Thank you so much!! Wow what I nice compliment. I'm glad you liked this. I recently started a new series on stencil making and plan to do some gel print videos using the stencils I make for the series. I hope you'll watch. 🥰
Really enjoyed this tutorial. Learnt heaps & I’ve been Gelli printing for a couple of years now! Thank you 😊 And hope your son & daughter-in-law’s wedding goes really well. Love that she’s asked you to create things for it 💕
Thank you! I'm so happy to hear you learned something new. That's awesome! Yes...they've been together over 7 years so we know each other well which makes it even more fun and we are very similar in taste and style so I've had a great time working with her. ❤️
Thank you, Sherri, yes, you said my name right, and thank you for giving me ideas for my gelli prints. I love your stencils! And the prints you made with them are gorgeous. The tiles too! Great idea. M x
You are so welcome! Thank you for your comment. I'm having waaayyyy to much fun making these....so much so that I'm finding it hard to do other things I should be doing. ☺️❤️
Thank you so much Sherri, I really really enjoyed watching you take you through the prints and the stencils that you’d created. Absolutely fantastic and Fabulous too, I absolutely love ❤❤❤❤ them all. Please stay safe and well too xxxx Mags ❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much! I just love the look of turquoise and metal so tend to play with them often. Definitely not an expert just learning and sharing. Thanks for watching and leaving your comment. 🥰
Congratulations on your son’s upcoming wedding. I love all these creations. The art journal is really cool. I have a Cricut maker too , you’ve inspired me to try and make some stencils. Thank you ! 💕
I am utterly captivated by your gelli plate work!! Especially the batch you showed for the first 9 minutes. Those stencils and how you use them? Amazing✨ Looking forward to going through and watching your other videos to see your other work!
I received my new Geli Plates last week and this video has really inspired me to simply experiment with the layers. I enjoyed how you did this in mostly real time. Favorite: your tip with making the stencil stamps with joint compound. Genius! Thank you!
Welcome back! You probably haven't missed too much. I haven't been posting videos as frequently. Life calls... and then when I get back into the studio I don't know where to start...🥰
Thank you so much! I just changed it a bit after using it. I think I'll like the 2.0 version better.....we'll see. That's part of the fun of making your own...you can make adjustments as needed. 🥰
Sherri!! Thank you for your Cricut setting responses …I would have given up and shipped the machine back, except for your creative and extraordinary videos! You are a truly supportive and professional teacher!! My final settings after several trashed mats and tossed acetate sheets (and many grumpy words) are: vinyl 04 mm with more pressure.
I'm so happy to hear you worked it out and didn't give up. I know how frustrating it can be. I tried so many of the presets but never did find one that worked for me and had to create my own. I'm glad you stuck with it. Now is where the fun begins. 🥰
Thanks for subbing! So sorry about the frustration. I guess I must not have been clear in the video. All the stencils are ones I've created for my own use. Since the making of this video, I've created two video series where I start with the very basics about making your own stencils. I'm cutting mine with a Cricut Maker but from comments I have received from those who have watched my series, the ideas also work with other cutting machines or cutting by hand. I've thought about offering my designs as svg files in my Etsy shop but haven't done that to date. 🥰
This is really inspirational! I have a lot of stencils more or less like some of yours (can't make my own yet) and I love the mix and match/grungy approach.
Awesome! Thank you! I've since done two series on stencil making so I hope you'll check those out too. After the current series I'm working on I hope to do some more gel printing videos as well. I so glad to hear you're finding inspiration. ❤️
Thank you. Yes absolutely! Go to my channel and you'll see my playlists on stencil making. Start with the first series Stencil Making 101 (14 videos) and then continue with Stencil Making 2.0 (7 videos).
Really informative! I don’t have a cricut machine although I’d love one. It’s great to see how you’ve used it! Your gel prints are great, especially the grungy colors!
Hi Sandy. Thank you so much! I do love my grunge. I think everyone has certain colors they are drawn to and we seem to always go back to those. Just look around your house or in your closet 😉.
Wow im amazed by your beautiful stencils and color choices, been watching lots of gel plate tutorials and i must say your work and details of explaining are the best Ive seen So beautiful Thanks so much for sharing also visited your Etsy shop and your prints are amazing I will definitely be ordering soon, do you sell your beautiful stencils?
Thank you so much! I haven't sold any stencils at this point. I've been toying with the idea of selling my favorites and maybe even selling just my svgs files so that people with a cutting machine can cut their own.
