What awesome fun you were having ;-) That Eagle didn't seem to care for the Phoenix V2 much but I really like it. See you in the Air!
Nice one! Whereabouts is Mt Terrible? - I could see one in the high country but I'm guessing it's not that one...
Fleurieu Peninsula SA overlooking Aldinga Beach
Mr. Newton. Please look up swallowtail kite. They are my local split-tail raptors. I can hear their babies this time of year from nest 25m / 75ft treetops calling for food to be brought back for them.
It’s a bit of fun until they catch the plane, my battery and canopy is still on Mt Hollow Back. Luckily got the weasel back.
Nice that is just up the road from me... I recently moved to the Barossa. I might have to bring one of your old models up.
Down the road maybe. It overlooks Aldinga
I fly with those birds on the eastern edge of the Adelaide hills here and they will tear the crap out of your plane if they can get hold of it. They are very aggressive and skilled flyers that will out turn and out manoeuvre you every time if determined. I’ve found the only way to get away is to out climb them.
that was terrible.. i mean excellent. Lovely day except for the weather cutting things short !
That’s crazy being chased by an eagle. Nice flying to get away. A nice rainbow to finish the day off 👍🏻
That Eagle had no chance at that speed...He's probably really pissed off now...lol ...🤔😳😳😳😳🇬🇧
Got a Wedgie that turns up fairly regularly at our Sunday sessions. On a rare occasion as many as 3 - must be a family group in the breeding season. Never seems to bother our foamy gliders, just seems curious as to where the thermals are. Of course we are in a valley so are not up in his territory as you are there! ;-) Might put the FPV Flying Fish up to look at him. Fast enough to get well away from him if he gets stroppy.
The 1 that regularly takes umbrage is a little butcherbird. Has been a help on a couple of occasions when stuff went bush. Just follow Butchie to find it. :-)
Love that site! I'VE had times with hawks but Buzzards seem more friendly. Gulls can be aggressive but Pelicans not bad at all as long as you dont interfere with the group in formation
Never seen that spot. Ty. The swallow tail kite was so cool. We have similar birds here. They do not care about rc planes in their airspace. I have seen red tail hawks attack regularly but never a slit tail bird. What king of bird was it?
I’ve already had this kind of problem with seagulls on the seaside. They are even more aggressive and especially they don’t give up easily!
You outmaneuvered the Wedge-tailed Eagle pretty good!
He just gave up, and went away. :-)
That bird wanted a piece of you're bird 🤣🇺🇸
I liked Al's landing better...Had more punch to it!!
He wins for pin point landing!
Very Nice,Sir! :)
So great to see you back at it!
The slopes are therapeutic.
Loved the video. Nice landing Andrew ;)
Stunning view and lovely experience :)
The honest review of a professional flyer.
Brilliant. Trying to give the Wedge-tail Eagle some acrobatic lessons.
Great control reaction and landing demonstrations. Small bit of difference in timing could make for very different outcomes.
Hopefully you two made it back to the car, before the downpour hit.
We did but it bucketed down.
What a spot you found
Excellent
Delightful flying simply delightful!!
Many thanks!
Great fun! Hope the rock was ok.
I may have mentioned a while back that I was flying a glider in front of an oncoming large rain cloud, which turned out to be a hail storm!. But just like in this video I could see every detail of the approaching deluge. It was the best lift I've ever had while flying! Incredible, and I suddenly realised just how small my 2.5mtr glider had become! I literally had to forcefully fly it downwards to get it back. Or at least that's how it seemed in my mind. I don't know exactly how far away or how high it was, but I'm sure it was several miles! 😉
The rock was a bit dented
@@AndrewNewton Poor thing!
Just awesome 👌
💕🔥👍
Great video, thanks. I have never flown at Mt Terrible. On the bucket list.
Stunning spot
Wonder what the Wedgie thought when you powered up and flew away?
No motor used, just the plentiful fit and space.
That's a long drive to get rained on...
But well worth it
