As somebody who converted from android to Apple for the ease of use I find it upsetting how many settings they're just now introducing that's been on android for quite a while. My galaxy watch from two generations ago did this it didn't show a graph but it would show you how hard you worked out compared to your normal workouts

My Fenix 7 lasts 18 DAYS on a full charge and up to 57 DAYS on low power mode with 58 HOURS while pulling GPS when the Ultra 2 only lasts 36 HOURS in regular mode and only 7 Hours in GPS. That means the Garmin lasts 7 times longer in GPS mode and 12 Times longer in Smartwatch mode and 19 TIMES longer in low power mode. All this with very few differences in features and all of garmins readings and sensors being much more accurate.

It is incredibly useful to me because I used to be super active and then life caught up to me... And I get tired sooner than I used to. The watch helps me to be sure that I am adequately tired and not necessarily overtrained. It also catches me if I start slacking

It’s for training. Let’s say you want to train to lift a target weight. You don’t start off at the target weight, you start off with less weight. As you grow strong the training load will decline if you don’t increase the weight you train with. This means you get a quantifiable metric on when to increase your weight (for example), maximizing the efficiency of your training schedule.
They are defining intensity incorrectly. In the context of exercise intensity ought to be defined as the momentary level of effort relative to the momentary level of capability, which is not directly proportional to HR (HR is only part of CO, and with some types of exercise SV increases more) and not something that can be measured with mechanical work or power output. Most of the industry gets this wrong.
for me personally, having everything connected is more worth it. has more than enough features i need, i can check my notifications, ping my phone, hell, i can take a call on it too! garmin watches are definetly better if you’re a runner but even then convenience is worth so many points imo.

I would say it depends on your sport. For running the scene is very competitive with coros polar and garmin, though I would say garmin is the best one if you can afford the better models
What I want them to do is assign my rating based on time and calories burned and other metrics. But I also have been enjoying this feature. It is useful and the animations and functionality are great.

It can be helpful. My Garmin has a body battery count and as someone with chronic fatigue and poor interoception (meaning I can’t tell how my body feels until it’s too severe to circumvent) it is very helpful to tell when I am about to crash and burn. I can see this being very helpful for healthy people who just push themselves too hard with workouts or working too. It also comes with a stress alert, so I can figure out if I’m stressed and take care of it or not. 90% of the time, those features are very accurate to me. I don’t know about healthy people, but I would assume it is also helpful for them as well so they can plan breaks and check in with themselves with some mindfulness.
When your garmin can do all the ecosystem integrated stuff this can then we can talk. Smart watches adopting features that pro tools have is a good thing

Just get a garmin watch like the Garmin Venu 3. Does all this and actually lasts over a week on one charge so you can consistently track your health metrics rather than having to take your watch off for a few hours every other day

The huge difference to other fitness trackers is that you loose hours of data every day due to recharching the watch.
