Graham does the most sensible thing any interviewer shud which is y his show is enjoyable... He asks a question, shuts up & actually let's the guest answer 😅
How is it that WE know that small but hugely important gem but sooo so many obscenely paid talk show hosts seem to have missed it ?
and wine lol
Couldn't agree more! Far too many "interviewers" really don't do that. Lorraine Kelly is famous in the UK but she really won't shut up after asking a question! the celebrity just manages a one word answer before she's off again! Some times talking over the top of that one word answer too!!
Yes he’s a master
Graham is the best, hands down. I've NEVER felt that awkward feeling you get during a lot of these sit downs with celebrities while watching Graham. Complete gentleman who is very good with social situations.
You can tell those two are friends by the way they speak to each other
Yeah they definitely fucked.
NORTON: [shows picture of Thompson and Grant as young actors]
THOMPSON & GRANT: Awwww.
They do sound like an old married couple.
They sound like people who slept together 15 years ago
I love British humor.
Emma Thompson is a national treasure, and I will always adore her. She is so absolutely charming in everything she does.
I have always thought it was a shame that her marriage with Kenneth Branagh didn't work out because they seemed to make a great couple. They were both so great in Dead Again and especially Much Ado About Nothing.
Never liked her. She always seemed rather haughty.
💯
@@jonhohensee3258 she's actually not at all. I've met her at a cricket match and she was quite friendly and lovely.
@@theukyankee Well I played chess with her and she was haughty the whole time.
"He knew that I wasn't gonna cough up!"
She's brilliant! 😂😂😂
Can you please explain what she means by 'cough up' ?
He knew she wasn't going to have sex with him, so he didn't try to be nice around her. @@sshakababy
@@sshakababy Cough up the goodies.
Her goodies. 😂
@@sshakababy she was not potential lover material
@@sshakababy cough up usually means to pay for something, in this case though i think shes using it as a way to say sleep with him.
Emma is total class and I love her. Hugh got better as he grew older. True. Still, Emma’s intelligence and wit are tops. ❤
I think people realised Hugh had a dry sense of humour for real, he was always condescending about himself.
When he was younger they just couldn't get past his looks so wouldn't let him be a character actor.
Now he's older he can play the villain and get more meatier rolls.
I completely agree. She's wonderfully bonkers and has self confidence at a level I aspire to as she's always so herself in every situation ❤
@@blozzjani this is a brilliant analysis of Hugh’s career!
Well... they both are... that's Cambridge University for you ❤
I was an extra on an Emma film, Beautiful Creatures…it was south Louisiana in the summer, hot, humid and miserable but she kept a good attitude and was really nice to everyone.
These two together are hilarious and truly like brother & sister.
That still made out. Isn’t that lovely ?
Exactly what I wanted to say … just like a bro and sis
Emma is eternally Gorgeous!
Two great actors.
I love the banter between them...
I love these 2 actors souch!❤😊
Love them both ❤!!
Their Sense and Sensibility film is my favorite one! They were so very good! All of the actors/actresses were! You couldn’t tell there’s no attraction between them!
Emma got her Oscar for the best screenplay or something. So talented
Yes yes, very sad is about the most English response he could’ve given.
Timed perfectly.
he's Irish
@@ericadunn9435 Who?? :D
@@ericadunn9435 he really isn't
@@ericadunn9435 graham is irish. hugh's parents are scottish (both grant and laurie) as well as emma's mum
Love their banter coming from what seems to be a great friendship.
Love them both.
Emma is just brilliant! They both clearly are friends. She is naturally humerus. ❤
Is that because of her funny bone?
How can you not love Emma Thompson?? She is such an incredibly funny and smart person ❤❤❤
Everyone needs a friend like Emma and a brother like Hugh.
i have a brother like hugh... its hard work
It’s such a treat when I am able to watch the show.Gram is an excellent interviewer, he rarely says anything so we get hear a cast of characters talk to each other on the couch.
Impromptu is great, he's Chopin, wonderful, Judy Davis is George Sand, Julian Sands is Liszt, Emma Thompson is in it, so is Mandy Patinkin... highly recommend it.
Totally agree! And the music is amazing!
it is definitely a wonderful movie
thx for the tip! Id recc also to anyone who likes such films, IMMORTAL BELOVED w Gary O as Beethoven, also OUTSTANDING!
It's sooooo great!!
Both actors are such talented people, among the best of our time.
Awwww... I love both of them. I’d jump whenever one of their films came out. Many I’d rewatch.
Have❤
I could watch her and this clip forever. She’s just a gem!!!!!
"Now Hugh... now, you've called Emma, 'mad as a chair.'" And we all sit back.
