Damon Albarn - The History of a Cheating Heart - Portsmouth Wedgewood Rooms, 31/5/13

- Felt very privileged to catch both Bristol Trinity and Portsmouth Wedgewood Rooms shows. Both were wonderful and, whilst the band seemed both tighter and lighter overall at Bristol (perhaps because of one or two slight technical issues at Portsmouth), this understated, stripped-back gem from Portsmouth was probably the highlight for me from the two nights.
Can't shake the haunting ear-worm phrase "More than you know"...

Gorgeous. Thanks for the great footage, I can imagine I was there.
Thank you for these beautiful video. I found a great sound.
Very nice atmosphere
Incredible feeling when I listen to this song!
Thank you very much !
My pleasure - glad you liked it. Damon's a bit of a genius, isn't he
Automorph
Yes he's a genuis !
my favourite on the record
Rather surreal right now, I'm watching this downstairs while "This is a Low" is playing upstairs on the stereo. Beautiful. Thank you for posting; this is my favourite song from "Robots".
That IS a bit surreal but quite a nice pairing of songs, Pat. Glad you liked the posting
💔✌🏻💙
You went to Portsmouth aswell as Trinity. Great show in Bristol, was nice to meet Damon again and get him to sign my parklife album cover.Cant believe it's 20 years since parklife came out..
Well done on gettng Park Life signed. Would have loved to get my Everyday Robots CD sleeve signed and had it with me just in case on both nights, but I didn't have your knack, willgooday!
Automorph I do not wish to boast, but I also met him two years ago in Bristol during the Africa Express tour,Ian Birrell the AE organiser got me past security after the show to meet him where he was sat on a fold up chair smoking with Alex James. Couldn't believe my luck, Alex had nothing to do with AE, he was just there .. He was also at the Trinity at Abarns gig, I saw him by the back doorway, I waited for while to get autograph but turns out he had left through the other door. Great gig all I got to do now is see a Blur concert.would be great if the Gorillaz tour again, went to the show at the 02 London was amazing hope they do it again someday.
willgooday Nice one! I'm with you on those hopes re Gorillaz and Blur - mind you Damon seems to excel at anything he turns his hand to. Did you see Monkey or Dr Dee?
Automorph No I did not get to see Monkey or Dr Dee. He's an extraordinary talent I think he deserves a lot more recognition for his massive contribution to music than he gets,I think he deserves an MBE although he would probably not want it.
I was hoping this time to get some quality photos and some hd video's.So had my dslr camera and was about 3 or 4 people back from the stage perfect for few pics/vids,just getting camera ready and Albarn's bald organiser security guy told me No professional photography, just my luck if I had my old camera it would have been fine.
my plan was to try and get one good quality pic and make my own personal poster with my signed parklife cover and frame it.
It was such a great night I can't really moan. The annoying thing is I know where he was going after the gig, they went to Cosies wine bar in St Pauls but I couldn't go I had to get back home.
Anyway glad you have some videos . :)
willgooday That's a real shame you didn't get a chance to take a photo to go with your signed cover - or to go to Cosies after. And if only my wife and I had known too - mind you, we'd then have had to find out where Cosie's was!
