I found 8/10 including the 404 and the desk configurator. I didn't find the Newsletter, I thought I checked that, and the 3rd scroll of the main products scroll to the pocket shirt. I got stuck looking at the FAQs for about 5 minutes before the banner changed. They have used the 404 page and the deskpad configurator before its a bit of LTT knowledge, Lots of people got 7 8 and 9 before it ended. The fact that one person out of thousands was able to get it in 10 minutes is completely understandable.
@svgPhoenix of course there's someone better than me. That's just how life works. I was being sarcastic when I said no way, I was just surprised at how fast it took the winner, and honestly kudos to them. You sound salty for no reason lol
I really liked the video with the shop owner with all the 'ancient' tech and the games you all played and bought it and you could tell the guy was really happy about it and he definitely needed some new stock in his shop. These new games and things you do makes it so much more fun.
@@HazewinDog I know this but eventually they make it so people have to upgrade. I have some old tech, and an old dell, but like tube tvs not much you can do with it except in a museum.
Damn, in scavenger hunt I found 7 thingies out of 10 in like 3 minutes and then was stuck on the last three till someone passed me, I was even switching to light mode in search :). Well, it was fun, congrats to the winner... you "find waldo" master you.
@@lockevalentine997 404 and bonus bin were actually the ones I missed in a rush panic mode near the end xD... found them on my own but after the hunt ended. The only one I was missing and had to search through comments was the one hidden in open desk configurator, behind a LTT deskpad. I WAS on the Northers Lights desk pad page, but never clicked on the configurator. Well, cooler heads prevailed.
2:06:44 The roller-mouse is horrible for ultrawide and multi-monitor setups. It's mapped to the farthest left edge to the farthest right edge of your entire screen area, the cursor flies across the screen with the slightest touch. My aunt loves that thing, I don't get it.
Honestly, the 212 is a great cheap cooler. Lapped one (original, not EVO) for my 1700x and had that baby ripping at 4.4ghz all core topping out at 92c during 8 hour stress tests.
My answer to the merch message about the past tech that saved me, would be my OnePlus 8T that i had to go back to after my Asus Zenfone 8 bricked itself 2 weeks ago out of nowhere.
I had 9/10, but I started a bit late. Didn't think to check the desk configurator... Even so, wouldn't have beat the guy that wrote a script. LOCATIONS: - Any page: under the navbar - Second tab of the big section of 5 images on the front page - Newsletter article - Gear tab in navbar - Under Contact Us form - Cable management page - All products page - 404 page - Northern lights deskpad desk configurator - Bonus bin in cart (need to add something to your cart)
Yeah, keyboards are a comfort thing. I don't like noise or tactile keys. A good membrane keyboard is all I need. The only ones I've managed to kill got a coffee bath. :P Also yeah, if you left your Airpods in your pocket when throwing your pants in the laundry, *that's totally on you*. Your lack of care is not my fault.
Return of the Jedi was also my favorite Star Wars movie as a kid. Best lightsaber fight of the Original Trilogy, best space battle of the Original Trilogy (along with some of my favorite starship designs (A-Wing, TIE Interceptor). And I too wasn't old enough to think Ewoks were "not cool".
couldn't agree more with Linus on mechanical keyboards. I bought my MX brown mechanical keyboard ten years ago (or more) right when there was a big hype/renaissance of mechanical keyboards. That was back when Cherry was the only manufacturer and RGB keyboards either didn't exist or were ludicrously expensive to the student I was back then, so it only has red LEDs, but that's all the colors I want XD Anyway, I bought it with the intention of it being the last keyboard I'll ever need and it's still delivering on that all these years later, even after four years of home office use. Shure, some newer models have neat features like a volume wheel, but I don't _really_ need that, especially now since I have a USB audio interface with volume dials for speakers and headphones sitting on my desk. the only thing I made in those ten years was buying a new set of keycaps cause the original ones did start to feel kinda worn at some point and I wanted a fresh look. I love the tactile feedback of the brown switches and how they're not too loud despite it, unlike the blue switches. Plus MX brown keyboards are so much better than membrane keyboards for playing arcade racers, because you feel exactly when the button is activated and there's a sharply defined end point, whereas on membrane boards I used to press down the arrow keys with all my force because I never felt completely certain if it's really pressed down and making continuous contact, which wuickly led to my fingers becoming cramped up.