😂
He didn't say it in a nasty way...and everyone knows Emma is delightfully mad as a box of frogs...lol❤
@usercarefree44 oh, I completely agree! I just think it would bring some really great fun!
Emma is serious actress, but her sense of humor is top notch.
Yeah she thought it was hilarious when she took a private jet to a climate change protest.
She actually started out as a comedian. I wish like mad that there were copies of "Thompson," her variety show, out there somewhere!
@@amyhull754 I never knew!
@@erldagerl9826, most people don't! She's a fabulous comedian, and was part of the Cambridge Footlights along with her classmates Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie when they were all at university. All of them, including Kenneth Branagh and Em's mum Phyllida Law, were in the Rita Rudner screenplay of the film "Peter's Friends" in 1992.
And, of course, Emma wrote the screenplay for the 1995 Sense and Sensibility (with a very young Kate Winslet, and with Alan Rickman, Hugh Grant, Hugh Laurie, Imelda Staunton, and a whole cast of Great British Actors), for which she won an Oscar or Adapted Screenplay; she is the only person to win Oscars for both Screenplay and Best Actress!
@@amyhull754 Her variety show was allegedly cancelled after a mouse / tampon joke was considered a step too far. LOL! I too wish I could see some of it. I believe the ratings were not fantastic so perhaps the producers were looking for any excuse to pull the plug.
Madly in love with Hugh even after all these years
Graham's an artist at whatever it is that he does.
I fecking Love hugh grant but only as he got older he stopped taking himself so serious and no i find him so funny and genuine ❤❤❤😂😂❤❤❤
When did he take himself seriously? He’s always seemed very cavalier to me.
@@oolala53my point exactly 😂😂😂 it was obvious he wasn't taking it seriously but obviously some people didn't see it untill he got older.
He was brilliant as the gay reporter in The Gentlemen
ok but i genuinely loved them in sense and sensibility and thought they had amazing chemistry
I love hearing how Hugh Grant admits to always being grumpy! 😂
He is, though 😉😂
Emma is an INTERNATIONAL TREASURE!!
How can you not Love Hugh Grant he’s so funny. Love him ❤
Wonderful actors, love them both!!
The Remains of the Day is a movie not to be missed
Remains of the Day is a terrific film from Merchant/Ivory team👏🏻👍🏻
Loved it, haven't seen it in ages though so it's due a rewatch
One of the finest movies ever, it's story, the setting, all about the lives of the two main characters and both their suppressed loving inner feelings towards eachother. A story about loyalty, duty discipline from an age that is gone now, and was surely fading away just after the war. It really moved me, it really did!!
great book too
Hugh was also in Maurice, another stellar Merchant & Ivory film!!
Remains of the Day is one of the greatest films ever made. It was a story about two people whose prim and proper facade smothered burning passions that were never fulfilled. Anthony Hopkins and Emma Thompson gave magnificent performances.
😂❤ love these two mates. It's like being back with your old college besties.
Hugh grant is a very underated actor .
Do you think Grant has shown the range of someone like DanielDay-Lewis, or Heath, ledger, Or Viggo Mortensen? I know he’s played at least one unsympathetic character, but he just basically plays pretty much the same character all the time or did up until the last 10 years. I think he’s rated pretty well.
I enjoy all his movies a lot but he is always playing the same person😅
He's also very, very, funny " and then I got arrested half-,way through" 😂😂
@@oolala53to make those characters believable and likeable you have to be good at your craft!
Soo many actors can't do that.
Heath basically mumbled through every film soo much soo most needed subtitles to actually work out what he said. Brokeback mountain was is a case in point.
@@oolala53Daniel Day Lewis is a ligue of his alone
Hugh, saying, "very sad", made me laugh.
He Couldn't care less
It's just how Brits express profound loss
Two of my favorites....and Graham is always a gem
One of the great breaches between my mother's sensibilities and my own, was that she despised Emma Thompson -- whom I adore. To this day I maintain in my heart of hearts that mama was secretly seething with jealousy because Thompson is so very, very, talented and beautiful.
She has a brilliant voice for acting. Such a natural actress and Hugh is very good too. 🎉🎉🎉
yes! the tone of her voice is perfection 👌
I love Emma Thompson!❤
Graham's show is the best.
Emma Thompson is one of those actors you just wish was your best friend
Remains of the Day is a breathtaking achievement. If you haven't, you must see it! ❤
For some reason I’ve always had the hours for Emma Thompson.
If these two decided to have a podcast, they’d be an instant hit
They’re both so wonderful 🥰
Love what honest, casual friends these two are. 😂 Very British in a way.
