    This is their homage to the Queen movie and Freddie Mercury. Also this was used a theme for a tv series as well.

      @@MatiiGalarza Well I noticed a couple of references to Queen, firstly with the beer on the drums. There's a famous shot of Roger Taylor hitting one of his drums with milk on it, but I can't remember which video it's from. The same thing is then parodied by Queen themselves in the video for The Miracle, where the young kids play the part of the band members. The kid Roger Taylor hits a drum and sends milk flying everywhere.
      Next, pause at 8:37 - those banks of lights on the wall behind them are almost identical to the lighting banks Queen had for their 1979 to 1981 tours. Watch We Will Rock You (fast version) from their Montreal show in 1981.

    Kanami's solo is the perfect volume, because when it switches to Saiki singing the same note you think it's still the guitar for a moment. Very Soundgarden move imo
    It's a great song! Honestly I think you'd like it even more listening to it straight through, there are some nice space and dynamics in the transitions that you miss when you have to keep stopping. The sound of that cranked solo guitar when the last chorus kicks in is just chef kiss

    This is a pretty popular song, but not nearly as popular for reactions as 'Domination' or 'Freedom" or 'Play', etc. I'd almost swear we've told you to check this song out before. Kinda like how we told ya to watch/listen to 'Daydreaming' for *months* before you finally did. And did you just miss Saiki winking at the camera? Band Maid fans like to keep this video quiet. The sight of Misa playing base while on her back in a darkened room has brought grown men and Women to leave their homes and wander aimlessly through the Countryside looking for any purpose in life that comes close to hearing and watching the band. It is a trigger that the authorities have tried to keep quiet. There are moments in life that old people can capture the joy of listening to the music of their youth. Younger ones can feel like they are a part of something more than themselves. But once the trigger is released and the flash flood begins. There may be no going back for any of us......Oh and yes the video is a tribute to the Freddie Mercury film trailer.

    I'm an old dude, and I agree that some of those riffs were very old school. I loved Kanami's solo, but agree that it should have been a little louder. If I was forced to come up with something that I felt Bandmaid needed to do, it would be to have Kanami's solos longer and louder. I do understand, however, that she is such a sweet, gentle little girl and she wants her bandmates to shine. I consider both Kanami and Miyako of Lovebites to be musical geniuses; they both are excellent guitarists and write most of the songs for their respective bands. Miyako understands that it's OK to write great solos for herself and Midori; I wish Kanami would let herself shine and show off her skills. (BTW... If any of the Maidiacs think I'm hating on Bandmaid, I just received the DVD for their Online Okyu-ji concert in the mail about an hour ago. :) )

    "Bubble" was released, along with "Glory", in early 2019 as part of B-M's strategy to tie up with broadcast entertainment. "Glory" was the ending theme for a TV anime, "Bubble" the theme for a TV drama. (The more recent "Different" is an anime theme song too.) Many Japanese bands have pursued the tie-up strategy, even more so with Covid and limited/cancelled live gigs. In particular anime vocals are now a huge and lucrative part of the Japanese music scene. LiSA, who you reacted to, is an example but there are dozens more; they have their own tours and TV specials. Producers are making offers to band vocalists to do anime songs, independently of their bands. I wonder if Saiki will be tempted.

    • @lordvorador5735

    • @otobokegaijin6218
      @otobokegaijin6218 3 года назад

      @@lordvorador5735 Miku has a background as an idol and sings that way. Japanese producers don't like idol-type singers to use lots of vibrato and diaphragm control technique. Saiki has bigger pipes, which you have to have to belt out anime themes, particularly the action variety. Think of LiSA. The top anime theme singers are mostly belters. Miku's Cluppo-type singing isn't really suited to anime, I think. Anime themes songs are huge and lucrative in Japan, an entire industry now. Before Covid, there were big tours organized of just anime singers including overseas stops, mostly Asia. Personally, I think Saiki would be an ideal anime theme singer. Of course, B-M has done anime themes before, as a band.

    This is one of my favorite songs of theirs. That entire middle part is one of my favorite sections in their catalogue. As impressive as their fast and explosive stuff is, I think I like their mid tempo stuff the most.
    This is from the last album that came out in December 2019, just a few months before the pandemic. I think it’s such a good album and I think I may like it more than Unseen World. But my fear is that it will never get the attention it deserves because they lost the opportunity to promote it and tour with it. There’s a lot of experimentation and variety on that album, probably more than any other.
    The single release for this song has a B-side called “Smile” which is pure Band-Maid pop and it’s just so fucking catchy. It’s got acoustic chords, electric riffs, and Saike really shines there. They are so good at pop music.

