I got deferred as well and am watching your video for tips on writing my letter of continued interest! They are my top choice because of their excellent kinesiology program and amazing school atmosphere and school pride! Thanks for all the help you provided in this video!
I'm 25 and out of high school I went to Valdosta State University in Valdosta Georgia for only one year. When I'm age (s) 31- 33 I want to return to either Auburn University or Valdosta State university. I know imma be old but I believe I can still in a way have that College experience I never had and that social norms aren't always concrete. I just felt like sharing that! I love following your College experience and you deserve every bit to be at University of Michigan!!!
Hi!! I was deferred from early action but your video has helped me stay motivated! The letter of continued interest is so helpful cause it helped me highlight my grades since I have a 3.6 unweighted but I got straight A’s last semester which I got to mention. The average gpa at Michigan being 3.8 scares me a little, do you know some people who go to Michigan that applied with a 3.6? I have really good extracurriculars and essays so I’m hoping that makes up for it🥲 also went test optional!
For the most part people don’t really talk about their GPA so I’m not sure what the range is. I will say my GPA wasn’t perfect but I still got in and I attribute that to extracurriculars and essays. Best of luck!
This was a very informative video! I have a question- If you get rejected Early Action, can you submit a letter of continued interest or can you only submit a letter of continued interest if you get waitlisted?
I didn’t know anyone personally that got straight out rejected during EA so I’m not sure about that. But if you get deferred you can write a letter of continued interest!
hey! i go to smhs and i’ve been thinking about doing the same dual enrollment business class you took, what was the work load? im not sure if i should because how busy i am now but im actually interested in it lol
Hi there! Not sure if it will be like this next year but when I took the course it was completely online making it easier to do the work. I probably spent 2-3 hours a week on it including class time!
Sincw you didn't get into Ross what is your plan to pursue business at U of M? Any advice for us on the business case portfolio's. I can't come up with an idea for the business case discussiom!
I personally wanted to be in Ross because I eventually want to pursue entrepreneurship. Even though I didn't get into Ross, I can still pursue a minor in entrepreneurship. I think my biggest piece of advice is write about something that highlights who you are as an applicant and how you think. Best of luck!
hey! so I have a really good GPA/academics and I'm the valedictorian of my school (out of state). My SAT is 1480, do you think I should submit it? (math is 790, applying to their engineering major)
Hi! I do not know specifics about the engineering program, however I would recommend looking at what the median SAT score is and if you fit somewhere on the scale than you most likely should submit that score!
Hello I'm a Junior in high school and I'm a massive Michigan fan and it's my dream to go there for college. I have a 3.8 gpa but I'm not taking AP classes and I might not take the SAT or ACT. I do have a ton of extra curriculars with community service, clubs, and sports. Senior year should I take AP classes or no because I heard senior year may be too late for it and others say it'll help. And I was planning on doing college classes through a community college near me to get college credits called Bellevue College and I'm out of state of Michigan. But what are some advice you could give me and do you think taking college classes through Bellevue College would help or no? Sorry it's long btw lol go blue!
Hi there! I would like to say that I have no actual credentials to give advice but most of the students I have talked to here did take AP or dual enrollment courses through a local college. In fact for me personally I did both. I think that it is important for them to see that you can keep up with college curriculum. So I just recommend doing whatever you think will be good for you! GO BLUE!
Hey I’m a Junior Right now, and I’m definitely going to apply to the U of M, but I was wondering when do you think is best to apply? Also do you think that they would care if you were to get a C+ in Freshman year with 2 Bs, and 3 As, but then all As Sophomore and Junior year?
Everything matters, but think of it like this, if you think you would like to attend a place, apply. Stats matter but aren't everything. I just opened my application today and found out I got into Michigan EA and I had a 3.5 gpa. I had 3 Cs on my transcript, and I take an IB DP courseload with some APs as well like Calculus BC. I showed an upward trend though, 2 of my Cs we're in freshman year and one sophomore but the one sophomore year was because they year ended abruptly to the COVID. Junior year I took a heavy IB AP courseload and got all As except for an 86 in the easiest class (IB ess lol.) so an upwards trend definitely helps. I'm from a low income back though of 20k a year and a Questbridge finalist, national African and Hispanic college board scholar, and URM and some other hooks like those. Really try to highlight what makes you unique, write a unique story, highlight your ECs, contributions, and personality traits, and really go to teacher or someone who will write you good recs. This is all for now sorry I'm not to worried about grammar rn because it is almost 4 am and I'm writing this on my phone lol. Good luck, stats are overrated! Just be yourself and really sell your interest(s)!

I did regular decision should i still write the letter of continued interest
I don't think there is an option for a regular decision student to write a letter of continued interest.
What’s your specific major in LSA? I’m accepted into LSA too this year.
My specific major in LSA is Communication and Media. Congratulations on being accepted!
How much does being a 2 sport athlete in high school help your application?
I have no idea! I know that extracurriculars are helpful in general from what colleges say.
This just hurts
Lmao no SAT/ACT
I couldn't take the SAT because the state I live in was very strict during covid.