bit of a random comment :P but 2:22:50 its not different molds, that would be very expensive. Im an industrial product designer and haven't designed anything vacuum formed like that but if i where them id stamp the number in later instead of using a different mold, also gives a more defined number then when its in the mold itself. Oh yeah btw, these molds are much cheaper then injection molds since it uses vacuum instead. But they are limited in detail (and thickness, which is why you rarely find thick plastic like that) Edit: wrote this before linus finished, what linus said is possible too. I could tell in person but from the video its hard to know for sure
I just upgraded to a 2080Ti FE from my trusty old 1070 and i'm loving it! I mainly do video editing and only play minecraft so a new gpu really didn't make sense for me lol
regarding the 8th gen 6-core chip recommendation... these 6-core 6-thread CPUs are actually terrible. I sidegraded to a 9600K system (I love sidegrading once or twice a year) and boy was that a bad experience. Windows is just sluggish with less than 8 threads it seems. a 6700K is a much better experience than even an overclocked 9600K. It is fine in (most) games though, but not for general desktop usage. Besides, if you want more than 4 cores, there's always X79, X99, X299 as well. For gaming, I wouldn't recommend anything prior to 4th gen though. 1st gen is missing various instruction sets used in modern games, and 2nd/3rd gen are also missing one that is now sometimes required. That said, X99 motherboards can be quite fragile, so that kinda leaves X299 if you do want 12 threads or more, and for an older platform like that I would suggest going for 16 threads if this doesn't cost too much more. For value you'd realistically be looking at something more modern like a Ryzen 3600 or 5600-based system, or something like a 10th/11th gen i5 system, though.
When they announced a scavenger hunt on the store website someone could have easily created a script to scrub the pages looking for any changes or to locate the icon ID for the "button" that was added, would allow them to literally just load a page and know if there was a change right away.
First they would have had to have downloaded the website, then written code to scrub it for changes vrs a new download of the website, when all they said was "there will be a scavenger hunt that will start on the website after we go offline which they only said 15 minutes before they went offline. Further there is no way to be sure it all would have been on the website AND many people got to 7 8 or 9 by the time it finished, Yes it was fast, but I was at 8, I missed the scroll on the main page to the pocket shirt and the newsletter, which I thought I checked. and I spent 5 minutes searching the FAQs. 5 were VERY EASY, a couple were pretty obvious. The only difficult ones were the northernlights deskpad and the /404 both of which would be known to long time fans. There were 5000 people in youtube chat, 2000 in twitch chat and more in floatplane everyone trying to get it all at once, its more likely someone just got it rather than someone writing a script. probably 3000+ nerds trying to brute force a simple problem it all at once.
Thermal Grizzly has like 2 or 3 different types of contact frames. They have one that includes a silicone gasket so you can use Conductonaut, or there's just a basic contact frame, and then there's one for direct die cooling.
When I was at an esl vr event, we had the same issue. Had to move into a room that was segregated from the main area. Had too much interference in the main room that was messing everything up
It has to be that in those type of builds that all parts must remain intact and function properly, the system them must run as intended and all damaged parts during the build must be replaced with a similar or higher value part. The idea was to build a PC not just combine parts of it and leave some out. Would love to see this again but done properly
We need a follow-up video on this about the costs of all the prices / deals that were given. I'm really curious to find out how many free shipping orders went out and how much will LTT have to "write-off" :P
Would be incredibly hard to get a working script in the time they announced it. Someone just likely had an entire room of people helping them scan the site. If someone actually managed to write a script from scratch and get it to successfully do its job I’m not even mad.
aren't laser projectors still better than a 4k tv at 120+ inches? (even accounting for price, with a special double angle screen for short throw projectors)
On Win Ben Stein's Money, It was basically a portion of the money he earned for hosting the show that you could earn from him. Like, Half of his appearance fee if I remember correctly was at stake.
I remember last time they had a Titan V as a possible choice for a graphics card. Linus thought it was just a cheap card. lolno Even today, it's a 500 dollar card. At minimum. I badly, badly want a Quadro GV100 myself, but they are WAYYYYY more. :(
I'm definitely not part of most people. Cable tuners were friggin epic. There are still cable card tuners available IIRC, but most cable companies refuse to authorize them. If I won the PowerBall, I would 1000% launch a class action against Big Cable and seek a permanent injunction against them being able to decide what devices they will authorize. I guess on the plus side though - I saved a LOT of money on hard drives. Because I probably would have had a rather large NAS long ago.