After he got arrested he was doing an interview and he said
"i don't like to blow my own trumpet... As you well know"
That made me like him even more, being able to joke about it rather than getting his agent to demand it's not bought up
Her smile is so brilliant, it’s electric! Only other person who can effortlessly light up a room doing the same exact thing is, Julia Roberts (God bless her) but Emma adds a edge to it with her British accent and sharp as a knife wit which just leaves you dying without knowing you’ve ever been stabbed!!
Hugh is Hugh, forever a British school boy no matter how old he gets - it’s uncontrollably adorable and impossible to keep your panties on around him, I’d imagine.
🤢
Their interaction is so precious 😆🌹🫶
From a previous show…………………………….
Hugh; Emma is lovely but is mad as a chair
Graham: Yes, and in fairness - quite a mad chair.
It is to be fare a family of mad chairs the Thompson Clan. Love her Mom and Dad too
😂❤
❤😂
He really seems to get to best out of his guests.
Cus they are aloud to talk. He's not trying to get to the next question all the time.
Que jóvenes y hermosos eran!
Él sigue siendo muy atractivo y muy buen actor. Ella es y será siempre bellísima y una excelentísima actriz, además de una mujer excepcional.
❤❤❤❤❤
I guess fame makes you forget your less fortunate movies? Anyway, I love Emma and how she is so droll❣️ I love that type of humor. Shes also such a talented actress. I first remember her in Dead Again. I don’t know if Sense & Sensibility had come out yet, but I also love THAT movie, too!! It’s great to see a little offscreen personality in these videos. Thanks for sharing.
Sense and sensibilities with these 2 has to be one of my all time favorites ❤🎉🎉❤they're funny here
I think you could make a television show out of conversations between Emma and Hugh. I know I would watch.😂😂😂
Emma didn't really need Hugh on that set, though, did she? She met Greg. ❤
Emma Thompson made me laugh when she was dancing at a audience with Adele, she got everyone up she’s so down to earth 😊
“Yes, yes. Very sad. Very sad.”
He was gorgeous 😍
I adore these 2 together.
Emma Thompson is Great 🤩
I dont care how grumpy he was. Sense and Sensibility is one of the best films of all time!!!
Both great actors.
Emma Thompson is a rare miracle.
I just love these two…
I love Emma Thompson so much!
I love these two, whether or not they're acting!
Graham Norton is a great interviewer. Love his shows. Nx♥️🥰
They are fantastic together. Read Emma Thompsons diary of the shooting of Sense and Sensibility. Its fantastic.
I love both of them
OMG they are so fantastic together. I need an Actors on Actors or something with them!
This short is the very definition of "British humor".
Total crush on emma Thompson and always will do. ❤
Emma is a class act❤
Emma should run for PM. she's brilliant and kind and diplomatic but no fool/pushover. She'd get the job done, and well! The world needs a leader like her!
Love their self-deprecating humor. So British
These two are the best actors ever soooo naturally talented real fantastic actors. Truly funny ,naturally funny . The bedt of the best .
I could watch an entire show of just Hugh Grant and Emma Thompson spilling about each other.
What's so great about Graham Norton is that his shows format allows guest to truly relax and just let it all out.
I love these two!
Remains of the Day, one of my all time favourites as is Sense and Sensibility
🙏💙🩵🙏
I bloody love Emma. She's so funny😂
emma thompson as nurse lemon is my favourite her & jeff goldblum were hilarious
Love them both.
Love British humor😂❤
Love this two great actors 💕💕
Both great British actors, we have the best actors in the world.
Emma Thompson. My favourite actress.
Emma's memory of her friend's work. 🎉🎉
Self depreciation is irresistibly appealing.
Two people who kinda just don't give a shit. I love 'em both.
I would tune in to watch a weekly show with Graham, Emma and Hugh just hanging out and bantering.
i think she met her hubby on sense and sensibity. He was the gorgeous suitor that broke kate winslet's heart
Wasnt she married with that pompous actor who made murderon the orient express remake?
@ yes: she definitely upgraded🥰greg wise is so 🔥
The both of them going "very sad" together is hilarious in a very funny interview.
I love these two xx
I remember Hugh earlier in his career. His hair was so black and thick. His lustreous hair engulfed his head and made him the better for it.
Omg! I forgot about his arrest, in the states with that lady of the night; Divine Brown.
She got a payday out of it from the press!😅
He got more famous 😅
But during which filming?
Hugh Just oozes charm all the time, even by just saying hi....
Even I forgot IMPROMPTU and I'm obsessed with that movie!!!!
Hrd not to like Hugh Grant, he just seems so disassociated, i respect that
Hugh smirking, trying not laugh. Both so funny.
