You cannot talk about Ampiano without Kabza De Small and DJ Maphorisa, they saved us during Covid in Africa, especially where I'm from, Angola.
thats the truth my bro
Don't apologise for pausing the video... we watch your channel because we want to hear your views and opinions! Much Love!
For some reason this video made me emotional...I'm proud of you African child. 🇱🇸🇱🇸🇱🇸
South Africans are very talented musicians and dancers for a very long long time. Amapiano is South African. ❤❤❤
We are also highly talented at dancing with a drink in our hand without spilling a drop 😉
The Major League Amapiano balcony mixes are addictive,, JUST fire!!🔥🔥🔥🇿🇦

I am Nigerian and I love Amapiano. There’s something truly spiritual about it.
Lojay kills Amapiano.
@@michellemirembe6057 whats lojay?
@@michellemirembe6057 wtf is that
@@michellemirembe6057 no no don’t do that, we’re all one
It's so African
Finally someone reacted to this.. I'm Kenyan and I've always wanted this
I really enjoyed this reaction! It’s always good to hear opinions from ppl outside africa ❤️
❤❤
sad part about Amapiano in SA is, there's a probability that a new genre is being cooked right now it has been happening over the years, I just hope that we don't forget it like we forgot Qom.
I'm proudly South African, Amapiano are taking over 🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦
Amapiano are very spiritual. If you listen with a clear mind you will understand why other people even cry when listening to some of the songs. Lyrics and SOUND ALONE.....It takes you places!
Yessssss I find myself crying sometimes. It just grabs me.
Y'all crying 🤷🏾♂️ never...please recommend a song or rather amapiano songs that makes u cry
South Africa never disappoint !!!! And it always put Africa on the map
Amapiano (Yanos) is authentically SOUTH AFRICAN and I love that it's influencing the world! ... Love my country! ♥ 🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦
Mzansi fo sure
Without the tribe of the Og house music player such Oskudo and kwito music . It lost its meaning to mainstream.
Blessed. Much love. Kaleido, South Africa 🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦
Amapiano brings new hope to the world,...Mama Africa sending positive energie! 🌴☀️🌴
Hi! I'm from Angola 🇦🇴 and love Amapiano songs. God bless your work!
South Africans are A Vibe. You should just come already 💃🥰
I actually loved how you guys heard ALL elements of music you relate to, in Amapiano. Amapiano is basically an evolution of the same House music known globally (with all its various sub-genres, early days I recall people saying "yanos' was slow jazzy house, before the amapiano lyrics era).
House Music (with major American pioneers like Kenny Dope, Frankie Knuckles, Kerri Chandler, Dennis Ferrer, and other pioneers from other continents) has ALWAYS been a mainstay for decades, so that sound got infused into a lot of newer genres (amongst many others):
Kwaito
Afro House
Barcadi
Gqom
Amapiano
Hip-Hop, House, EDM, Afrobeats, Kwassa kwassa, Jazz, Funk... Have all influenced these genres in their own way!
What I like about Amapiano is that every song has it's own dance.
Lmao how can BBC(AFRICA) make a documentary about AMAPIANO and not mention/involve Kabza De Small and DJ Maphorisa on the entire documentary🤔😭😅They're literally the Kings of AMAPIANO!!....But hey I really enjoyed this reaction! It’s always good to hear opinions from ppl outside Africa❤❤
Was shocked too🇲🇼
Yazi I was looking forward to hear them😣😭
My thoughts exactly when I first watched the documentary.
We tried to get him but he didn't want to be in the piece sadly
Yeah i i understand you !
The great thing about all this is , is that we also learn about your culture your history.
You guys need to experience a South African December.🔥
You two have such a pure energy. This was such a lovely reaction ❤
Ya'll should react to Uncle Waffles she has been touring the US, Even Drake followed her and posted her on his story 3 times, she leading the females in Amapiano definitely😍🔥
Now THIS is what I call a reaction. I thoroughly enjoyed it. ❤
Glad you enjoyed it! 😁😁
I see my fellow South Africans r dominating this channel🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦😂
The reason why he said "Amapiano in reference of isiZulu means the pianos" is because the Ama in Amapiano is derived from the isiZulu language, well and other nguni languages like isiXhosa, isiSwati and, isiNdebele but most people will refer to it being an isiZulu word because most people from other countries who don't know much about South Africa are familiar with the language isiZulu. And the genre wasn't started by Zulu people.