@@VonGeggry There are some hidden in different modes of the website. Dark mode and light mode have hidden ones in each. I've found 8 so far. One was in checkout screen, another in bonus bin, another in contact us.
Really imo anything helps if food is too hot. Really just eating something, even if its bread or chips, as long as it doesnt have any kind of pepper in it, helps. Sometimes cold is nice, cold water is better than nothing, and milk is no better immediately. But i think people say drink milk because it eventually neutralizes some of the spice, if it doesnt help more now it will help a little bit more later, if you catch my drift. It still wont change much though in my experience, if you had too much it will still eff you up all the way through your body if you're still sensitive to spices
Re: Xperia -- The back button on the left has been that way forever, I would say that Samsung putting it on the right was the deal-breaker. That said, I do not 'live on my phone'... I 'live on my PC', instead.
How are computer sleeves any more inherently "commodity" than tshirts and screwdrivers? It's all about what innovation/quality improvements you can make.
XG mobile is fantastic, but Asus need to open it for licensing because the connection itself is much better than thunderbolt or usb but having it limited is a shame
Oh my he did it again, I guess he didn't learn :D And, spun for advantage but only rolled one dice for the PSU. 50% discount for nothing! :D Also, I had a G15 logitech keyboard for over 15 years. It was an absolute champ. Then, 15 years later, bought one of their mech keyboards, it failed within a year. Swapped it under warranty, it failed. Swapped it again, it failed again. Tried a different Logitech, it failed also, swapped it under warranty, resold it to someone, bought a Glorious GMMK2 and never looked back. Never will I ever buy another Logitech keyboard again. I guess they learned it's unprofitable to make reliable 15y+ lasting keyboards.
47:45 You're right... and yet making a completely irrelevant point. People are mad cause they destroyed perfectly usable tools, when the artists that use those tools for their method of expression pride themselves on said tools. You missed the point of what people were upset about. People don't think Apple is saying "Artists are no more". They're upset because Apple said "Screw your passion. Screw what you do. Get an iPad, cause that's good enough for all this."
Took somebody 10 minutes to complete the scavenger hunt. I made it to 7/10. I probably would have just turned it into a game server for Palworld or something.
Finally getting around to finishing this today. Highly likely mmwave will pick you up in your paint booth. In the shower is a way I've used it for a while now and the first setup I had easily looked through our shower door, through the wall of the shower and out into the hallway past it. It required a few days of fine tuning to get it to just look into the shower. Current house goes through a cloth and plastic shower curtain with no issues as well.
Dammit, I got to 9 buttons found, then the banner said someone had found all 10. Not sure where the last one is. Yes, I got the 404 page one. And the checkout cart bonus item one.
@@VonGeggry Yeah. I don't even remember where I found them all. The "odd" ones were the "bonus items" drop-down on the shopping cart page; and the 404 page. (At least that I found.)
Win Ben Steins Money: Ben was paid by Comedy Central. He was paid 5000.00 per episode. But he had to compete with contestants to keep it. Ben either won or lost or had to share some of it: but each episode of the show was worth a max of 5000 dollars to ben or the contestant who won it off him. Ben rarely lost so he cleaned up weekly.
I haven’t read any of the comments, but I would assume that the outrage about the Apple ad has more to do with them destroying dollars worth of professional equipment that could have been given rather than being mad at the symbolism
I Love Linus and everything he does for everyone. But 1 thing I HATE about Canadian and European Speech is them saying "ZED" for "Z" when it should be Pronounced "ZEE"!!!!!!
I consistently miss these live streams because I hail from England, mate! Nevertheless, I reckon it would have been neat to send this to someone who made a purchase during the live stream. Although, I acknowledge I'm flouting the rule of commenting before watching the entire video, so it might still occur
1:19:10 chooses for advantage, gives away 69x 50% discount for an advantage for the PSU, doesn't even roll 2 dices and just goes with the one the 1 dice points him to....
It's already a respectable PC 20 minutes in with an over-the-top case. Then, the cooler is doable (if it makes proper contact with the CPU). But, the "storage solution" is atrocious, and doesn't qualify as a system drive. It's funny hearing Linus complain about the price of the parts he's selling for $2.00 because, unless they are something unique, he probably got them for free in the first place. He also probably made more money off this stream than he lost with the exceptions of the "free shipping" and "half-off" temporary discounts.

