They don't need sugars if you feed with seeds and insect protein, but it doesn't hurt. Also you're going to want to heat them a lot, like 90-95f and super high humidity. You can try running a single heat cable over the tube but it probably wont be enough heat, incubator is best until they get into a nest. They prioritize staying near the moisture than going near heat, so they wont move close to it like they should. @ me on disc if you want specific help
