Really trying to learn this software but am struggling to comprehend it, it seems you are using lots of short cuts such as ctrl and shift, are there other features in the program that do these functions.
Also this my first tutorial on this and I find that the pace is very quick, are there other tutorials that are slower paced and just show the very basics .
I have learn't on Movie Maker and can handle that but the reason I want to learn Davinci is for colour grading.
Final question if I learn just the colour grading on Davinci, can I insert a video that I have done on Movie Maker and just apply the colour grading.

I'm fine on movie maker myself. I wanted to learn a more professional way (more options too) But most tutorials I've watched (6 so far) are like Mazda... zoom zoom.......... Way to fast with all kinds of assumptions by the makers, thinking you already know this and that.
Thanks for the tutorial, though I have a question. Its my first time using Da Vinci Resolve and I using the 15 Beta Free Edition.
When I render it only rendered 3 minutes Video. Is that the maximum length of video that it can render or it only because Im using Free Edition. Hope you can help me. Thanks Again.

When you're going this fast, you really should be explaining more. There is very little explanation, and it would be quite helpful. I stuck until the end, but I wish you had explained more.
this is a late response but it means when you add a file in, you can mark when the video begins and when it ends . On the timeline you can do more advanced versions of that basically lol
Please mention in your video how to make Mark IN and OUT by keys
"I" = in "O"=out
Letter keys are used for commands, like AVID and Final Cut Pro and other Editing programs do. I is IN and O is OUT. Download a Cheat Sheet here.

IDK. I haven't ever shot on the 4k BMPCC
I really do n't like giving thumbs down to new content creators but I came to see how to save the work after doing simple editing and posting my content. I do not see that here and I'm disappointed. Next time, make sure to put bare bone basic a little bit of everything

I was looking for just a simple transition would I overlap the clips
Just butt the ends together, that is a butt splice or a straight cut. Drag a transition to the join, and it will give you a dissolve or fade in or out, or some other transition.
Go easy on the fireworks and splashy transitions, they just look amateurish. I took an "Editing" class once, and all he showed us was which transitions are "very very cool." Zero Editing at all. (I got my money back).
Look at a commercial movie, it's mostly straight cuts and here and there a dissolve. Nary a spinning star nor a cartwheeling silhouette of Kiki Stockhammer. (Kiki is a pretty redhead, and was a fixture on the Amiga computer Video Toaster, a video effects box in the early '90s).
If you just overlap the clips, one will be trimmed. I don't remember which, because I don't do that.
@@samlongoria5268 okat thanks. yeah I'm not looking to use any of those wild transitions. I just wanted a straight cut. i tried to use it before, but there seemed like it was a gap in the footage. I tried the dissolve, it was a little long even when I adjusted it.
Final was released today. Does anybody know if there is still problems with Sony A series cameras and if there is still the frame rate mix match problems FCPX--->Davinci Resolve 15 and back? Or via xml? The older Resolve would never work allow importing xml from FCPX. Thanks!!
Any idea how I can edit a 360 to look 360 and not like 2 fisheyes? I have the gear 360 but their app will not work on my Note5 so I was told this program will work.
