The first time I heard this, I just stood on the very edge of tower's balustrade and stared over the frozen wasteland to the tops of the mountains and thought, "damn, this game is dope."
Bonus points for correctly using the word 'Balustrade'
Looked up the meaning. Awesome word and sorry to interrupt :D
same haha
I had myself saying this many times while playing the game
the game is just outstanding
a hidden gem many doesn't know about it! how sad...
My favourite track in the whole soudtrack for this game.
You can truly feel the thrill of challenging a so-called god and proving your own free will. I always rushed back to the tower whenever I could unlock a new floor and half the reason was this music.
An amazing track, it's as if the music itself is portraying a kind of danger as well as mystery, as if it's actually saying to you;
"You're not supposed to be here."
And also the fact that Elohim is hiding something up that tower
This music is such a perfect fit for the Tower.
This track is the pinnacle of the soundtrack.
+xorbe2 I see what you did there - tower - pinnacle... xD
xorbe2 Absolutely. This instigates focus in the listener.
I'd love to hear (and would totally buy) an 8 minute + version of this song, with an extra, even more climatic movement or two. It feels like it's just getting started when it wraps up.
I know its an old comment but the rjclive remix is very good here on youtube.
@@BryanFuryous I have now also found the remix.
My favourite track from the entire game... It felt so good getting to the top floors with an axe in hand just in case I needed it lol.
The buildup reminds me of "The Last Stand" from the Faster Than Light soundtrack :)
Wau, took axe as well? I was so pumped up to kill that bastard God for toying with me.
Beautiful gradual build-up towards 2:08 and the rest. Fantastic!
whenever I had to leave the tower, I would wait till the loop was finished. And sometimes I would stay for too long and have to wait for another loop to end
coming back half a year later and now I'm completely sure that this is one of the best and most fitting video game music pieces I've ever heard.
This song made the tower part 10 times cooler for me.
When you feel like the truth is about to be revealed to you after a long struggle...
I remember finding one of Alexandras last recordings while ascending the tower, this track playing in the background.
I come back to this video from time to time just to listen to it.
2:08 I'll call it a "soft drop". Fcking amazing
That's stuck with me. It's a soft drop.
The best new track i heard in like last half of the year. Respect to the author.
This is such a great piece.
I spent more time trying to figure out the first floor than any other part of the tower, including the timed segment at the tippy top. The music somehow made it a little less frustrating.
самый сок с 2.00 Только ради него и искал эту мелодию!
What's the genre of specifically this track? I guess it is some kind of ambient, but what exactly? I just want to find more music like this.
Try "Chill" kind of music. In the genre Ambient > Chill. :)
This song is what defiance against all odds sounds like.
Always reminds me of Metroid Prime 2 Echoes : Phazo Mines music
Thanks for making this!
2:23 bass chords and some notes sound like "radioactive" by imagine dragons
The percussion throughout reminds me of "Heretic, Hero" from Halo 2 OST, especially "Forbidden Tower" 03:10 compared to "Heretic, Hero" 02:20. Love both OSTs.
This is the perfect 'defiance' music.
Brilliant piece.
This makes the Tower feel much different, if you took Elohim's words seriously. The Tower isn't hell, like you expected. Thanks to texts, IAN symbol on the terminals and THIS SONG you feel that this is the right way to go.
Sounds like a great mix of Fallout, House MD and Portal.
2:08
WHAT DOES THIS REMIND ME OF?? Please help I'm going crazy... I'm pretty sure I know something similar from another game, maybe game menu or so?
It sounds similiar to some soundtrack in Legacy of Goku 2 in the laboratory area
Reminds me of something Dave porter would put in the breaking bad show.
@@seneca4134 from the tone, yes. But I mean the exact melody... and I wouldn’t have thought that I ever get another comment here haha
3 years and still haven’t found the original that inspired this. I even tried contacting the artist haha
But I guess he wouldn’t even know. Maybe it’s just by chance that it sounds like something I know I’ve heard before ...
The percussion throughout reminds me of "Heretic, Hero" from Halo 2 OST, especially "Forbidden Tower" 03:10 compared to "Heretic, Hero" 02:20.
Omg! Same. I have a strong nostalgia for this exact part, and I thought I am going insane as well! Cause I have never heard of this game before, but I heard it in a video just now and I felt all fuzzy and warm. If you ever find out, please respond, cause I will probably loose sleep cause of it.
I sense a subtle tribute to Mitsuda's Chronopolis.
This is very similar to the Coil song "Dark River"
Everyone keeps mentioning 2:08 sounding like something - for me it sounds like FFVII Crisis Core "Mako City" theme.
For some strange reason, this song makes me feel like I'm a robot defying God. Strange how music puts weird thoughts into peoples' heads, eh?
Had you played the game before hearing this?
Game??? What game??? I don't know anything about a game...
The power of implication
thats exactly what ur doing in this part of the game
@@Tenorite77 r/whoosh
I chose to go up the Tower because Elohim made me banish my only friend
Really sounds like Transformers at 2:06 (LOVING IT.)
Max Zamora which track from Transformers?
