I took my friend who never seen overlord to the movie, even told him you don't need to know much they have a kinda prologue going in. Poor guy thought Ainz was a good guy 😂

I saw the movie with my brother and we were both surprised about the doppelganger at the end but he only watches the anime without looking into cut content so I had to explain the race to him 😅 he thought it was pandora's actor
My only real complaint about the movie is how they pushed up the final fight. The way they depicted it in the novels felt way more fucked up and devious when Yaldabaoth shows up in front of the human army and starts roasting them alive and we're seeing that from the humans perspective.
Count of Monte Cristo is my favorite book. The anime is decent, I think it could have been a little bit better, but the madoka art style is very unique for sure.
I was greatly disappointed on how they said they had to do the movie format to show the more gruesome stuff. Only to wimp out and not show the gruesome stuff AND have to cut out large chunks of the story to get it in movie format. At this point I feel making the movie was a mistake, and they should have done a series so they would not have had to cut out so much content. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the movie and was very hyped. But now that I got a chance to step back and take a deep breath to analyze the situation, I just realized how bad of a deal we got here compared to what we could have gotten in either other situation. (1: A proper length season with most content intact. 2: A movie that showed EVERYTHING mentioned in the novels.)
I mean considering how Overlord anime overall handles the content I think the movie covered about as much as we would have gotten in anime version (around 5 to 6 episodes max maybe?? 7 tops). Overlord as a whole deserved each season of anime to be 2 volumes instead of the usual 3 they do, but it is that's not what we got - I mean that's why channels like this one exists.
@@ettoreozzy9932 Nah, they cut out a lot of the earlier parts for the movie. And King Buser's fight was cut out completely. Talk about getting blue balled. Call me one of the 8 Greed Kings, I just wanted it all instead of a half-half solution.
