    This was another excellent session. It is so helpful to watch the thought and research process. I do have a question though...why didn't you look at the hints on Ancestry to see if there was information to add to your timeline before you determined the working hypothesis?

      Hi Catherine, I think it may be because Nicole had done some prior research on this family, so maybe she already knew what was and wasn't in the hints.

      For this example, I was using known information that I already had when I did the timeline. Sometimes I will look at information published in trees when I make the timeline but not always the hints. That's definitely up to you and can enhance the timeline and help you form a better hypothesis. I wanted to focus this session on the research side, and since I already had my hypothesis from the trees of DNA matches, I decided to spend very little time on the timeline. Good suggestion!
