Watch the US lose all interest in Taiwan as soon as intel get's its own fabs up and running

not gonna happen probably, it is quite a challenge to run these factories and intel is at a tough spot even government subsidies might not suffice

That was AMAZING - thank you! I have been wondering what was behind this tension. Here's my question though: how could nations be so stupid as to allow such a critical technology to be outsourced? And how could they let only ONE country be the supplier of EUV?

I've been asking myself that for quite some time. I get it with the manufacturing of cheap, mass produced goods. But this extremely high end and vital technology? Madness.

It's like Taiwan is the key to all, like the keymaker in the Matrix.

The pyramids had a white stone exterior. I guess it wasn’t rare, or given to a specific location. So, now you see they look for the smaller, smaller and smaller and few options

It seems utterly insane, to place the manufacturing of this vital technology in such a volatile location. Or just one location at all.

Taiwan’s economic development started organically long ago when the world looked quite different.
Their location on the map now is an inconvenient truth.

For more information on TSMC, I suggest Asianometry's channel where he has a video on TSMC. He's well-versed in almost everything Taiwan.

      He's well-versed technically, but also very western-indoctrinated.

@@Peace_Guard Fair assessment. But he sounds like he grew up in the West so yes, he's been western-indoctrinated.

China already has both litography machines and chips only one generation behind AMSL/TSMC. Will probably take few years to get to the same level, but it will be much faster than the West realizes.
