  • A couple of months ago, I went to Peak Rail, and whilst there I filmed them propelling into Matlock Riverside from out of the window, in such a way that it looked like a driver's eye view. Now, two months later, here it is!

"Driver's eye view"? Was the driver sitting on the rear buffers of the last coach?

No, they were propelling - but you can imagine!

What are the instructions that the guard keeps relaying to the driver??

"Keep setting back; keep setting back"

@@PHsRailwayVideos Thanks that's interesting! So I guess the meaning is like "keep on reversing". The driver would not have a clear view of the track, but the guard does.

@@Firenzaman Exactly - there's no run-round loop at Matlock, so the loco has to push the coaches to one half a mile up, and the end coach has a window through which the guard can see. A really interesting system, and the only one of its type I've ever seen!
