After watching too many British snack videos where people taste the worst of English food, I thought it was about time to set the record straight! This video follows one mans attempt to share the best of British "candy" that you should hunt down if you visit the UK. From the elegance of the French Fondant Fancy, the mystery of the Jaffa Cake to the might of the chocolate Hob Nob. We've got you covered...

Any British snacks that I missed? PS. It took me a whole week to eat everything featured in this video. 🤤
My wife picked up you didn’t have any Penguins. Mind you we think our Australian Tim Tams are better. Great clip though. Love your work mate ❤️
Clearly a huge miss is the humble Bourbon biscuit !!!
Tim Tams are great but yes I agree on the Penguins!
Yeah but it’s basically a chocolate custard cream so didn’t wanna repeat myself lol
Was ur wife born in the uk?
Now I really can't wait to come back to the Uk! I want my Cadbury chocolate and my mcvities chocolate biscuits!
Yummy! You never cease to make me smile! With the world going through all this caos, it's wonderful to just be able to smile.
Aww that’s lovely thank you
My husband just got back from working in the UK. He brought back some of the items you suggested. We tried jaffa cakes, the prawn cocktail crisps, and the cherry bakewells. He also bought the viennese whirls but ate them while he was there haha! Our number 1 favorite is the cherry bakewells!!! OMG those were so good!!! Thanks for the suggestions! We loved the video!
Hi haha that’s great to hear! Glad you enjoyed them!!!
We call the first one a petit four. Loved the caterpillar cake with what we call Swiss rolls. Delicious looking.🇨🇦
😋
Just dropping by to say I'm a new subscriber and to let you know how much I enjoy your videos. Wife and I travel the world (pre-pandemic) and I follow several different RUclips travel vloggers but I really enjoy your style. Glad I found you guys and keep up the great work.
Hi Darrell. Thank you so much for letting me know, that’s great to hear. Welcome. Although not sure when my next travel video is gonna be... 😅
Enjoyed this! So many I haven’t tried. Jaffa Cakes sound delish - how strange that a “cake” isn’t taxed, but a biscuit is...? 🤷🏻♀️ Toronto has some shops carrying British snacks and candies so will make a visit when possible... 🙌🏼
Whoop, oh yeah that sounds like a plan!
You forgot Twiglets, Maltesers, Buttons, Flake
Maybe I didn’t 😉
I'm visiting your lovely country for the first time a couple of days from now. I will try some of these. I already know I like Mini Eggs and Jaffa Cakes. You've got such a fun personality and such an enjoyable channel here. The part that made me laugh was when you were crying and your wife was comforting you. Thanks for the entertaining content!
Enjoy!
OK Paul, a CBE for your brave efforts to convert us to British delights - all soul foods guaranteed to melt a gourmet's tough heart.
You had me absolutely creasing at nipple 😂😂😂 your videos always cheer me up, keep up the good stuff.
Mr Kipling's snacks are my favorite from London : the packaging, the presentation, the variety and the taste? Perfect to my French self ahah
So many foods from my childhood. Thank you for the trip down memory lane. Unfortunately I haven't been back to the UK in a number of years (& my last possible trip was postponed due to COVID). Instead, I'll have to order some of these foods from an importer. Thanks for the excellent video!
I’m Aussie, husband is English. He Introduced me to Quavers when we first went back to the UK together in 2006. I love them, my fave. But so hard to get in Australia 😭
Quavers are best when you eat them 1:1 with KP Skips.
Fry's turkish delight, and Revels - I always stock up when I visit. Haven't been in the UK since 2019 (thanks, covid!) so will just enjoy watching you eat the snacks...
This was fun! I'll take your opinions into consideration when shopping in the UK, hopefully next year! Stay safe! (I loved hearing your natural conversational voice instead of your typical voice over.)
So excited to see you posted this video, it’s been a while.
I lived in the UK for 9 years & my top 3 are chocolate hobnobs, fondant fancies, bakewell tarts. Luckily, since we can’t travel at the moment, we can purchase all of my top three in Australia.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Factual and accurate, seems to be the definitive selection. With food like this it's no wonder we conquered 2 thirds of the globe.
Cream and jam-filled Victoria Sponge cake, Flapjacks and Bounty Bars should also be on the list -but hey, watch the sugar levels!
Loving all your videos guys.......Thanks so much for.making this time.so much fun for entire family
Thank you you’re welcome!
Thank you so much for a great video!! I loved the beginning part)))) And it's funny that Chiaki-san didn't actually like the snack😆 Excited for the upcoming sarcasm video!
I'm hooked on your channel now! Hilarious. :)
Ha welcome!
This was fun for me to watch. You cleared up a lot of questions I had on snacks over there. I liked the first two you showed and next time I visit I’ll be bringing them home. Always bring home snacks from countries I visit so as soon as I arrive I get some and taste test them so I know which ones to get more of. Thank you for the reviews.
Thanks. Yeah it’s a good way to sample local life!
Nik Naks yes!!! Spicy deliciousness.Used to buy them to sell in our tuck shop at work and they went down a treat! Brill video❤️
It felt so good after a long break🥂
Thank you!
my experience of American snacks is that they are all 50% suger. No flavours.
and the chocolate always tastes off because of the chemicals needed to transport the milk
Lived in England for 8 years. I definitely agree Chocolate Hobnob’s is the best out of them no doubt!
I don't pay my Patreon to watch you insult glacé cherries! Send them my way.
In the post!!!
Flake and monster munch is the best thanks for bring back memories
Haha yes!
♥️Thank you so much this is nice 👍
Big Street Food 🍱!!!!
