Roy Kahn...
One of the best male vocalist in metal.
Best vocalist ever😊
His Majesty Roy Kahn
you need to see elizabeth 1 2 3 live
50+ year-old metal head here. I remember going to their concert in Tokyo way back. You can buy beer at the back. So I was jamming while drinking ice cold beer!!! Most memorable night!
Somehow, I missed this one the first time around.
The inspiration to this song comes from the only internationally well-known Norwegian composer, Edvard Grieg. He compised incidental music for a play named Peer Gynt, some of which he later compiled into an orchestral suite. The melody of the chorus is taken from the movement "Solvejg's Song" from Peer Gynt. Other movements from this suite that you've almost certainly heard will be "Morning" (sometimes translated as "Daybreak") and "In the Hall of the Mountain King". These last two in particular are always popping up in adverts, incidental music and various other facets of pop culture.
The tempo is so different yet the melody is easily recognizable, and beautiful in both
Ok, so never heard Kamelot? You are in for a world of goodies.
Tbh, I'd start out with this whole consert, One Cold Winters Night. Recorded in Oslo, the capital of Norway, Roy had an exceptionally willing audience in his home country and they connection between band and "publikum" is awesome. Had friends who were there, sadly I was not.
Still one of the best consert CDs/DVDs I have.
Fun fact, it was this consert that opened my eyes/ears to Simone Simons and Epica. The Haunting is still a favourite.
Still remember the live show in which Roy made it to hard for us to sing along
listen in this concert "Karma" saludos desde Costa Rica!
Kamelot doesnt do covers, by the way.
thats Casey Grillo on drums, he left the band a few years ago and now plays for Queensryche.
Roy Khan is the singer, but he left over a decade ago, and they have a new singer, Tommy Keravic who is also with Seventh Wonder.
I believe this live video was recorded in 2008...or something like that
2006.
@@Islandstone89 that sounds right. thanks!
The keyboardplayer (Oliver Palotai) is married to Simone Simons of Epica!!
That was fun! 👌
America's only hope...
A search *completely* fails to find any reference to what "running horse" is supposed to mean.
It is more commonly called the gallop. Google iron maiden gallop or heavy metal gallop.
They have more great songs, You should check their discography. They are active for quite long time.
Also, Alisa White-Kluz and Elize Ryd used to be in the band in some period.
@@suba0351 They we’re never in the band. They just made guest appearances on songs.
@@RobCaldera Ok thx, I knew they were on tour with them, but didn't know they were not official part of band. 👍
Super Maiden influence! Love the melodic-power combo
Strong "1980s action anime theme song" vibes...
Metallica Battery Seattle 1989 reaction?