Thank you so much! After this video, I did two stencil series, Stencil Making 101: ruclips.net/p/PLLZLDkP8ZTq3bcQLnOVJ-NrfjYCPhP4PA and Stencil Making 2.0: ruclips.net/p/PLLZLDkP8ZTq0buwdeFLyb2AXfF75GUg8_
Thank you for watching! I've since made two series of videos showing how I started making my own stencils. You can find those playlists on my channel. Here's a link to the Black Flash paint: amzn.to/4fMUDPN ❤️
Excellent tutorial. Do you have a tutorial on how you make your stencils? What material do you cut them out on, do you use a Cricut etc? Very interested to know. Thank you.
Thank you and yes I do. After making this video I did two series on stencil making. Checkout my channel and you'll find the playlists there. Stencil Making 101 starts very basic with or without a cutting machine. I do use a Cricut Maker so the videos cover this as well. I use both Cricut Design Space but also other methods for stencil making. Things get much more creative in Stencil Making 2.0 so I hope you'll check them both out.
Hi Angela. Thank you so much! I have started making my own stencils using my Cricut Maker. There was a previous video where I shared this: ruclips.net/video/ONoX3ZgHCAo/видео.html. I am going to begin a new series very soon where I will share more in depth all that I am learning about making your own stencils. There will be an introductory video soon explaining what I'll be covering so I hope you'll stay tuned! ❤️
thank you. I love your work, especially your use of color. I can't understand how you could have cut all those intricate stencils. Can you explain how you do that? I hope you continue to share your explorations in mixed media.
Thank you so much! I'm using my Cricut Maker. I have a previous video where I show how I make them. It took me a bit to get the right settings for the material I was using so I share that as well. Here's a link: ruclips.net/video/ONoX3ZgHCAo/видео.html 🥰
Hi Kate. Thank you for your input. I think I've only made one voice over video ever so I need to maybe get more comfortable with that. I am planning to do more gel print videos to go along with the new stencil making series I've started. I prefer to just put music on while I create so that might be a fun way to do this series. Record my gel print sessions while I listen to music and then do voice over for the video. I'll have to try that...🥰
Thank you. Yes I did a video with out I've been making stencils with with my Cricut. I've been asked to do a more detailed video on the subject so I may try and do that soon. I think I'd also like to make a video(s) making stencils with different materials and without a machine. Here's a link to the one I have so far: ruclips.net/video/ONoX3ZgHCAo/видео.html ❤️
I use a Cricut Maker with Samsil Craft Plastic. I created two series after this video that show in great detail my journey into stencil making. Start with Stencil Making 101. ruclips.net/p/PLLZLDkP8ZTq3bcQLnOVJ-NrfjYCPhP4PA 🥰
Thank you! I've actually done two series on stencil making since the making of this video. I'd start with the first series which is Stencil Making 101: ruclips.net/p/PLLZLDkP8ZTq3bcQLnOVJ-NrfjYCPhP4PA Then there's a second series called Stencil Making 2.0 which is a continuation. Enjoy! ❤️
Just started watching you. May I ask some questions? Do you sell your stencils? If not, what do you use to cut them? What material do you use? I love your prints, especially the complex ones with pattern over pattern. I need to buy more iridescent paints.
Welcome! Thank you for watching. I do not sell my stencils at this point. I have had several requests. I do not work with a manufacturer so I would be cutting them myself. I may do a poll with several of my favorites to see if there's interest and then put a few in my Etsy shop. Otherwise, I've also thought about selling the SVGs so that a person could purchase a file with multiple designs and cut them at home. I do share so much information in my the two series I created after the video you watched. Stencil Making 101: ruclips.net/p/PLLZLDkP8ZTq3bcQLnOVJ-NrfjYCPhP4PA and then there's a Stencil Making 2.0 created after. Yes, I love working with metallic and iridescent paints. You might start with just purchasing some iridescent medium which you can mix with any paint to may it iridescent. You will find all the product links including the craft plastic I use in the description of the videos. ❤️
How long does it usually take for the pickup sheet to dry when cleaning off your gel plate? I always seem to have a lot of paint still on the plate! Also, does it matter how long the dry paint has benn on the plate? Will it still come off if left overnight or a couple days?
