at 1 power) while competing against other top tier players who have much more experience, and yet they still give it in their best and eventually won (or tie with other players)

Based on a translation video for SHoSS, Okina said that "Do you think that the power would go to you? Power goes to the Avaricious." if its because of flan's power then
Okina does it as a gambit. Feeding all the power to Toutetsu makes her go all-out and exhaust herself vs Flandre until she is empty, and then the TLB pattern shows up and Flandre can deliver a decisive defeat, which is what Okina planned from the get go (probably as a way to absolutely make sure Toutetsu understands the peace IS not to be disturbed in her avarice, or she WILL be destroyed)
Idk, Okina tried to strengthen Flandre up but Yuuma took it, ("because of her greed ofc" - Okina Obviously) but apparently I bet she lied from that just to show Flandre's power is what I'm saying?
@@mwha664 The dialog implies, from Okina's line, that she knew beforehand it was going to happen. She says something to the effect of "What, did you think this power up went to you? No, the one that's greediest will take it." strongly implying she knew it was gonna happen before she did it, and it's consistent with Okina's way of acting. Of course, I'm still speculating a bit.,

Later on in the battle, before the last phase, Okina says Yuuma is out of power, and must go into absorption mode, and that's Flandre's chance. I think Okina knew Flandre was the only one capable of fighting Yuuma at full power and forcing her to a state where she can be defeated (which in turn will reinforce the point at the end of WBAWC that the Youkai Sages want to make, that is to say to the Animal Clans, don't start stuff in Gensokyo or this will happen to you)