Interesting. I heard of a South African called Kabza DE Small who apparently started it but on Google it says it originated from a place called Nongoma
Can you please explain
@@luckazzetalexander5868 i can't tell you where it started coz even the Amapiano artists and Djs don't know where it started, they are fighting over the genre. Some say it started in Pretoria, some say it started in Soweto. So I don't know what to tell you about it's origin.
Yes it's more accurately Nguni than just Zulu
We have alot of female artists in South African music ❤️and our artists work together South Africa does not have Amapiano only with our unique but also our Deep House is different from the rest of the world like Kwaito too😊🤗
Dj Maphorisa and Kabza de small are known to be the kings of Amapiano. Mr Souls is also up their
And honestly I just wanna see Amapiano to the Billboard Awards and BET Awards live
The vid blessed me bruh no cap🔥🔥
Proudly South African❤️❤️✌🏽
In Bantu culture women are very prominent, in Rwanda, the King (Umwami) ruled with his mother (Umugabekazi) and we had many women governors/regional rulers. Amapiano is a product of Southern Bantu culture, specifically South African culture, and it's not a surprise that women dominate the genre, Bantu women are Queens and the heart of our diverse Bantu societies.
...not dominate - just prominent
I love my South African people and our music 🎶🎵🎵🎵... Looks like other African country are playing our music that good 👍
I absolutely love amapiano that music brings all kinds of emotions . It goes deep in my soul.
It does!
South Africans are the only people that continue to invent new genres
zulu is the most spoken langauge in south africa ,and most people understand zulu to certain extent. thats prolly why its name has zulu prefix(Ama)becoz how big zulu is in SA. but its basically from Pretoria not Kwa-Zulu Natal province
@@thembi9645 yeah ur ryt perfectly said
U said it injalo
Am from Nigeria 🇳🇬 but I love Amapiano especially when a Nigerian artist is featured in the music it always 🔥🔥🇳🇬🇿🇦🇳🇬🇿🇦
Amapiano is South African only. Afrobeats Nigeria.
We as SAns loves it irrespective who is featured whether it's Diamond Platinum (Tanzanian) or the other; it's our love & pride, our lifestyle, our culture! It's ours!!🔥🔥🔥🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦
@@hopes9451 am not dragging it away from u guys☹️☹️ Amapiano is from the south I don't care all I know is that Afrobeats is way better than Amapiano, tell me the Amapiano artist that can compete with Burna boy mtchew 😏😏🇳🇬💪
@@kelechijure4901 Nigeria is a non factor......south Africans are amazing, spiritual and innately talented.....amapiano to the world
@@kelechijure4901 we don't care about Nigeria or its artists in actual fact we are not even bothered or envious about their achievements,, well done to them!!. Amapiano is proof of how capable we are as a country👌🏽💯we create our own sound, our own brands, from shoes, clothes, beauty products etc (Bathu,Drip,Tshepo jeans,Portia M,Sewela wines,Billiato etc) 🤗🤗 what's even more crazy is black people are doing it...South aah, clap hands for yourselves👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾made by SAns,for SAns and then we share with the world💯💯

I'm proud of my Country South Aaaah!!
Amapiano is from a original genre Kwaito that went to private school 🤣🤣
So true...and hurts that kwaito is barely mentioned.and is embedded is SA history in terms of music
I’m proudly South African
Hi The Demouchets React♥ been waiting for you guys to react to more AMAPIANO Music🎵Amapiano is really a vibe and it`s always lit💃you can have a bad day and just listen to Amapiano and i feel better 😂😜
Indeed!
Amapiano was origionaly heavy male dark and underground instrumentals until a producer called JR changed its texture by introducing KAMO MPHELA to make it more palatable and feminine ironically KAMO MPHELA was just a dancer.
Female vocalists and dancers were key and instrumental to making it go global and viral.
💯 Women are powerful!!
It was underground until baby are u coming, umshove and gong gong kamo mphela came after that.
@@mesh6180 that was Amapiano eve. Amapiano really expoded after Ama-Uber guys and Kamo Mpela came in the scene. Hence she's the queen. Of Amapiano.
Before amauber Piano was already making waves. I still remember when vigro deep released Locked tune... that was when it started gaining popularity in the streets. While new artist started jumping in too...and that was about 4-5year ago. Amauber and kamo Phela came after that. They came while piano was already mainstream and at its peak.
