Here in Florida we have a chimpanzee that escaped from Busch Gardens that they still haven't caught, but you see pictures of it swimming in the Gulf of Mexico and just chilling in someone's backyard. Has become somewhat of a local celebrity and Legend
i think there is also an island with some kind of monkies or something that got abandoned and they left them there and now they run wild. i cant remember where but its also in FL.
@Cat Egorical look at the lady with the blond daughter lol she just calmly walks past it as if they were in a museum or something. Its like a lot of those people have no idea how dangerous baboons are
The way I see it, if they're smart enough to outsmart the security measures, even if they're just really high walls, then they probably don't belong in there in the first place.
Yeah zoos are kinda fucked. The only good thing about them is the conservation of animals they can provide as we wipe them out in the wild. Then again nature reserves are a lot better for that.
@@niclas3672 the trick with zoos is that they make a ton of money and so it's much easier to maintain them. Sanctuaries and reserves are more difficult to monetise and so rely on donations and other forms of inconsistent funding. Screw zoos that don't engage in conservation work tho.
@@tommcevoy4872 There are still better ways of going about it. Knuthenborg safari park here in Denmark is definitely a lot better than a traditional zoo if you ask me, the animals get a lot of space to move around because the way you go see them is basically to drive your car in their enclosure. I'm not an expert on their practices there or anything but the concept definitely seems a lot better for the animals, it's much closer to replicating their natural habitat than in a tiny zoo enclosure.
I could be inclided to agree, but considering that life in the wild would probably mean they or their entire species might die and go extinct, a zoo is the best option.
Part of me wants to be at a zoo when stuff like this happens. Another part of me knows that I will have already left the premises, called a taxi, and scheduled a flight before the animal even touched the pavement
Alayna Leighh no that wasn’t electricity if it was the reaction would’ve been severely different, tranquilizer darts have a variety of potencies, meaning it can either take longer or shorter depending on the amount you give the subject, given the situation it’s most likely the workers had given the chimp a lot due to it being in top of an electric pole and not wanting to cause damage to any of the poles cables and other mechanic attributes, the chimp had caused no real strain on the lines nor any other form of damage which inflicts with the prospect of it being electrocuted, and as you can see it gradually loses it consciousness while clinging at the end before blacking out indicating it was a slow and calming process which provides support to it being the dart not electricity lol. It only stiffens because it is falling all animals due to when falling to brace for impending impact which most times does help it but other times the fall is just to massive in depth for any chance of survival
I think most people did the right thing and that’s stand still Honestly it depends on what animal it is but with most let them smell you check you out they will realise your not a threat and leave you alone.Try to scare them away either they will run from you and make it harder for zookeepers to contain the animal or it could try to attack you Or If you run away they could think your some sort of prey and try to take you out.(this one depends on what animal
At 2:30 the chimp was actually getting electrocuted the whole time he was holding on to the wire. The electricity cause your muscles to contract so he could not let go. I hope he was alright.

You really have to be careful when darting an ape, they pull out the darts and throw them back, with great accuracy.
That would be a sight to see
With the gorillas are kinda of a 50/50 there's s good chance that a gorilla would pass out or a good chance for a gorilla to tear us to shreds
nah, apes can't throw for shit. Even a 4 year old human is better at throwing than a chimp