Thank you for watching. Drying time depends on several factors including where you live and how humid it is there. It also depends on how much paint is on the plate. It really doesn't take much paint and the more you have on the longer it will take to dry. I often put too much paint on and will use a piece of tissue or deli paper to remove some of the paint before I finish rolling. This just takes practice. You should leave your final paper on and rub evenly; this will help you to feel when it's dry enough to remove. The paper will start out feeling cold and maybe even damp as you rub. Once you feel like you've rubbed enough you can leave it on for a bit or lift one corner to see if it's ready to pull. If it's not, I'd wait ten minutes or so and check it again. I wouldn't leave the paper on for more than 20 minutes or so because then the paper might be stuck to your plate and be a mess trying to peel off. This especially happens if you are using something like old book page for your pull. You only want to leave old book page on for a few minutes. As far as the old paint that's left behind on your plate you can either clean it off or leave it like I do. I often like a grungy look so I leave all that paint left behind on the edges and just put my gel plate back in its shell like that until next time. If you want to clean your gel plate and you have dry paint on it, I like to use some white or light color paint and just roll it out on the plate. This will soften the old paint underneath and you should be able to pull the whole thing off and have a clean plate. If you still have some unwanted paint left behind, I use a baby wipe to rub it off. I hope this helps. 🥰
Hi Judy. I’m working on an in-depth series. Here’s a link to the first half: STENCIL MAKING 101 with Cricut & More ruclips.net/p/PLLZLDkP8ZTq3bcQLnOVJ-NrfjYCPhP4PA
I love Japanese rice paper. I've tried a few recommended by other channels but found my own favorite which is this one from Amazon: amzn.to/3uYmBFw. It is two sided with a smoother side and a rough side. I use the smooth side for pulling my prints. Happy creating! ❤️
Thank you so much for asking, I have had this question several times now. I've also been asked if I'd share or sell my SVG's for those wanting to cut their own using my patterns. I am seriously considering doing something like this so I appreciate your interest. I will try to work on this over the coming year. I've had a rough year or so of health issues that have kept me from doing as much in 2023 as I would have liked. I will be out of commission for the next couple of months recovering from surgery and am hopeful that the rest of my year will be much more productive so stay tuned. I'm sure when I have something available I will share it here as well as on my Facebook and Instagram. Thank you 🙏
@@heartandsoulfuldesign I’m so sorry…I hope you’re able to recover quickly. It’s been a tough four years with my mom. I’m sole caregiver and she’s had issues after issues. The worst…shingles in her mouth and throat. I’ve recently discovered geli plates and I’m loving them. Helps to temporarily escape from watching someone I love suffering all the time. I hope you’re better soon . ❤️ from 🇨🇦
Thank you. I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. Watching our loved ones age and decline in health is very hard so I'm glad you have found a way to take care of yourself creatively. Gel plates are a great way to relax and escape. I'm anxious to get this surgery over with and get back into the studio hopefully sooner than later 🙏🏼❤️

I'm not sure if your comment is a criticism or a compliment regarding this video. I hope you learned something from this video as I have also been criticized for too much talk by some. In my case, I'm just learning as I go and sharing what I figure out in case it can be helpful for others. Thank you for watching.
I' ve seen so many gel plate tutorials, but this is the best one I found so far. You explained everything so precisely and clearly, thanks so much!

@@heartandsoulfuldesign Thank you so much. This is very helpful!
I'm glad this was helpful.
How did you make all the stencils? I’m new here
Hi Judy. I’m working on an in-depth series. Here’s a link to the first half: STENCIL MAKING 101 with Cricut & More

What kind of paper do you use?
I love Japanese rice paper. I've tried a few recommended by other channels but found my own favorite which is this one from Amazon: amzn.to/3uYmBFw. It is two sided with a smoother side and a rough side. I use the smooth side for pulling my prints. Happy creating! ❤️
👍👍👍💕💕💕🇩🇰
Tak fordi du så med🥰
Do you sell stencils?
Hello, i Hope you are fine... I don't understand all what you Say because i m french 😂 and you havent the subscribe in french, i m so sad for that because you are thé best teacher for gell press technique... I Hope you make thé subscribe in french please ❤ because i love so much all your vidéo... Take Care Big kisses...
Oh mon! 😉 ❤️
@@heartandsoulfuldesign ohhhh 🥰🥰🥰😍🥰 thank you so so much i m so happy to see and understand all what you Say on yours vidéos ,thanks for that, if you have any question for the substitle in RUclips studio, i have a chanel too and y help you if you want... Take Care Big kisses ❤️😍🥰😘
I looked at doing subtitles and it seems complicated and like a lot of work since you have to do each language separately?

I'm not sure if your comment is a criticism or a compliment regarding this video. I hope you learned something from this video as I have also been criticized for too much talk by some. In my case, I'm just learning as I go and sharing what I figure out in case it can be helpful for others. Thank you for watching.
