    Beautiful bird! I plan to use the same set-up with the X-H1. Does the stabilization on both the camera body and lens work together?

    • @Gemini_Connect

      Yes and in fact it's much better that way than each on its own

    Thx !! nice Owl pictures...are you at full zoom 400mm with the converter ? can we see the exif ? Thanks

    • @Gemini_Connect
      @Gemini_Connect  3 года назад +3

      Sure thing! When fully zoomed at 400mm, the 2x converter = 800mm, or in 35mm terms, 1200mm.
      EXIF for the photos - 1/220 sec, f/11, ISO 500.

    How to choose auto focus for bird like Eagles
    Spot, zone or wild track. Not many people talk about this. Thanks

    • @Gemini_Connect
      @Gemini_Connect  3 месяца назад

      Depends on what the eagle is doing. If it’s moving a lot like flying, then zone. If it’s being relatively still, I’d personally go for spot.

    What would the fstop value be with a 1.4 times teleconverter? Also, have you tried using a fujifilm camera with a tamron/sigma 150-600mm zoom lens using a fringer adapter?

    • @professionalpotato4764
      @professionalpotato4764 3 года назад

      1.4x teleconverters add 1 stop. 2x add 2 stops.
      So on this lens it'll be f/6.3 to f/8 using 1.4x, and f/9 to f/11 with 2x.

    A lot of full frame users tell me I don't have a 600mm equivalent in the 100-400 because it's not a full frame converted down to APSC. What do you say to that?

    • @Gemini_Connect
      @Gemini_Connect  3 года назад +1

      A 600mm on a "full frame converted down to APS-C" would be more of a zoom than 600mm. A 100-400mm on a "full frame converted down to APS-C" would be roughly 600mm.

    • @jamesm9560
      @jamesm9560 3 года назад

      @@Gemini_Connect I'm just talking my Fujifilm 100-400. No conversions. Is the bird the same size in the frame as my full frame friend standing next to me if he has a full frame 400 lens on a full frame body? 400 APSC body and lens versus 400 full frame lens on a full frame body. Super confusing.

    • @Gemini_Connect
      @Gemini_Connect  3 года назад +1

      @@jamesm9560 no, it is not the same. A full frame (FF) body sees more of the image; an APS-C or crop sensor body crops into the image, which is why the same lens will be zoomed in more. Now some full frame camera bodies (ie Sony) can switch between shooting FF and APS-C. If your friend does this and shoots in APS-C mode on his full frame camera with the same lens, he'll get the same field of view as you do on your APS-C only camera.

    Pretty bird yes...Sadly this video perfectly highlights why certain people think disclosing the location of wild animals is a bad idea.

    • @Gemini_Connect
      @Gemini_Connect  3 года назад +2

      The location was shared on multiple Facebook Groups by lots of different people. That's how we found out about it. But curious how it is a bad idea? Everyone who did show up was respectful of social distancing and of the neighborhood, and the bird wasn't harmed in any way (it's still there today).

    Fujifilm 100-400mm + 2x Tele. I don't get any sharp photos with this combination. what am I doing wrong. all photos with a tripod and 10 seconds at 800mm are not sharp and without a tripod I haven't even tried.

    • @Gemini_Connect
      @Gemini_Connect  3 года назад +2

      Try shooting at a faster shutter speed.

    • @iGreg1978
      @iGreg1978 3 года назад +1

      @@Gemini_Connect shorter shutter speed on tripod then I have high ISO because of f11. Will try it.