@@mesh6180 Guys lyk Gaba canal were der already 😜🙏
"Ha se trap ke pina tsa ko kasi". Meaning > It's not trap, it's songs from the hood. South African music is intentional, getting the message across and making an impact. Proudly to be South African ❤️✌🏾.
First time watching the documentary with you guys on your reaction. As a south african I love how they've explained the birth of amapiano in our country and how rapidly it's growing now, but I do wish they had given DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small more credit because they are basically the kings of amapiano. Personally I feel like they played a big part on not only the birth but also the growth of amapiano. I remember the first time I heard amapiano was with Kabza De Small's hit song called UMSHOVE 🔥 since then I fell in love with the genre ❤but otherwise I'm happy.
Keep on reacting to amapiano your channel will grow as south Africans we will support you amapiano to the 🌍
i actually liked your reaction video, i made sure that i watched ad🥺❤️, like i fell in love with you guys 🥺❤️recently joined the fam🫂
Thank you for the love! You really are apart of our family. We appreciate you.❤
I enjoyed your analysis!!! To God be the Glory, this Kingdom belongs to God!!! I always tell people that, there's no way that God would have created one Nelson Mandela here. The church is rising here in South Africa & I'm just grateful for all the mothers that have passed the parton of fearing the Lord & praying in every season. My prayer is that the good Lord raises His standard so that we can be what we are destined to be in this world. A shout out to your family & thank you for appreciating us in this way..... mwaaaah!🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦
We appreciate you too mwaaaah!
Zulu is like the most influential South African Language
You guys make me smile all the time watching you reacting to my country 😻😘🔥🔥

Hi family, thank you for this reaction. I've also been waiting for it. I knew that once you react to Mansa Mayne then there's no turning back. You'll be hypnotized by this sound especially the more you listen to other Amapiano songs. Love it!❤️👌 Proudly South African!🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦
I've watched this documentary before but watching you guys react to it, especially at the end I felt Sis connecting with the soulful sound at the end and it made me tear up. Music is indeed spiritual. One Love and one race, which is the Human race. This was beautiful. 💞
Love how you reacted to this. The authenticity transcended. Loved watching you watch this. Black child take up space

Thanks! Much love!
I enjoyed this reaction so much! Omgggg Amapiano to the world FR! ♥️🇿🇦
VIBRATIONS OF AMAPIANO ARE TRULY AN AWAKENING TO THE WORLD!
Amapiano is not made by ZULUs (only) No ☝🏽 … interesting thing about SOUTH AFRICA (AFRICA) is that in our official languages those are infact the different TRIBES/CLANS that live here in SA , so the thing is as we are from different Tribes even though we are one as AFRICANS we come together in our cities when we leave our generally Clan Province because Zulus stay in Kwa Zulu Natal , Tswanas stay in North West , Xhosa stay in Eastern cape , just to mention a few that’s how it is then you have our Cities and particular province such as Gauteng where the is our famous city JOHANNESBURG aka Jozi this is where we all typically meet and stay together now as one and we already have cultures in common even though it’s distinct to everyone’s norm and language when we meet at big cities this is where we create a NATIONAL SOUND , NATIONAL LANGUAGE , NATIONAL TRENDS just like amapiano was born from this city Johannesburg as a result of the whole Nation expressing itself with our point of view from our cultures traditions … you find that the iconic dancer can be from the Spedi Clan and the singer from Venda clan the producer from the Ndebele clan etc Just a Continent of ONE in different colours
Thank you for sharing. We've had a love for Zulu culture since childhood. They are all we've known before researching and taking a deep dive into the rest of Africa's culture and people. We love the unity and love amongst all of you. ❤
@@TheDemouchetsREACT lol YOU HAVE ALMOST started a tribal war here 🤣😅 Zulu are a tribe everyone loves to have because of the influence hence I was careful in how I corrected it😅🤣.
It's true Zulua are more influencial in Joburg township street culture and languange (even though it's not in KWAZulu Natal). However all tribes are involved.
You are 💯right!
I really love the way you explain it 🙌🏽
At first I was like you about to start tripping, but no you said it perfectly... it just so happens that we named it in Zulu, coz you a large percentage do understand Zulu...it's popular. Great explanation indeed. Like how the currently trending dance is called...Tobetsa which SePedi😂🔥
Cassper being called a fitness coach 🤣🤣😂😂😂😂Why was he dressed like that?