@@imjeremy51haha good one 😂😂
Found 8 out of 10 buttons. Putting the last one in the 404 page is evil. No way someone actually found that in 10 minutes
404 was easy compared to open desk configurator one.
@@BrunoVentura22desk configurator was the other one I couldn't find.

Actually there's a good reason they keep old stock...

Just wanted to chime in and say I have been really appreciating David stepping in front of the camera

That wasn't a great way to end it...but what is great, is this message from our sponser!
Welcome back, David!

I had 9/10, but I started a bit late. Didn't think to check the desk configurator... Even so, wouldn't have beat the guy that wrote a script.

Yeah, keyboards are a comfort thing. I don't like noise or tactile keys. A good membrane keyboard is all I need. The only ones I've managed to kill got a coffee bath. :P
Also yeah, if you left your Airpods in your pocket when throwing your pants in the laundry, *that's totally on you*. Your lack of care is not my fault.
i’d be interested to hear your comments about nerdforge coffemaker computer
West coast choppers of pc's lol. Crazy build. Room for improvements
That microSD to SATA adapter is still showing available on Brando lol
That case was meant to look like an engine.. a 360 rad and triple fan GPU on top are the cylinders and the fan on front is the car's radiator fan
These are cool builds and fun to watch. I'd watch a part 3.
That was back when Cherry was the only manufacturer and RGB keyboards either didn't exist or were ludicrously expensive to the student I was back then, so it only has red LEDs, but that's all the colors I want XD
Anyway, I bought it with the intention of it being the last keyboard I'll ever need and it's still delivering on that all these years later, even after four years of home office use.
But they are limited in detail (and thickness, which is why you rarely find thick plastic like that)
Edit:
wrote this before linus finished, what linus said is possible too.
I was only 3 away from finding them all! That was kinda tough
When they announced a scavenger hunt on the store website someone could have easily created a script to scrub the pages looking for any changes or to locate the icon ID for the "button" that was added, would allow them to literally just load a page and know if there was a change right away.
Yea but that seams like alot of work for what you would win
That would require a lot of setup ahead of time to work though.
@@kingzach74 yeah, they only announced how it was going to work like 15 minutes before it went live or something
There was no need to setup a script. You could've searched for 'blob' under theDevTools and the html just tells you where to find them
First they would have had to have downloaded the website, then written code to scrub it for changes vrs a new download of the website, when all they said was "there will be a scavenger hunt that will start on the website after we go offline which they only said 15 minutes before they went offline.
The catch is that this is secretly a tax write off
Thermal Grizzly has like 2 or 3 different types of contact frames. They have one that includes a silicone gasket so you can use Conductonaut, or there's just a basic contact frame, and then there's one for direct die cooling.
When I was at an esl vr event, we had the same issue. Had to move into a room that was segregated from the main area. Had too much interference in the main room that was messing everything up
Imagine their still going on with the stream without realizing it had just ended?
It has to be that in those type of builds that all parts must remain intact and function properly, the system them must run as intended and all damaged parts during the build must be replaced with a similar or higher value part. The idea was to build a PC not just combine parts of it and leave some out. Would love to see this again but done properly
We need a follow-up video on this about the costs of all the prices / deals that were given. I'm really curious to find out how many free shipping orders went out and how much will LTT have to "write-off" :P
I hope they mention it on the Wan show this week
I bet someone wrote a script to scrub the website for whatever file those buttons were named
damn, that sucks
maybe but i dont think so
Would be incredibly hard to get a working script in the time they announced it. Someone just likely had an entire room of people helping them scan the site. If someone actually managed to write a script from scratch and get it to successfully do its job I’m not even mad.
@@TjayK2it wasn't really that hard to find them

I'm definitely not part of most people. Cable tuners were friggin epic. There are still cable card tuners available IIRC, but most cable companies refuse to authorize them. If I won the PowerBall, I would 1000% launch a class action against Big Cable and seek a permanent injunction against them being able to decide what devices they will authorize.
I guess on the plus side though - I saved a LOT of money on hard drives. Because I probably would have had a rather large NAS long ago.

Also, I had a G15 logitech keyboard for over 15 years.

Current house goes through a cloth and plastic shower curtain with no issues as well.

can't wait for the $3 pc build!!!

Linus really spun wheel of advantages and then didn't reroll the dice on PSUs.
How about a stream where Linus has to guess how much each part costs. And for every increment he is over/under the item is upgraded.
