agree with almost everything except for lights, I fish a few times a week until 1 am or so in Dunedin and never use lights, you'd be surprised how fast your eyes adjust and retying becomes no problem at all.
Truly ~very ~ happy to be an insider. Excited about the new map/information on the rise. When it comes to night fishing, I will never forget when I was a child my cousin Ronnie & his father would go over around Coco/ Melbourne area. They fished the bridge at night in the cold winter. Ronnie would climb down and scrape the pilling with a shovel. The two of them brought home 100# & 50# drum. I talking 3 in a night. It was totally awesome.
Hey guys, I'm a mostly night time fisherman in the spring and summer months. Mostly on or before a full an new moon, this is when I cought my PB Redfish an most of my flounder's. Plus I think bait fish fill better coming out at night. They love the lights at docks and bridges just like ya'll said. Where I fish ( Pensacola Bay and Bayou Grande) there's a couple of small islands ( White inland right at the bay) next to the jetties ( magazine point) there's are the flats, bait minnows are always there ( I mean alot) so easy to catch them. It's the best of both worlds. That's where you will find me 90% of the time in summer months!! FYI to my fellow fisherman. An there's alot of docks an a couple of bridges on the way there and back. Great episode y'all, 😎🎣
Thx for the info Pinky Davis. I'm a newer kayak fisherman from Pensacola and due to a issue with my eyes I will most likely change to fishing mostly at night.
Love haulover canal. Big snook, redfish, and black drum along with Tons of huge Trout. Rarely have a bad trip there other than no see ems that will eat you alive.
@@davidsanders81 thanks for that. Ive been pounding the ICW most all of my life but haulover is nearly 2 hours away and I've never made it up there but with the recent kayak purchase I'm motivated to try. It looks and sounds like a fishy place. I'll try your tips out soon
Where we stay and fish in SC is a long pier into the inlet. There is a ton of blue crab in the area and we catch. Fingers crossed I can use some of the tips and info for Salt Strong this year. I’m still a beginner basically and only get to salt water fish once a year. Love you guys!!
P.S. when it comes to the Snook at the bridge. On an incoming tide at Sabashtain Inlet I have seen them hide behind pilling on the opposite side in ambush. If you get your bait in there face hang on and don’t even try to stop smiling.
Here in PNW I find that near full or new moon when the tides swing hard multiple times a day that trigger where the bite just turns on is the best when the current flows hard around the structure
Absolutely! we have something to benefit all anglers! The tackle discounts alone are enough for any angler! The perks are so great you would rather take a treble hook than not be a part of this! 💪
Just a thought. You begin the show with. Enjoying the"less people" at night. Not no more. Now all of everybody that watches this is going to bum rush all the spots. Lol

About to take a kayak trip there for the first time this weekend - where do you recommend launching? Fish inside the canal or at the mouths?

Hey salt I fish at night but with four tides and and south east wind with wind between 10-15mph but I have lights
P.S. when it comes to the Snook at the bridge. On an incoming tide at Sabashtain Inlet I have seen them hide behind pilling on the opposite side in ambush. If you get your bait in there face hang on and don’t even try to stop smiling.
I've heard use black lures at night time.
It can help when fishing a night when the moon is brighter! 💪
Ever use an underwater light? Does it work bettter? What color?
Dock light can be a lot of fun to fish! 💪
Check out Sionyx night vision for boat navigation. Looks interesting
Thank You for fishing at night!
Any time! It is always fun!
Great topic ! However i was wondering What moon phases do you prefer for night fishing ?

Thanks for the feedback!
Do not shine the light over the area you are fishing or you will spook the fish
Definitely avoid that if possible!