This was beautiful to watch. I really enjoyed this reaction❤. Your content is highly appreciated
The BBC is lying, AmaPiano did not start in Soweto. It started in Pretoria, and it evolved from the Barcadi sounds of Pretoria. Soweto made AmaPiano more musical, but it did not originate there.
Get over it
Whatever. It’s still in South Africa
@@user-sb6kt3pg9y if that wasn't important then why didn't they specifically say it was started in SA?
Great reaction🔥🔥🔥🔥 very inspiring❤ been on the channel for you're the best reactors out there
Yoh sis when you got emotional towards the end it really got me, wanted to shed a tear.
love the reaction , can wait to hear you guys saying you are coming to the mother land
Love you guys lots ❤From South Africa 🇿🇦
Loved your commentary, I also got emotional sis ❤️
❤Amapiano is not introduced by Zulus per say ….they just gave it a Zulus name , most people understand zulu and that’s cause it’s mostly spoken and sounds good to the ear (lyrically as well).
Yeah! AmaPiano was pioneered in predominantly Sotho, Tswana & Pedi neighbourhoods. But adding Zulu made it more palatable to a wider audience.
Okay now that u understand what amapiano Is..next step is to start listening to it. It will change ur life fr. We can't wait to see u guys react to some of the amapiano hits too. Love to u guys❤️
Agreed! Amapiano is all I listen to now. I don't understand the language, but I love the beats and the way their dialect sounds to the ear. It's totally different than any other genre.
Do you fam do yall, we love it when you pause and analyse, react, good job
Much love our new family. We love you and we are big fan of you and your husband. Much love and bless family ❤
South Africans can adapt to any kind of music and dance ❤❤❤ that’s my country proud being South African ❤❤
Damn!!!! Really liked this documentary guys i even feel like it's short
The way you guys look and talk to each other..😍😍😍
I love you guys, keep up the good. 🇿🇦
I just like the fact that you guys are willing to learn about africans, to be honest we african know more about Americans. i'm happy to see you guys learning about us.
Thanks for reacting to South African Heartbeat Amapiano. South Africa has been great with music but they were not able to bridge it out to the world. Amapiano is a revamp of our other powerful genre called Kwaito. Somehow it is like, this is the sound we have been brewing! This is the final product we have been aspiring for. It touches everybody from all races and languages. The fact that most can't understand the lyrics doesn't dampen it's effect. I would like to mention the humble man behind "the log drum" and his name is Mdu aka TRP. Full name Mduduzi Keith Mangena.
Love u guys from South Africa
I enjoyed this reaction and the doccie ♥️♥️♥️ from 🇿🇦
Thank you so much for sharing this. Sierra, you said that you always want to learn. I am a white South African and I am always on the constant lookout for knowledge to educate myself more on the culture of my black fellow citizens. I was born here (I am 69 years old) and I am angry that the history and culture of people of color were stolen from me by a horrific government. But channels like The Demouchets help me on my journey. Salut. Respekt.
Thanx you may be white but u embrace our culture. U re a true South African. That's what this country need.
Cant wait for urll to start reacting to amapiano music videos ☺☺

Hi guys. It's great being here.
South Africa has diverse music genres. I appreciate the level of interest you have on our continent. Big ups to that! It would be nice to see another reaction on another authentic South African genre, which is totally different from Amapiano, which has a lot of energy. I don't know whether you've already done another video on the genre called Afro-Pop-Soul, a chilled, nice authentic South African genre. It is mostly dominated by the Nguni group i.e. Xhosa and Zulu. It is totally different from the Afropop on the rest of the continent. The most popular acts are Nathi, Zahara, Amanda Black,Vusi Nova, Sjava, Amy Faku, Lwah Ndlunkulu, Nomfundo Moh, Ntando, Phila Madlingozi,The Soil, Samthing Soweto, Afrotraction, Semito, Linda, Berita (Zimbabwe) and Press (Sotho) among others. It was pioneered by artists such as Ringo Madlingozi, Joe Nina and Brenda Fassie etc. This genre gets to your heart, mind, body and soul. Like R&B. If you haven't done a video on this, try it. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. This genre came before Amapiano (during the Kwaito era) and is still a force to be reckoned with. Please do a documentary or video on it. You'd love it!
