Nice work. I have a qplane setup with tilt rotors and a tail motor, same setup as your wing. Having issues with qautotune, takes to long to finish even doing one axis at a time. Maybe you can make a video about ardupilot vlot tuning. I’m Going to try manual tuning next.
You’re right. I was being lazy and wanted to make sure you could see the rotors spinning on video. But thank you for mentioning this. Better safe than sorry. 👍
Hi Dennis, would you be so kind as to share your . stl files for the tilt mechanisms? I have scoured thingyverse and other places but I haven't seen a design as nice and simple as yours. Great work man. Thanks, Bill.
I need to revisit the project. I lost everything after I had a crash and the elevons broke. So I ended up using the Pixhawk for another project and overwrote the firmware/params. I will be working on a new build soon, but my original was largely inspired by this project: docs.px4.io/v1.9.0/en/frames_vtol/vtol_tailsitter_caipiroshka_pixracer.html my biggest challenge was designing the motor mounts since I'm a rookie when it comes to 3D design. Thanks for the good words and I wish you the best of luck with your project.
Hey Dennis! Earlier this summer, I bounced off of trying to get PX4 to work on the MiniHawk-VTOL as it made more sense to stick with ArduPilot to save time. Would you like to team up? Its too bad that the Convergence is discontinued; I hope that the MiniHawk-VTOL can fill the void left by it and perhaps improve on things?
I was really expecting some video on VTOL, the wait is over. I wish you luck for the transition, waiting for the next video.
Thank you. I just finished tuning and will share that soon. After that I be will attempt the maiden transition.

Nice work, do you know the px4 supports tilt servos for fixed-wing flight?
Trying things on the bench with props on it scared the **** out of me, be careful Dennis!

Excellent ...!!!
I have an older pixhawk which i cant seem to find the eflite convergence frame map for.
Im running vmu2
uau muito legal e interessante ..

Is there a way that I can make a command in the mission planer so that before taking off the ardupilot tilts the rotors to a desired angle?
Nice, where did you get the Convergence - seems to be out of stock everywhere.
It was a real pain to find. Ended up finding it on eBay. I’ve been wondering why this discontinued it. Such a fun VTOL to fly.
Hi Dennis, love your work, is there a way that you can provide me with the simple tail sitter ardu setup program, please.
thanks

Would love to chat about this further. I followed up with our previous correspondence on LinkedIn. Thanks.
