What size hook did you use?

In US terms it would be a C or D size hook. Hers is a 3 mm hook but US are different. I don't know why these You Tube people use such small hooks to film. It's hard to tell size of project and stitches!

@@shirleymeyle3702they often do it so they can get better stitch definition, a firmer fabric and most importantly they can show the repeats of the pattern without making the sample quite so large. This way folks can have an idea of how the pattern will look. This is because they are not creating a finished item such as a garment, blanket, etc. It is a stitch pattern they are demonstrating. If using the stitch pattern foe a tshirt or sweater you would want tight stitches whereas for a blanket or tablecloth, placemats, etc you would likely want looser stitches. Happy New Year!
