This one took quite a while to... get started, I guess. tbh, I really, really hate this song, it sounds terrible. And remixing it was a little hard, trying to find the right instruments and notes. But I'm remixing almost the entire Forces OST, it has to be done.
I also got a neat snare sample... REALLY neat snare sample. ;)

I mean, this doesn’t exactly sound like the Genesis- the main lead instrument is from Sonic 4, a game not known for its Genesis accuracy- but it “feels” a lot closer.

The guy responsible for the classic Sonic tunes was Naofumi Hataya, and he made quite a lot of 8 and 16-bit music.
Just the instrument choice that was horrendous.

The composition in this song is good, but it was the original’s instrumentation that was the biggest issue.
This is a lot more tolerable and catchy (and don’t think I didn’t notice that Splash Hill you threw in there).
No wonder it sounded a little familiar.
There was always some Splash Hill in this track, but he extrapolated on it.

I actually thought this song was pretty good beforehand, but this is definitely my preferred version of it! And that reference to Splash Hill Zone was a very nice touch!

I know *a lot* of Classic Green Hill (Faded Hills now?) remixes get told this, but since this seems to actually be using the Genesis instruments alongside more modern backing, _this_ is how the original should sound.
Newsflash: The Classic Tracks in Forces do in fact already use Genesis soundfont, it's just an issue of the choice of instrumentation. but yeah i would say Turret used a better choice of instrumentation
Well, damn, I feel like an idiot. I always heard the drums and knew they were original Genesis sounds, but the rest? I honestly thought it was a shoddy recreation.
In a way, knowing that makes the original Classic songs more depressing.

I love this song so much! It is a huge bummer that it had horrible instrumentation. Change those out as you did here, and you have one of my favorite songs of all time! Great job!

While I personally liked Green Hill because of its melody, it had an obvious weakness in the form of the instrumentation and the overly high pitch.

I love how Faded Hills used synths anyway so the Sonic 4 synths sound really natural (and the genesis instrumentation was a nice touch)

That one Synth sounds like it's ripped from Sonic 4. Unfortunately it's miles better than the horrid "genesis" sound font they used.

Well it isn't the best GHZ theme in the world, but this remake you made makes it sound much better.

I swear l LOVE the pokemon ruby/sapphire spots in this piece it gives me such happiness and memories
In my mind, I can see this as a stage for Chip & Dale to run through, collecting RR Emblems, throwing crates at Fat Cat's Minions, and picking up Zipper for Invincibility.

This proves that there was nothing wrong with the melody, it was just the instruments that were the problem.
To be perfectly honest here, this is what the original song should of sounded like. By now you would of figured that sonic team got their shit together at this point, but unfortunately for us, that doesn't seem to be the case. I do genuinely think you possibly could have the potential for sega to hire you.

I changed it to vaporwave and it actually sounds hopeful. Not like it normally sounds where whatever force in the world makes the music is trying to pretend everything is still the same when it so obviously isn't.
