This should be played in a montage, every winter olympics. I'll never forget watching this with my dad and thinking...."how is he still alive. IMPOSSIBLE."
I saw him after his award ceremony in Nagano. No words just a wave from a distance at night as we walked separate ways on the street. He seemed as if he wanted to connect to another round-eye there. I was pretty oblivious but waved anyways. The people of Nagano were truly amazing. I hope he appreciated their hospitality.
michael tenik You should be! Your tiny Country has produced many great people; Mozart, Brandauer, Hedy Lamarr, Maximilian Schell, Romy Schneider, Arnold, Fuchs, Klimt, Haydn, Strauss, Schubert, Glock, Porsche, Hayek, Von Mises, Asperger, Freud, Frankl, Moser-Proell, Klammer, Meier,
Der finnische Kommentator sagte das gleiche was ich mir damals im ersten Moment dachte: Hermann Maier.... Hurrrrrrrerei! Das Comeback später im RTL war umso geiler.
This crash is the most extreme I have seen in my life and not oonly did he survive. He won olymic gold in a race just a a couple of days after. That is proof that angels exist.
I’m back because every once in awhile for the last 25 years, this replays in my head.
3 days later. He wins gold.

This poor chap won 3 days later the Gold Medal in the Super Ski and 2 days after that the Gold medal in the giants Slalom.
