Please please please don’t stop making large boats! You guys have always supported us taller and shorter paddlers and the M/L just doesn’t cut it! You made 3 sizes for the flow and that boat is way closer to a gnarvana which made it hard to justify. This one looks like a perfect blend between antix and gnarvana. I understand the business model and molds are expensive but this boat has the potential to sell a lot! Keep up the good work, but please don’t forget about the big and small!
I second this! I’m 6’2”, 250, and wide! I love paddling Jackson’s and I would love to get in this guy. Same thing with the waka steeze. I find that I’m just barely too big for these boats. It would be amazing to see that weight range be 180-275. Even boats that say they accommodate my weight seem to ride extremely low at the water line. I would love to be able to skip and play my way downriver in a boat that was designed to be creeked by a big boy
@@surftheearth We're not done making large boats. It's just that in this year's situation, we were only to swing one mold. Good news is that we have 4 other lines of awesome boats that all come in 3 sizes. I REALLY like the Rockstar V, Flow, Gnar, and Antix 2.0 and I'm stoked that we're able to offer all of them in 3 sizes. At your size, you should float the large Gnarvana well.
@@stephenwright8779 I hear what your saying, but what I’m getting at is that big guys still like driving Ferraris… give us the new half slice in a L/XL especially if you are going to drag out this mould as long as the antix
@@surftheearth I understand, but we can only make as many molds as we can afford to make at the moment. In this case, it was either one size or no sizes. The outdoor industry is in a weird place this year, as sales have universally shrunk due to market over-saturation, pandemic buying boom rebound, and consumer inflation stress. Rafting, guiding, and all adventure sports manufacturers are feeling the squeeze right now. We're committed to running a financially responsible, sustainable business that can be around for years and years to make more great boats.
FWIW the Clutch isn't an antix replacement. It's a playable creek boat. The Antix 2.0 remains one of our top 2 best sellers in whitewater, and is still AWESOME. The Antix will still be more playful/fun for most people on most runs where they'd be comfortable in an Antix. It's much easier to play and still very forgiving unless you're on runs where you need a high-rockered creek boat hull. One reason we haven't replaced the Antix 2 yet, is that it's still great--even compared to all the other brands' versions that have followed us. It's my all-time favorite kayak in 27 years of boating. I'm still finding new things to do with it, and it still brings a smile to my face.
@@stephenwright8779 Stephen, I appreciate the honest, candid, no BS response. I look forward to checking out the new Clutch, but as you say, the Antix 2.0 is awesome!
That move at 0:35 is sick. Boat looks amazing.
Loving the 1' LW appearance!!!! Thanks for the run down DaneO looks like a great boat!
got to watch his dad build this company and carry his family around , got to watch DANE grow up to become an icon ,,,, im VERY proud to own 1 JK from 2010....the red fun boat ......... its an HONOR SIR HB ALBERTA SMITH
Orange and Black is a fitting color choice.
I would like to see how the clutch is to get vertical compared to the waka steeze. I love the Gnarvana and the Clutch looks extremely interesting. The Steeze is awesome but lots of people can't get it vertical very easy.
I can't compare to the Steeze (never paddled one), but after a day in the Clutch on the Gauley--I can get it vertical on small eddylines, no problem. In the flatwater, I'm up to around 45 degrees. Not nearly as easy as an Antix, but fun enough that I probably did 50 stern squirts on my Gauley run. Hope that helps!
S/m would be sick
at 220 will I be too big and need to go with an Antix or an Indus? I really like the lines on this boat!
We had a 220 Lb guy demo it on the Gauley yesterday. He seemed really happy with it. That said, I'm sure that it'll paddle really differently at 220 than it does at 150. The 220 guy yesterday said that it felt faster for him than his large Nirvana, but still very playable. At his weight, it'll be more of a faster, high-rockered half slice--maybe more forgiving downriver than a Large Antix 2.0. At 150, it's more of a creek boat that you can play the stern. Make sense?
Will open up new opportunities for me i need one.
Does Jackson do custom orders? Wondering if it's possible to get in a solid color other than red.
They don’t. Otherwise I’d love to get a solid lime green boat again.
@@chrispaine2265 that's a small bummer. So many cool new boats out there. At this point I've only done used boats. I just can't get myself to pay the price for new if I don't absolutely love the color.
It’d be interesting to see a antix 2.0 comparison
What is that Rio color clutch behind Dane? It looks significantly smaller than the other one is it a s/m ?
Just an optical illusion. This boat only comes in Medium.
All mediums, it’s just further back.
Jah clutch, bless
Dagger Redline redux?
Hi how many size?? you have yhe chltch at the show, Paddle expo Strasbourg France???
They are only making one size, a M/L. Hopefully they will make a small and large. Idk why they would only make one size, especially with halfslices being insanely popular right now.
@@michaelcarter3149they’re probably still doing prototypes on those sizes as changing the size can result in different paddling characteristics.
Are these available in New Zealand?
thats what im saying!! I need a shipment asap!
Reminds me of the old rpm from 90s but different.
more like a new wave sleek with more rocker, rails and the back foot cut off
Jackson used to make boats in 3 sizes. I would never buy a boat that comes in only one size. I top out the weight limit at only 220.
Steezy!😆
Does this boat inspire confidence??
There are so many parts cut at the point were it looks like the clutch is geting eaten by the river... why do this? show how this boat exit the section if it does what you speak about...
A lot of the time I may cut quick because I’m moving to the next point, but noted for the future. I promise the clips don’t cut right before anything that has the boat getting swallowed or anything. 👍
2 475 CAD 😮😮😮 thats 2 846 after tax....... Thats too much
Let's compare what's on the market
Waka Steeze 2 420 tax included
Dagger Indra 2 478 tax included
Prijion Beast 2 593 tax included
Zet ninja 2 420 tax included
This is substantially more than what's already out there.😮
@@gordmccoll5009 In the states right now, check the USD prices at NOC or other online kayak shops: Clutch $1,649, Indra $1,649, ReactR $1,699, Steeze $1,649 at Calleva online. All about the same. This is what boats cost these days. FWIW these boat prices still haven't kept up with basic inflation since 2000. For example, many kayaks in the year 2000 cost $1,000 USD. Inflation since then has been approximated at 82.7%. If whitewater kayaks simply matched inflation, they'd all be selling for $1,826.60 USD. Something to think about.
