Call my nostalgia crazy? :D Also, I've noticed that the actual Japanese subtitles are different from what they say in Japanese. Isn't that true, donguri? What he says starts from the word 「本当」, which means, truly, as in "You're truly doing great, old man", while the Japanese subtitles start from the words 「なかなか」, which mean "not bad", as in, "Not bad, for someone as old as you". I'd actually post the full subtitles to make a better example, but I haven't memorized the sentences and I don't know the Kanji for the words either :(

The nuance the voice actors said in Japanese is a little different from in English, which brought many japanese different image of each character from English impression... And i have the same opinion about the preference of voice actors.:D It is unquestionable though that the adding Japanese voice give some people the access toward better understanding of the story.

I think that has an impact on how "right" the English voice work sounds. Like, scripts written originally in Japanese tend to sound better in the original language.

I really like Echidna voice (although she sounds a bit like a hag). Dante voice is OK, I guess. Definitely not a bad voice acting, just it's too different from the one I used to. Sadly, I didn't like Lady voice at all. Even more sadly, I like her new english voice less too, but the new VA is doing a great job trying to be as close to the previous voice as possible, I have to give her that.
I prefer Japanese voice acting most of the time, but for DMC, English definitely wins, hands down. So many great memorable lines and awesome delivery.