    I'm in a few groups and yeah this doesn't get as much attention. BUT... IMO the main riff is Kanami's best on Conqueror. And the song itself is top 3 from the album, IMO. But that riff is just... catchy as Eff, super positive, bouncy and...well, .....Bubbly?

    "Bubble" is definitely on my BAND-MAID top 10 songs. The drums and the bass are amazing on this track. I don't think this song wasn't recommended, I saw requests for "Bubble" pop up on almost every reaction channel.
    That would be great if you could react to "flying high". It's from the same album as "Bubble" (CONQUEROR) and it curiously has the same bass ending. There isn't a MV for this song so that's certainly why no one is reacting to it but it's a great song and my favorite "hard-rock" BAND-MAID song.
    Thank you

    I've noticed the average person wants to see reactors do high-energy, faster rock songs thinking it's going to blow the reactor away. As if no one has ever drummed that fast before or something. B-M has a wide variety of good songs that the fans love. They're not "reactor" songs, but I know you'll still enjoy them.

    Bubble is a great song. Especially considering the story to it.
    But it is also kind of a testament how amazing the other songs from Band-Maid are, since it is not requested that much and its still an amazing song. I personally do not request that much songs after the first couple of reactions because i can not keep track what those pesky reactors have reacted am a bit lazy in that regard i guess.
    Anyway enough of this blabbering. Great reaction. Thx

    Great reaction and as you've probably guessed, most people ask for the live videos first and Bubble is still one of their better songs IMHO. Glory is also another that gets overlooked but is still great. Some of the great songs don't have videos, so you're probably going to need to start listening to their albums, which no one here will object to. The order that you listen to nay be up to you; start with oldest when they didn't write the songs or start with newest and work backwards. One of my favorite older songs is "Arcadia Girl" off the album "New Beginnings" - it's on Spotify. Also, you hear more of Miku on the older albums.

    I read an interview where they said this song showed them growing up as a band. They said that before that they had an attitude of "We are Band-Maid - we've got to put more into the song" whereas for this one they let the song breathe. It might (and this is purely my speculation) be a result of perhaps their most divisive song "Start Over" which was written in a very different style to all that had come before, due to Kanami having a bit of writers' block. Oddly, the Start Over single is the most highly sought after single on the resale market ($500+) because the special edition had the bluray for the two hour Zepp Tokyo concert. That gig contained many of the most commonly requested clips, before the youtube purge of a year ago.

  • @mafreeen

      @@waynebenedict4609 Anne is way different than Saiki. She's both more powerful and technical, BUT Saiki needs to be pushed I think AND can do it. It would be a challenge for Kaname and Nance' in compositions with some much power to play with instrumentally, but It would be epic IMO.

      B-M cover of "Dog and Butterfly" could be very good. Long term, Saiki improving her English would help open many doors for them.

    • @Running-withscissors
      @Running-withscissors 3 года назад

      @@markyg236 Interesting, but way too soft and I dont think a full band can shine on that. Its a beautiful song though. I think perhaps a cover of Led Zepps Battle of Evermore with a Kaname arrangement gives a LOT of possibilities for all to shine. Just something that came to mind as the Wilsons do the ultimate Zepp covers already and the lore of Jimmy and Akane's meeting ties them all to that band. Would be interesting to see the ladies vocally take it on. Miku is awesome with harmonies and Anne has such a strong iconic voice to play off Saiki's sharp and explosive way.
      Seeing Nancy and Misa, Akane and Kaname tear it up would be another level.

    Regarding Miku's guitar, which you had so nicely in close-up at the beginning, I can only recommend the "【ZEMAITIS Factory Tour】Guest-Miku Kobato from BAND-MAID". Unfortunately it doesn't have subtitles and the automatic translation is rather bad, but you get a little insight behind the scenes of Zemaitis and also a look at the creation of exactly this model.

    Most Maidiacs will recommend Domination, Play, Rinne, onset ... for a first reaction.
    Most reactors will listen, say "wow, they are amazing", then go to another group.
    I've watched your reactions to Band Maid from the start, and unless you're Oscar-winning material, you've become a maidiac in a few songs.
    This is probably why you felt that "Band Maid formula" in Bubble. A great song, to listen to when you just want to get your Band Maid fix without having to pay attention to all the layers and every incredible individual performance. A little sweetness for the ears.
    It's now hard to suggest something, but I'll recommand "Don't let me down" with a little trick: get the lyrics before you start listening the song and read them during your reaction. ;-)
