Shayla, it’s been fun to track a wee bit behind you as you had your first, then my first, your second, then my second and now our THIRD babies. Thanks for sharing your real insights. One of my favorite things in the world is to watch my babies play together ❤ precious, precious

Im 20w with #6 and my eldest is 20. I can tell you, I know nothing lol Every baby is just a figure it out as you go. Every new age and stage is different, every sibling dynamic is different as you add to your family. Nothing is constant except inconsistency 😂 you got this mama! ❤

I keep all of my 3 year old’s shoes in the car because it’s a struggle to get him to wear them before we leave, but once we arrive to our destination he puts them on, no struggles LOL. We have a 3 year old boy and a nine month old boy!! It’s so fun, and the oldest is my sour patch kids 😅!!
I absolutely love watching what you put up in your videos each week, and know we’re all going through it together and doing the best we can 😊.

Love these journal / introspective style videos! You're such a good mom!!
I'm 99% sure I heard it from you, but this reminds me of the concept that "your kids teach you the type of parent they need."
My sister-in-law just had her second and is struggling a bit with how different she (a "fussy" baby) is compared to her first (very "easy" child). I heard this about my older sister (the "easy" one) and me (the "fussy" one) throughout growing up. Turns out half of it was gastrointestinal issues 🤣 and a different type of need (an emotional-observant way of relating to the world). My mom also had more personality traits like my older sister, so I'm sure that colored the way she felt about the "easiness" to handle one of us vs. the other. But I've also heard the first-borns are often easier? Idk!

My kids also hate getting ready to leave the house, I just leave shoes and jackets in the car now. That way I have less to carry while they resist. Lol.

Lol. My kid has had opinions since he was 18 months. He couldn't talk but boy does he make those opinions knows
My second is kinda chill so far. She's 6 months. She will cry if she's very tired or hot. But otherwise she's cool. Her older brother angry screamed at his grandma when he was 5 months old because he didnt want to sleep

I have one girl, she’s two going on three in November, she is the most emotional dramatic person in the world 🤣 everything is “no” and a screaming fit for at least 30 mins now matter how hard I try to distract her, play with her, teach her to take deep breaths, she is so stubborn and does not care🤣 if she wants to do something, she wants it NOW! and she does not care about anything else🥲🤣 help🤣🤣🤣🤣

This makes me feel seen. I thought there was something wrong with me and my second’s connection or that I favored my first born, but then one day I realized I just wasn’t as fond of the baby stage as I am toddler stage. My second born is now 1.5 and the first born is 3.5. All the bonds are getting so much better!

Let the stress begin lol 🤣. I have 7 and 8 year old boys and I couldn't wait for them to play together 🤦 it's more fighting and arguing then playing. Literally every little thing is a fight even at Disneyland and even when you literally buy 2 of everything. I also have a 16 year old girl so I know the teen years are not going to be any easier with my boys and my daughter will still argue and fight with them too but then we have the random days where they all get along. My sister in law has 3 girls close together like you so I just hope you have a lot of energy lol 🤣.

My kids are opposite. First was observant, quiet, content just sitting as a baby. Now she whines and cries quite a bit. My second babbles, wants to be face to face with people constantly, and moves like crazy.

You literally vocalized my life perfectly in this video. Resistance on everything! I gotta figure out how to do reverse-psychology or something, cause it’s hard. My almost 4 year old can be a perfect angel if he wants. But he rarely wants to be. And the 2 year old is his shadow and echo so she’s learning his rebelliousness.
But I’m loving that they are learning to clean up their own messes. Like doing their dishes and cleaning up their spills. Putting clothes away and toys sometimes. Finally it’s a bit less work for me.

My second just turned one! I am happy they should be playing together more when she is 1.5. My second is really trying to walk right now and I think that will help her be able to keep up with her sister and play together.
I like the idea of putting the flip book in the kids bedroom because right now I lay with my second in bed to help her nap and I don't want to fall asleep too (for very long lol) because my oldest is in the other room watching tv. So I can read the flipbook :).

I've been a parent for almost 10 years and I have felt bad for different things at different times. I finally found a friend group and I have seen many of their kids do similar things to my kids that I look at and think "how did I fail so bad"; now I see kids are kids and sometimes they are great and do wonderful things ( just like you taught) and sometimes they are in a bad mood or don't feel go or just don't understand life and they do something you think is totally mean or bad and it's just because they are kids. So far, from my experiance, every age and stage is hard and challenging and wonderful and rewarding., you are doing great!