Thanks Suitcase Monkey. Loved the video. Hobb nobs awesome, I prefer cheese and onion crisps. I think the crisp you missed is pork scratchings. Can not wait to get back to try some more. Take Care Chris and Sandra of Canada.
Haha I actually become one of those youtubers when I try those pork scratchings haha 😬
Dear friend, you are (in the nicest way possible) a madman.
Thank you.
The intro hahahhahaahhahaha
Hi I'm a big fan love your sense of humor and lovely insight on almost everything except Mr Kipling French fondant this is what I picked up very excited about it as I imagine the lovely tea culture the British have and they love their sweet cakes. But this fondant fools you this is extremely sweet and tasteless imagine me being an Indian actually felt it was very sweet. I don't know if little moons would qualify for a British snack but yes that was great stuff. That would be my recommendation.
This is amazing!
The first one ( French fondant thing ) is called a petit four in the US and served at showers ( baby , wedding etc )
Ahh ok didn’t know that!!
You missed Crunchie bars/biscuits. That’s my favorite. We used to be able to get them here in the US, but not anymore. For some reason, honeycomb isn’t a thing here. 😞 Do they still make the biscuits?
Hey I think they do, yeah but I always found the texture weird!
I’ve recently gone vegan and watching this has made me miss so many things that I’d completely forgotten about! Viennese Whirls, Minstrels, Cherry Bakewells!!!! Chocolate Hobnobs are 100% THE best biscuit invented. And what am I meant to do at my next disco? Not gorge myself on French Fancies??
Aww sorry to hear that. Vegans have my total 100% respect since it’s one of the best things someone can do to stop the planet from burning up. So respect to you!
I'm from Norway and my sister has always loved milk bottles from M&S, buthere so bland and i stull don't get why she likes it so much. Always love your vids. Greetings from Oslo😀
Haha yeah they are good. The sugary Coca Cola bottles are nice too!!!
great video you missed bourbon biscuits they are amazing ❤
great video, but no frazzles or skips?? what's with that???? tho kudos for the monster munch!!🤣
Both excellent choices!
Oh no! Id forgotten about mr kiplings almond cakes with the cherry on top! Il have to come back to the Uk now!
Haha
Your face !!😂Cadbury is my fav thing to buy in Oxford each summer ( anything by Cadbury !!)
LOL. Charming presentation.
I'm getting £800 for my 18th birthday in 7 days so I'm here to find snacks to buy because I'll be a responsible adult and just buy food instead of paying taxes
Funny stuff. Fact: all good British snacks are now manufactured in Mumbai. 😉
Thank the food gods, we are able to get chocolate (and plain) HobNobs quite easily here in Canada. They are definitely #1. We are familiar with Cadbury mini-eggs here as well, BUT, as we discovered in London during Easter 2019, the British ones are drastically superior. The chocolate is better, as is the candy coating. There's just something missing in the Canadian version!
How can American's criticise our snacks? They eat Hershey's FGS. The chocolate that tastes like sick.
I knew that I shouldn't have watch it this evening, as I don't have any snacks at home, and now I'm craving custard cream, crisps, chocolate, well, I'm craving everything, so tomorrow I'll be heading to the supermarket, to stock on snacks, I'll get some tea cakes too, you know, those wrapped in tin foil, yummy!
Oh yeah they are weird little things!
Fun video. Super funny
Hehe
Thanks good info
I just don’t understand why you would start with the sweet stuff 😂 that would yer dessert 🧁 😂
I lived there for 4 yrs and my number one was a scotch egg, a waaaaay after that on the 2nd place I have the prawn one crisps.
Boom!!! Good one!
Prawn Cocktail all the way! such robust flavour. Really missing home now
Preach!!!
What about digestive biscuits?
Oh yeah probably the best plain biscuits!!
When it comes to crisps I personally prefer Tyrrell’s and ridged crisps, Walker’s I find tend to be a bit small and very few in the packet, leave out the Creme Eggs, sickly sweet, but keep the Jaffa Cakes, absolutely yummy, a lot processed snacks there, but hey whatever floats yur boat!
Mcoys are my fave ridged crisps!
Jaffa Cakes
Digestive beats hobnob. Dark chocolate 🥲
Outrageous!
@@SuitcaseMonkey haha! Love all the crisps though
I've never heard of any of these before!
Oh really? Well I guess I picked well! 😊
it's very good👍😃
is this a britsh PCR?
dying to taste them
Yay!...Jaffa cakes!
Definately fact 😜
I love British snacks better than most Americans snacks... the US over does it with sugar and salt, Brits tone it down. Yes I pay $6 a package for Jammy Dodgers and I have paid $8 for the fruit digestives. I heard Jaffa cakes have pineapple flavor now and I really want to try it. The cheese and onion Crisps and the prawn ones... YASSSSS
Haha. Haven’t heard of pineapple Jaffas! Yes cheese and onion for the win! Great with a cheese sandwich!
@@SuitcaseMonkey I agree with you on the prawn Cocktail but disappointed that Jammie or Jammy Dodgers were not part of this debate. But yeah chocolate Hob Nobs are worth the $6 we pay for them.
Ok, I'm hungry!
UK have the best packaged snacks in the world!! India has the best street made snacks….but a cup of tea is always advised with all snacking!
Haha yes!
Top quality video, top quality snacks😎
Bourbons?! where are they?!
Haha. Yeah they are great but kinda like chocolate custard creams so I skipped them. But yes good call!
You have anything positive to say?
nice👍
Timecode anyone🤣 Adore British sweets. Love from Russia
No offence but British food is the worst. ;l
😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😜
@@SuitcaseMonkey Well. I like British custard at least. 😹
@Oskar Kamil You clearly haven't had any food here, our food, and restaurants are from the best in the world!!
